The men didn’t argue. Whatever Roxy said was the new order in their life.

Torian secured Tanith in a specialized travel sling made of Ren’s silk. Syris gathered the medicinal herbs and the new amulet. Kaelen scooped up the sleeping Axel and Onyx, while Ren, surprisingly helpful, carried Iris and a small bag of gems.

Roxy tried to stand, but her legs wobbled, and her limbs felt jelly.

“I got you,” Zarek rumbled.

He simply bent down and scooped her up, placing her securely on his right shoulder as if she weighed nothing more than a sack of feathers.

“Hold on to my horn,” Zarek instructed, his hand clamping over her thigh to secure her. “Where do we go?”

Roxy pulled up the System Compass in her vision. A blue arrow pointed deep into the forest, away from the village, toward the convergence of the ley lines.

“That way,” Roxy pointed into the darkness. “Straight through the treeline. About two miles.”

The procession moved out. They left the humble cabin behind, the place that had seen their beginning, and marched into the dark and dense woods.

The journey was silent, save for the crunch of boots on the grass and the occasional sleepy whimper from a cub. Roxy rested her cheek against Zarek’s head, the heat radiating from his skin keeping her warm against the night air.

After twenty minutes of trekking, the trees began to thin.

They stepped out into a massive, circular clearing.

It was perfect. The moonlight illuminated a vast, flat expanse of land where the great rivers of the forest met. To the North, the path led to the Wolf Dens. To the East, the Dragon Peaks loomed. To the South, the swampy lowlands of the Serpents. And to the West was a route Roxy was very foreign to.

She doesn’t even know if she would ever venture towards there.

It was the absolute center of their world.

“Here,” Roxy whispered. “Put me down, Z.”

Zarek gently lowered her to the ground. The mates gathered around, looking at the empty field.

“It is a good clearing,” Kaelen admitted, looking around. “Good sightlines. Defensible. But Roxy… there is no shelter. We cannot camp here with a newborn.”

“We aren’t camping,” Roxy said, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

She stepped forward and opened the System interface. Her finger hovered over the [PURCHASE] button.

“Ready?” she whispered to herself.

She was screaming and wriggling around in excitement internally. I was so fucking made for this.

The ground beneath their feet groaned. The men immediately held their ground, trying to duck for any enemy, as Zarek scooped her into his arms, fearful that something might happen to his frail mate.

“No!” Roxy shouted over the noise. “Watch!”

From the center of the clearing, thick, dark roots burst from the soil, but they weren’t wood. They were stone. Massive pillars of grey granite spiraled upward, locking together.

Beams of Iron-Wood shot out of the ground, weaving themselves through the stone like thread, forming intricate lattice walls. Roof tiles made of slate materialized from the air like falling leaves, arranging themselves into sweeping, curved eaves that pointed toward the heavens.

It was terrifying and magnificent.

The mates stumbled back, eyes wide with fear. In seconds, the groaning stopped.

Standing before them was not a cabin. It was something that looked similar to a palace.

It was built in the style of the ancient Eastern empires from Roxy’s world, a multi-tiered estate with sweeping roofs, red-lacquered pillars, and intricate gates. It was enclosed by a high stone wall, and the front gate was a masterpiece of iron and wood, carved with the symbols of the Wolf, Tiger, Dragon, and Snake.

“What the fuck…” Syris cursed as he looked at the place in awe, not even realizing he had cursed, causing Roxy to giggle.

“Was this what your species can do?” Zarek suddenly breathed, looking at Roxy like she was a jewel he couldn’t name.

“It’s a blessing!” Roxy said quickly, her heart hammering as she saw their fear. She touched her nose, a nervous habit she hadn’t broken since childhood. “The Gods! The Beast God! He saw our family growing and… and he blessed us! He sent this down for Tanith!”

She looked at them with wide, pleading eyes. She had no choice but to lie, telling them that she purchased this from the system, or the existence of the system might actually cause more harm than good.

“It’s safe! I promise! The Gods want us to be warm!”

The mention of the Beast God settled them slightly. In this world, the divine was fearsome but respected. If the Gods built a house, you didn’t question it.

“A divine nest,” Torian breathed, walking toward the gate. He touched the iron. “It is solid and magnificent.”

“Come on,” Roxy urged them forward, eager to stop the questions. “Let’s get the babies inside.”

They pushed the massive gates open.

If the outside was impressive, the inside was paradise.

They stepped into a central courtyard. It wasn’t as cold as the outside. The geothermal heating kept the stone pavers warm and dry. In the center was a large, steaming pond filled with koi fish that danced around. A wooden bridge arched over it, leading to the main hall.

“Water,” Syris noted, walking to the edge of the pond. He dipped a hand in. “It is heated. This is… perfect for the children.”

Roxy led them through the sliding screen doors of the main house. The floors were polished wood, heated from beneath. The furniture was plush, low to the ground, and covered in silks that made Ren’s robes look like burlap.

“This way,” Roxy directed, acting as the tour guide in her own mystery mansion.

She led them down the East Wing.

“The Nursery,” she announced, sliding a door open.

It was a massive room, soundproofed and warm. There were four cribs, not cages, but soft, beautiful cribs, and three toddler beds shaped like clouds. A magical mobile floated in the center, casting soft starlight on the ceiling.

Kaelen and Ren laid the triplets down. Torian gently placed Tanith in the crib nearest the heater. The babies didn’t even stir; the room smelled of lavender.

“And here,” Roxy pointed to the door across the hall. “Drax.”

The boy, who was swaying on his feet with exhaustion, looked into the room. It had a desk, a bed piled with furs, and a window that looked out toward the training grounds.

He didn’t ask questions. He simply walked in, flopped face-first onto the mattress, and began to snore.

Roxy burst out laughing.

“He likes it,” Zarek noted, a hint of pride in his voice.

“Okay,” Roxy said, stifling a yawn that nearly cracked her jaw. “Babies are down. Drax is down. Now… us.”

She led her four mates, who were wandering around touching vases and marveling at the interior, toward the center of the house.

At the very heart of the manor stood a set of double doors carved with intricate floral patterns.

“The Master Suite,” Roxy announced, shaking her palm like she was presenting them a prize for an auction.

She pushed the doors open.

The room was large and beautiful. A fireplace roared on one wall, lighting up the space. But the most distinguishable part was the bed.

It was enormous. It was a custom-made, Emperor-sized bed that could easily sleep ten people. It sat on a raised platform, surrounded by sheer curtains.

“Finally,” Kaelen groaned, looking at the bed. “A sleeping space where I won’t get kicked in the kidney by a Tiger.”

“It is… acceptable,” Ren murmured, running a hand over the silk sheets, though his eyes betrayed his awe.

No one questioned why he was here for now, as if they didn’t notice him. And Ren didn’t bother to announce his presence.

“It is soundproofed,” Roxy added with a wink. “So we don’t wake the kids.”

The four men looked at the bed, then at Roxy, then at each other. A collective sense of relief and possession washed over them. They were safe. They were home. And for the first time, they all fit.

That is, until Torian had to spoil it, his head finally snapped to the slimy fox standing with them.

He snarled. “And what do you think you are doing here, Fox?!”
