Chapter 12: Fortune favours The Bold: Part Three
~Boom!~
A wide area shockwave. Multiple times more powerful than any of the punches I had launched before.
4 omegas, all the alphas that were left along with all the normies that were left. It took them all out. The surrounding mine walls even started cracking and breaking apart as some chunks of Cold Iron even fell from them.
“Again.”
“Demolition Strike.”
I directed it towards the Boss. That sly dog, he responded quickly by jumping away from his “throne” of rocks. The same couldn’t be said about the 6 omegas that were left however so they all perished from the force of the shockwave.
“Now it’s just you and me…”
As I said that, he growled and charged at me. I responded in kind as our bodies then clashed. He jumped back a bit afterwards then jumped up to come down and attempt to crush me with his huge claws. I put both my hands out raising them and they collided with said-claws. He started pushing down to try and squish me so I circulated the Mana that was in my fists throughout both my whole arms instead. The Mana made it look like multiple snakes were constantly slithering around my arms and hands. Gathering a ton of strength, I increased my grip on his claws, digging my fingers into them as blood spat out. He squealed in response then tried to separate his claws from my hands but I was like ’Nuh-uh, fam’. So I kept digging my hands in until I could grab his bones from the inside. Pulled as hard I could then delivered a hard kick to his jaw as his teeth clashed with one another and the jaw broke entirely. I then let go of his claws in an attempt to jump him and launch a surprise attack but he quickly escaped by jumping backwards creating an incredible distance between us.
“Gotta say, you’re one big fella.”
That was no exaggeration. He was about five times bigger than omegas which were 50% bigger than alphas which were also 50% bigger than normies, and normies were a little over half my size. So that’d make him a little over five times my own size.
Green Mana started forming around his broken jaw and bleeding claws, the bleeding then stopped and his jaw healed back to normal.
“No way. A regeneration Skill? So it’s true that Dungeon Bosses actually possess Skills.”
To be more specific rather, in Dungeons Ranked F to B, only Bosses have at least 1 or more Skills while the normal monsters don’t have any. And in Dungeons Ranked A and above, all monsters including Dungeon Bosses have Skills, and the number of Skills that they have is determined by their position in the Dungeons’ hierarchies so naturally the Bosses would have more Skills than all the other monsters.
“It’s even theorized or rather, rumoured, that if a Warrior defeats a Boss alone then they’ll gain some if not all the Boss’ Skills depending on the compatibility between the Warrior and the Skills, but not a lot of people have actually done that for there to be sufficient proof, either some Warriors actually gained a new Skill and decided not to share that info or they didn’t get anything and just told it like it was. Well, time to confirm that right now, if I can get a regeneration Skill then hooray for me…”
After he finished regenerating, he charged at me, I responded in kind. To my surprise, his speed then increased drastically as grey coloured lightning covered his whole body, in his scarlet eyes, small green lights quickly sparked then dispersed. And he attacked with a slash using his right claw. My Bladework Skill which increased my Speed Stat by a thousand making it over 2000 allowed me to dodge the attack just in time by bending over backwards and sliding away. However the attack came very close to decapitating me. I got up and turned around to look at him.
“So that’s the power of the Great Werehyena, huh? That’s nuts. Three in total. A regeneration Skill, a speed Skill and a perception Skill that increases attack precision. I want them all!”
I ran full speed towards him, he may have been significantly faster than before but he was still slower than me overall, that last attack just caught me by surprise is all.
As I charged at him, he couldn’t react in time, I doubted he could even see me move considering I was moving at Mach-1 speed. I quickly appeared mid air in front of his head, jumped at it, rapping my arms around its neck and squeezing as tight as I could with the idea of strangling him to death. He struggled but didn’t die.
“Resilient bastard! Am I gonna have to cut off your head or something!? Fine then!”
I squeezed his neck even tighter. Hearing his bones crack and break, I hurriedly grappled his neck and yanked off his head from his body, the body then moved around vigorously for about a few seconds tops then he finally died.
“Finally!”
I got up afterwards, and stood on his corpse.
“Urgh, I’ve got my and Werehyena blood all over me. These clothes are gonna need some serious dry cleaning when I get back. Now then, eyyo! System! Job’s done, gimme a message, will ya!?”

“It devoured it!!? Ignoring the crazy coincidence that those eyes really are called Soul-Piercing Eyes. A Skill devouring another Skill? That’s new. So if there’s a high level of compatibility between Skills, the stronger one will devour the weaker one, turning it into its Sub-Skill, huh? I see.”
[Furthermore, Mana Capacity has increased by 2000. Strength has increased by 1500. Speed has increased by 1400. Health has increased by 1500 and Intelligence has increased by 1600.]

[Final rewards are being allocated. Subject has received 610 E-Rank monster cores, and one D-Rank monster core otherwise known as Mana Crystal and the title of Sole Survivor along with the Great Werehyena’s claws, canine and spine. Congratulations Warrior for clearing your first Dungeon! The Dungeon will close as soon as you exit it.]
“Holy guaca-fucking-mole! That’s a lot. I had forgotten about how Dungeon Bosses drop not just monster cores but also parts of their bodies that can be used to make artifacts and weapons. Man, the things I’m gonna with craft with all I’ve gained today, I honestly can’t wait!”
I quickly transported some of the Cold Iron that had fell out from the sides along with all the Boss’ drops that I had gotten into the Item Space.
“My Mana Capacity is still incredibly low, far from even the Maximum of F-Rank level. I wonder, what’ll happen once I reach it though. It might stop there and not advance any further ’cause of my locked Level Stat! If that turns out to be the case, what’ll I do then? Hopefully, reaching the F-Rank turns out to be the requirement to unlocking it. Well, I’ll have to cross that bridge once I get to it. Still though, this isn’t bad, my physical related Stats half way through entering C-Rank level so as long as Bladework is active, atleast two of them come very close. Even Brawler went up two whole Ranks at once! I knew it. High risk, high reward! Since I basically almost died, emerging victorious regardless brought about great gain. I even got new Skills and a new Special Attack.”
Electric Mana coating my body and acting as a shield against air resistance didn’t seem like it’d really play much of a role considering how my Strength and Health Stat made up for it though but all in all, with Hypermove, I could increase my speed drastically and with Resilient Regeneration, as long as my heart and brain are in tact, I wouldn’t have to worry about any injuries, external or internal.
“Soul-Piercing Eyes will work well with my Intelligence Stats too, specifically in increasing it which will then increase my efficiency in Mana manipulation plus Astral Unification, which is something I just made up on the fly also got turned to a genuine Skill as a Sub-Skill of Cultivator which even formed a small Dantian for me. There’s also a high possibility that Demolition Strike can be more powerful with fist related weapons. I could gain new Skills too. Ohh yeah! Now we’re cooking! Now then, I’ve spent way too much time here, time to leave this Dungeon.”
Bearing a colourful, childlike smile on my face, I made my way to the portal I previously used to enter the Dungeon in the first place.
“To think, I really cleared an entire E-Rank Dungeon on my own, and on my first try at that! Maybe just maybe, I can actually survive in this crazy eff’d up world.”
