Chapter 170: Breaking Through The City

Ethan paused for a moment, letting out a slow breath. They clearly had no intention of letting him in, even if they knew he came from LionArk.

“LionArk? Are you here for revenge? Alone? HAHA!”

“Don’t joke around. Go back and call your cowardly friends to attack us here!” one of the guards shouted.

Ethan’s eyes opened wide, glowing bright red in sync with the power of Bloodblade Ashura.

He bent his knees and took a medium stance. Ethan gripped his sword tightly, then swung it sideways in front of him.

A crimson slash shot forward at high speed. The guards looked shocked. They knew it was a default warrior skill, but they didn’t expect the intensity to increase that much.

Both of them tried to block the attack with their defensive skills, but Ethan’s Crimson Slash at level 50 made it almost impossible to endure.

A massive crimson explosion hit the west gate. The gate that had been shut was destroyed and collapsed from the blast.

The loud explosion startled many players, and every eye turned toward the west.

Ethan walked confidently into the city, stepping past the scattered body pieces of the gate guards of Black Scavenger City.

Each step he took echoed with bursts of energy and red lightning. Out of the crimson smoke came the silhouette of a man in the blue uniform of LionArk.

“W-Who is he?!”

“Is he the one who destroyed the city gate?”

“Horrifying! His strength is way above ours.”

Ethan stopped, his eyes locked forward at the players watching him with fear. He stabbed his sword into the ground and spoke loudly enough to shake all of them.

“If you’re not a member or affiliate of Scavenger, leave this city.”

“You damn bastard!” someone yelled.

A man holding a sword rushed at Ethan. The man wore silver armor, a Templar Knight. He jumped fast and swung his sword at Ethan.

Ethan saw his skill cooldown had reset, and he lifted his sword, unleashing Crimson Slash into the air to meet the attack.

But Ethan’s skill was far stronger. The sword projection shattered, and the crimson slash headed straight toward the Templar Knight.

“What?!” the man shouted in shock.

BLAST!

The second explosion burst in the sky, instantly bringing the man’s HP to zero. His body blew apart and rained down onto the ground.

Seeing Ethan’s brutality scared many players, and they ran out of the city. Now only the Scavenger party members and their affiliate guild remained.

They came with their usual basic class, assassin. The affiliate guild members had mixed basic classes, including the warrior from earlier.

“Ethan! You’ve gone too far!” shouted a man standing in the sky.

Ethan lifted his head, staring sharply at him, his brows narrowing with anger.

“You slaughtered a whole city. Who’s the cruel one between us?” Ethan asked.

“You talk too much!” they yelled.

Not only that man, but all the assassins on the rooftops jumped at Ethan at once. Ethan grinned wide, enjoying how they all charged at him together.

He stabbed his sword into the ground again, turning the city floor into a pool of blood that lowered the enemies’ attributes.

Their speed dropped, their strength weakened. They were trapped inside Ethan’s domain skill.

“What is this? Why is my strength decreasing?” several of them shouted in panic.

“Bloodflare Cataclysm!”

Ethan pulled his sword out with force, then dashed forward slashing them with basic attacks. His attack speed increased by 150% for twenty seconds, giving him a high chance to trigger critical hits.

Ethan struck them one by one, moving fast and hitting hard. The assassins tried to fight back, but their weakened stats made it pointless. They tried to escape, but they had lost their speed.

“AAAGHHH!”

Screams of pain echoed. A total of ten players trapped in Ethan’s Bloodflare Cataclysm died horribly. After twenty seconds, the domain faded.

The blood pool vanished, replaced by real pools of blood from the bodies of those Ethan killed.

To Ethan’s surprise, many Scavenger players were still inside the city. He looked up at the rooftops, clearly seeing many assassins aiming at him.

“ETHAN! You must die.”

Ethan leaped up, attacking them. He jumped from one rooftop to another, slashing them down. He killed several, and the impact caused buildings to burn or collapse.

The affiliate guild members didn’t dare fight. After seeing Ethan’s terrifying strength, they understood: this one man could match the entire Scavenger Guild alone.

If the affiliate guild fought him, they would be easy prey.

Ethan jumped from house to house, shocking everyone.

Scavenger’s party leader, Arnold, stepped out of the guild building guarded tightly by his men.

His eyes widened in disbelief at the sight of one man destroying the city, killing many, including Scavenger members.

Elsewhere, Ethan arrived in an open field where 25 assassins surrounded him.

Ethan had taken several slash hits from them, but the attacks weren’t enough to kill him, only leaving minor wounds.

“So you’re here? Then die in my hands!” Ethan shouted.

He stabbed Bloodblade Ashura into the ground again, turning the field into a blood pool. The ATK and Speed debuff hit all assassins around him, making it harder for them to fight.

At the same time, Ethan gained increased ATK and Speed, letting him strike hard and fast while jumping from one assassin to another.

What impressed Ethan the most was the 50% Cooldown Reduction. Right—while inside Bloodflare Cataclysm, all his skill cooldowns were cut in half.

Ethan took full advantage of the moment, spamming skills nonstop, firing Crimson Slash, using Ashura Rift, and smashing them with Skybreaker Leap.

The assassins screamed in agony, their limbs cut off and scattered across the ground. They begged Ethan for mercy, their bodies torn open.

Ethan’s LionArk uniform was soaked in their blood, their organs spilled after their stomachs split wide open.

He walked through them, stepping on stomachs, hearts, intestines, and every organ scattered in his path.

Bloodflare Cataclysm ended after twenty seconds. Ethan turned and saw the burning city swallowed by huge flames. Nothing could stop it.

Arnold was furious. He jumped from the Scavenger Guild building and landed in front of Ethan.

“YOU?! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!” Arnold screamed.

Ethan looked forward coldly and lifted his blood-covered sword, pointing it at Arnold.

“You’re their leader?” Ethan asked.

“I’m Arnold! Leader of the Scavenger Party Guild!”

Ethan stayed silent for a moment, then jumped forward fast, shocking Arnold. Arnold tried to block with his sword, but his weapon shattered, and Ethan’s blade sliced his stomach.

Arnold’s body flew sideways, crashing through burning houses. He groaned in pain as he saw his intestines spilling out, hanging from the sliced skin of his stomach.

Ethan rushed into the burning house and unleashed another crimson slash toward Arnold. Arnold tried to defend himself, but the fatal stomach wound and unbearable pain overwhelmed him.

BLAST!

The explosion from Crimson Slash hit Arnold directly. He died instantly, torn apart and unable to resist.

But Ethan didn’t stop. He walked through the flames and grabbed Arnold’s head, which was still attached to the upper part of his body. His arms, legs, and lower torso had been severed.

Arnold was dead, but Ethan needed to do something with him. He was sure the Scavenger assassins would never dare fight LionArk again after what happened to Arnold.

Ethan finally stopped attacking. Many players watched as Scavenger City burned and fell because of one man.

Even more shocking was Arnold, displayed and impaled on a spear as a symbol of terror.

“W-What the—”

Ethan turned his head, his body and face splattered with blood, shocking the players and making them tremble.

“Scavengers slaughtered LionArk City two months ago on this floor. Spread that news about what happened today. Let them know that I, EthanArk, am the last lion of LionArk.”
