Leon turned to him, confused. He had no idea why Ethan wanted a glass capsule, but the shopkeeper nodded and processed the transaction.

“Better than that,” Ethan replied with a grin.

Now he finally knew how to hatch the egg he’d gotten after defeating the Viper monster earlier.

“I guess I’m just destined to be alone in this game,” Ethan muttered. Leon didn’t know what to say.

“I understand,” Leon replied quietly.

As the two talked, a woman came rushing toward them from the end of the street—riding a lion as her mount. She looked panicked.

“Leon! It’s bad!”

“What happened?” Leon asked.

“Our base is under attack—by Twilight!” the woman shouted.

“WHAT!?”
