The guest room no longer looked like a room. It looked like the aftermath of a natural disaster involving a tornado, a volcano, and a very localized earthquake.

Roxy didn’t know what time it was. She didn’t know if the sun was up or down. She only knew she was being fucked till she couldn’t even remember her own name.

“Zarek… please,” she sobbed, her head thrashing against the shredded remains of a pillow. “I can’t… I’m numb. I’m going to break.”

“You will not break,” Zarek growled, his voice a rough vibration against her ear. He was behind her, his large hands gripping her hips with bruising force, driving into her with a relentless, punishing rhythm. “You are forged in fire, Roxy. You are a Dragon’s mate.”

He wasn’t stopping. Neither of them were.

Kaelen was in front of her, holding her legs hooked over his arms, keeping her open for Zarek while he used his mouth to torture her clit.

They had been at this for hours. The Red Moon’s madness had receded from their minds, leaving them lucid, but the physical need to claim—to erase the scent of the Tiger, to re-map every inch of her territory as theirs—was insatiable.

Roxy stared up at the ceiling, her vision blurring. She was genuinely surprised she was still conscious. Her body felt stretched, sore, and thoroughly used, yet she was still going.

They collapsed into a heap of tangled limbs, sweat, and heavy breathing.

“If anyone…” Roxy wheezed, closing her eyes, “asks me to move… in the next ten hours… I will bite them.”

Kaelen let out a weak, wet chuckle and kissed her knee. “Sleep, little wolf. We will clean you up.”

The morning sun was brutally bright.

When the Tiger guards banged on the door to summon them to the Great Hall, Zarek almost incinerated the wood. But Roxy, fueled by spite and the System’s restorative nano-bots, managed to stand.

She looked like a wreck. Her lips were swollen, her neck was a canvas of purple bruises and bite marks, and she walked with a distinct limp. But she refused to look weak. She put on the spare dress from her bag—a simple blue cotton one that clashed violently with the gold of the Citadel—and marched out.

Zarek and Kaelen flanked her, looking murderous. They were fresh, energized by the night’s activities, and ready to kill anyone who looked at her sideways.

The Great Hall was already full.

Nobles, guards, and servants lined the walls. At the head of the room, on his ivory throne, sat King Torian.

He looked annoyingly perfect. His white hair was sleek, his robes pristine. When he saw Roxy enter, flanked by her scowling husbands, his face lit up with a blinding smile.

“The Mother!” Torian announced, spreading his arms wide.

He stood up and descended the steps, stopping just a few feet from her. He ignored Zarek and Kaelen completely.

“You look… radiant,” Torian purred, his eyes lingering on the bite mark Zarek had left on her neck. His jaw tightened slightly, but he masked it with a smile. “A little rough around the edges, perhaps. But nothing a bath cannot fix.”

“I’m fine,” Roxy said, her voice raspy. “Where are my children?”

“They are here,” Torian gestured.

A side door opened. Rix—the shadow wolf—walked in, looking bored. He was carrying Iris in one arm, while Drax and the twins waddled behind him. Syris, looking groggy and draped in a thick blanket, shuffled in after them, blinking in the bright light.

“Mama!” Drax yelled, running to hug her leg.

Roxy nearly collapsed with relief. She scooped Drax up, wincing as he squeezed her sore ribs.

“Now that we are all assembled,” Torian declared, turning to face the court. His voice boomed through the hall.

“Last night, the Red Moon rose. And under its light, a union was formed.”

Roxy stiffened. Oh no. Don’t say it.

“The Mother has graced the Citadel with her presence,” Torian continued, looking at Roxy with possessive adoration. “She has proven herself worthy.”

He reached out and grabbed Roxy’s free hand before Zarek could intervene. He raised it high.

“Therefore, I declare that in three days’ time, Roxy shall be crowned Empress of the Golden Citadel. She will rule beside me, and her children shall be our children.”

The silence in the hall was absolute.

Kaelen let out a sound that was half-growl, half-laugh. “You are delusional, Cat.”

Zarek stepped forward. “She is already a Queen. My Queen. She needs no title from you.”

Roxy glared at Torian, snatching her hand back. “I didn’t agree to this, Torian”

Torian’s smile didn’t waver. “You will see reason, my love. Why live in a hut when you can own a kingdom?”

“Because the hut doesn’t come with a suffocating ego,” Roxy snapped.

Torian’s eyes narrowed, but before he could respond, a commotion at the back of the hall drew everyone’s attention.

The heavy double doors banged open.

“Justice!” a voice shrieked. “I demand justice!”

The crowd parted.

Nala hobbled into the room.

She looked terrible. Her left leg was splinted and wrapped in bandages. Her arm was in a sling. Her face was bruised, one eye swollen shut, and her silk robes were torn and stained with dirt.

She leaned heavily on a servant, limping toward the throne with dramatic agony.

“Nala?” Torian frowned, stepping back up to his dais. “What is this? What happened to you?”

Nala fell to her knees at the base of the stairs, sobbing loudly. She pointed a trembling finger at Roxy.

“Her!” Nala screamed, her voice shrill and full of venom. “That… that witch! She tried to kill me!”

A collective gasp went through the court.

Roxy blinked, genuinely confused. “Excuse me?”

“She snuck into my chambers last night!” Nala lied, weaving a tale through her tears. “While you were resting, my King. She came with a dagger! She said she would not share the throne! She pushed me from the balcony!”

Zarek snorted. “My mate was a little busy last night. I can vouch for her whereabouts. Every. Single. Second.”

Kaelen smirked, crossing his arms. “Indeed. She didn’t have the energy to walk to the bathroom, let alone throw a Tiger out a window.”

But the court didn’t know that. They whispered furiously. An attack on a high-ranking noble was a death sentence.

“She lies!” Nala shrieked, looking at Torian with pleading eyes. “Look at me, my King! Look at my broken bones! Would I do this to myself? She is jealous! She is a savage from the woods!”

Torian looked at Nala. Then he looked at Roxy.

Roxy stood there, clutching Drax, looking exhausted but defiant.

Torian knew where Roxy was last night. He had felt her shudder underneath him. He knew exactly when she left his room. And he knew his guards had reported her entering the guest wing immediately after.

But Torian was a politician.

He walked slowly down the stairs until he stood in front of Nala. He looked down at her battered form.

“You say the Mother did this?” Torian asked softly. “With her own hands?”

“Yes!” Nala sobbed, clutching the hem of his robe. “She is a monster!”

Torian turned his head slightly, his icy blue eyes locking onto Roxy. There was no warmth in them now. Only a cold, calculating intelligence.

He looked back down at Nala.

“That is strange,” Torian murmured, his voice dropping to a whisper that echoed in the silent hall. “Because the Mother has no claws. And she has no scent of blood on her.”

He leaned closer to Nala, his voice darkening.

“But I smell Wolf on you, Nala. I smell the scent of a male wolf on your skin.”

Nala froze. Her eyes widened in terror. She had forgotten about Rix’s scent clinging to her after he choked her.

Torian straightened up, his expression unreadable.

“Are you sure,” Torian asked, his voice dropping low, “that it was Roxy who hurt you? Or are you lying to your King?”
