Chapter 145: A Battle with the Federation Abomination Creature.
Walking inside the Federation hideout, Thoren did not lower his guard for even a moment. Three elite undead servants surrounded him, protecting him from all angles.
One could never be too cautious.
Leading the formation was the Level 18 undead Royalty Stonewall. It advanced steadily, its heavy footsteps echoing through the empty corridors like the march of an unstoppable fortress.
Thoren’s deep blue eyes scanned every corner as they moved deeper into the building.
The first room they entered was barren.
A long wooden table stood in the center, scattered with cups and empty plates. A few cabinets lined the walls, containing little more than food supplies and common utensils.
Nothing valuable. Nothing strategic.
They continued forward.
Room after room revealed the same emptiness. Sleeping quarters with neatly arranged bedding.
There were no documents. No maps. No treasures. No hidden vaults.
Nothing.
Thoren was not discouraged.
His objective had never been material wealth.
His target was Jareth, the Federation Police Chief.
Everything else was secondary.
They passed through a wide corridor lit by flickering torches. At the end of the corridor, a spiral staircase descended deeper into the mountain.
They moved down.
The lower level was no different.
Empty.
Utterly, unnervingly empty.
Thoren slowed slightly, his brows knitting together.
“Is it possible that those were all their men?” he murmured under his breath.
The resistance outside had been fierce, but it had collapsed far too quickly. For an organization that had dominated the first floor for decades, the hideout seemed strangely hollow.
Something was wrong.
Just as he prepared to descend even further, the ground trembled violently beneath his feet.
HOOOOWL!
A thunderous, inhuman sound erupted from deep within the mountain. It reverberated through the corridors, shaking the structure to its core. Cracks splintered across the stone walls.
Dust and pebbles rained down from the ceiling.
Thoren narrowed his eyes.
“What was that?”
He had known the moment Jareth retreated into the hideout that the man was planning something.
He would not flee without reason. Most likely, he had gone to activate a final measure, something hidden, something dangerous.
Perhaps a sealed monster.
Whatever it was, Thoren had no intention of retreating.
No matter what Jareth had prepared, he would crush it.
Instead of turning back, he quickened his pace, descending deeper into the mountain. His heart was pounding heavily not out of fear…
It was filled with curiosity.
He wanted to see what the Federation had been working on that could drive them to such depths of depravity that they used human beings as sacrificial offerings.
After descending another flight of stairs, the corridor widened into a massive underground chamber.
The space was enormous, carved directly from the heart of the mountain. At the center stood a colossal metal door.
An oppressive aura seeped from behind it.
It pressed against Thoren’s skin like invisible weight.
Before he could formulate his next plan…
BOOM!
A deafening explosion shook the chamber. The entire mountain quaked violently. Chunks of rock broke loose and crashed to the ground.
The cracks along the walls deepened, spreading like spiderwebs.
Thud. Thud.
Heavy footsteps echoed from within the smoke and falling debris.
From the dust cloud, a colossal figure emerged.
Thoren’s eyes widened.
His jaw lowered slightly not out of fear, nor awe of power, but shock at what he was seeing.
The creature was an abomination.
Its body was stitched together from countless mismatched parts. Massive limbs of varying sizes protruded at unnatural angles.. Pulsating runes glowed faintly along its grotesque body.
Its entire existence screamed wrongness.
Two fierce red eyes burned within its misshapen head, radiating fury and agony. It let out guttural grunts, as though its very life was a constant torment.
Standing before it, Thoren felt as small as an ant before a towering giant.
Suddenly, the creature turned its massive head and locked its crimson gaze onto him.
It roared.
The sound wave exploded outward, shaking the chamber and sending loose debris flying in every direction.
Thoren remained unmoved.
The corners of his lips curled slightly.
“So this is what they’ve been working on?” he said calmly.
“An abomination.”
A translucent system panel appeared before his eyes.
[???]
[???]
[Note: A creature that should not exist.]
Thoren’s gaze sharpened.
Even the system refused to provide details.
This was undoubtedly the result of forbidden human experimentation.
But why create such a monstrosity?
What purpose could justify such madness?
Though questions filled his mind, his response was immediate and decisive.
Whoosh!
A surge of necromantic energy erupted before him. From within the swirling darkness, a towering humanoid figure stepped forward.
The undead Storm Tyrant Crocodile.
The moment it emerged, the atmosphere inside the chamber shifted dramatically. The air seemed to ripple as two invisible forces collided.
The abomination’s red eyes flickered.
The undead Storm Tyrant’s hollow sockets burned with violent soul fire.
“Kill,” Thoren commanded mentally.
ROAR!
The two giants roared simultaneously and lunged at one another.
Outside the mountain, the Knight Order members waiting at a safe distance felt the ground tremble violently beneath their feet.
“What in the world is happening inside?” one of them asked, staring at the quaking mountain.
“I can’t even imagine,” another replied, his voice tense.
The massive mountain shook like a leaf caught in a raging storm. That alone was enough to make their imaginations spiral into terrifying possibilities.
BOOM! BOOM!
Inside the chamber, the Storm Tyrant collided head-on with the abomination. The impact shattered nearby stone pillars. Walls cracked and crumbled.
Deep craters formed across the chamber floor.
The abomination relied on brute force, swinging its enormous stitched limbs with reckless fury.
Its massive frame granted it terrifying physical strength.
But its movements lacked coordination.
There was no technique.
No skill.
The Storm Tyrant met the wild swing head on and countered with its massive tail.
CRASH!
The abomination was hurled into the wall. Stone exploded outward as the impact carved a massive indentation.
Roaring in rage, the abomination pushed off the rubble and charged again.
The Storm Tyrant activated one of its traits.
Chain Combo.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Its fists descended like torrential rain, slamming into the abomination’s torso repeatedly. Each strike forced the grotesque giant deeper into the fractured wall.
With a savage snap, the Storm Tyrant opened its massive crocodilian jaws and clamped down on one of the abomination’s oversized arms.
Crack!
With brutal force, it tore the limb free and flung it aside.
Its hollow eyes blazed with madness.
Yet it did not stop.
It pressed forward, unleashing punch after punch in relentless succession. The chamber shook violently as the abomination was driven deeper into the stone.
Dust filled the air.
Rock splintered.
The entire cavern trembled as though on the verge of collapse.
But then, Thoren noticed something unsettling.
There were no visible injuries.
Despite the devastating blows, the abomination’s body showed no meaningful damage. Its flesh seemed to absorb the impacts unnaturally, the glowing runes pulsing faintly along its stitched body parts.
“How is that possible?” Thoren muttered, his brow creasing.
Even after losing an arm, the creature did not appear weakened.
Its torn limb twitched on the ground, the runes flickering.
Thoren’s gaze hardened.
“I don’t care what you are,” he said quietly. “If your body can be separated… then I’ll cut you into pieces.”
Without hesitation, he issued another command.
The undead Royalty Stonewall surged forward to join the battle.
Its Peak Iron Grade weapon gleamed ominously under the dim light of the collapsing chamber.
“Let’s see,” he murmured, “if your body can withstand a Peak Iron Grade weapon.”
