Chapter 350: The True Electra

Third-person POV

Seraphina didn’t move. She didn’t even breathe. She just stayed exactly as Electra had ordered, even though her legs were shaking and the blood running down her back had already soaked the waistband of her pants. Her body felt heavy, too heavy, and the world around her kept tilting every few seconds, but she forced herself to stay upright.

Then she felt it, Electra’s palm pressing against the sigil on her back.

It lasted only a moment. Maybe three seconds, maybe less. Her hand was warm, but it wasn’t painful, not like a burn, but more like a soft pressure that pushed through her skin and into something much deeper. Something that wasn’t physical at all, and then, just like that…

The pain vanished.

Completely.

Seraphina gasped and turned so fast she almost tripped over her own feet. She stared at Electra with wide, disbelieving eyes, and her hands flew to her back, touching the place that had been bleeding only a heartbeat ago.

There was nothing.

No pain, and no more blood, except the one that already soaked her back.

“You healed me,” Seraphina whispered, still breathless.

Electra stood in front of her, face blank and unreadable. The wind blew strands of hair across her face, but she didn’t even blink.

“That was pretty obvious,” Electra said, her tone cold.

Seraphina swallowed hard, and she couldn’t help but think of how the coldness in Electra’s voice cut deeper than any wound she had ever had. “But… why?” she asked quietly. “You don’t even remember me. Why bother?”

Electra didn’t blink, and her eyes didn’t soften. She looked at Seraphina the same way someone looked at a puzzle piece that didn’t fit. Nothing more.

“You said we have a bond,” Electra replied. “Until I figure out what it means and how to break it, I can’t risk you dying yet.”

Seraphina froze.

It felt like someone punched her straight in the chest. The worst part was that Electra didn’t say it with anger, and she didn’t say it with hate. She didn’t even say it with emotion. She simply said it like she was stating the weather.

Seraphina opened her mouth, wanting to say something, anything. To remind her, to snap her out of it, and to tell her how many nights she cried in that hospital bed even while she was in a coma. How scared she was and how much she loved her, but none of the words came.

Electra didn’t look at her long enough for the silence to matter. Her attention suddenly snapped to the side, where Jella’s shrill voice tore through the crowd like a whip.

“SHOOT THE RED-HAIRED GIRL! SHOOT HER!”

Electra turned her head lazily toward the balcony, as if the screaming was just annoying background noise. Seraphina flinched at the sudden shouting, especially because she knew the red-haired girl had to be her, but Electra barely reacted.

“Who is that person?” Electra asked, nodding in Jella’s direction.

Seraphina followed her gaze. Jella stood on the balcony with a twisted expression on her face, screaming orders at the guards below. Several men were scrambling to raise their weapons.

“That’s Jella,” Seraphina said quickly, still breathing hard. “All you need to know is that she hates you and wants you dead.”

Electra’s lips curved slightly, almost a smile, but not quite. A cold smirk.

“Interesting,” she said softly.

Seraphina’s heart tightened. Before she could say more, one of the guards raised his gun straight at her, and her eyes widened. She barely had time to gasp before the shot rang out.

The bullet flew fast, too fast for her weak body to move, but Electra moved.

She didn’t even seem to think. Her hand shot out, palm open, and she caught the bullet in midair. Just… caught it, like it was nothing more than a thrown pebble.

The metal sizzled against her skin and disintegrated into grey dust that slipped through her fingers and disappeared in the wind.

The guard stumbled back in terror, and the crowd erupted in screams, some people running, some recording, some frozen where they stood, but Electra remained still, lowering her hand slowly.

Her eyes shifted back to Seraphina, studying her face with a strange expression. As if she were trying to read something that wasn’t written on the surface.

Seraphina stared right back, heart pounding. “Electra… please,” she whispered.

Electra tilted her head slightly. “Please what?”

“Please remember me,” Seraphina wanted to say.

But she couldn’t. The words stuck in her throat.

Before she could answer, Jella’s angry voice boomed again from above.

“What are you fools doing? SHOOT HER AGAIN! SHOOT BOTH OF THEM!”

Chaos broke out. Several guards raised their guns again, hands shaking. Others hesitated, looking between Electra and Jella like they were trying to decide which one scared them more.

Electra didn’t look scared, she didn’t even look bothered. She just turned her head slightly toward Jella again, that tiny, cold smile still playing at the corner of her mouth.

“You said she hates me?” Electra asked Seraphina.

Seraphina nodded shakily. “Yes.”

Electra’s smile widened just a little. “Good.”

The guards fired again, and Electra moved before Seraphina even processed the sound. She stepped in front of her, one arm sweeping outward. A wave of heat burst from her like a shockwave, silent but blinding.

Every bullet turned to ash midair.

Every single one.

The crowd screamed again, some people fell backward, others ran, and a few fainted.

Seraphina just stared at Electra like she was seeing her for the first time. This was definitely not the Electra she knew, in fact, this Electra was something else entirely.

Something ancient, something powerful, and something frightening.

Electra turned her head toward Seraphina slowly.

“Stay behind me,” she said simply. “I don’t want you dying before I figure this bond out.”

It wasn’t affection, it wasn’t care, but it was protection.

Cold, instinctive, and absolute.

Seraphina swallowed hard and nodded, even though the ache in her chest almost made her fall.

Electra walked toward the balcony like she wasn’t surrounded by terrified guards and hundreds of shocked witnesses, and every step she took made the ground crack under her feet, light flickering around her ankles.

Seraphina watched her power flicker and wondered if this was the true Electra, the one she had only seen in the form of E, the phoenix side. The side that didn’t need to speak to demand respect. The side that didn’t care for consequences.

The side that didn’t remember her.
