Chapter 57: The One You Should Fear: Part Three

A large amount of Mana starts to emerge from my body.

Noticing it, my opponent, number three stops his electric laced assault as if growing wary. I raise my head and look straight at him, eye to eye, he takes a step back in response.

“What’s wrong?” I ask. “Ey, number three? Why so cautious?” A very sinister smirk laces my face. “What happened to that confidence you had earlier? Is reality sinking in? It’s a little too late for that don’t you think?”

“Y-you! You think I’m scared of you!? Hiyya!” He yells as he sends five of his threads at me from my right, coursing with electricity, moving at over five hundred times the speed of sound.

In an instant, I immediately catch them all with my left hand while still holding First Dawn with it.

“What!” He yells in disbelief.

“Man… I’ve always wanted to do this… Get over here!” I pull his threads, ultimately pulling him as he’s sent flying straight at me. Letting go of his threads, I clench my fist, tightening my grip on my trusty blade, First Dawn, then launch a single horizontal slash.

~Swing!~

Number three then falls down head first behind me after losing his momentum.

~Thump~

And in front of me lay what I cut off.

“Karhh, m-m-my…m-my…my leeeegs!” He squeals in pain noticing his inability to stand back up.

“Y-you, you monster!” He shouts. “You cut off my legs!”

“Oh, you noticed.”

“What are you talking about! W-who the hell wouldn’t notice something like that!?”

I chuckle. “Heh, yeah, I guess you’re right.” Then turn his body over to face upward.

“… You’re insane… Do you really think…that this is some laughing matter? Killing three members of the Reinhardt Family. Do you really think ’THE’ Andrew Reinhardt will just let you go after that!?” He asks.

“Jeez, first it was Zeke’s crew with him, now it’s you with this Andrew fella? Y’all really love kissing ass don’t you?”

“… ’Andrew fe-’, ’kissing ass’? I see now. It’s the only thing that makes sense. You truly don’t know who the Great Lord is, do you?”

“Not at all.” I answer him nonchalantly. “Is he really that scary?”

“Hah… Scary doesn’t even begin to cut it.” He says. “He’ll hunt you down. You, your friends, family, everyone you’ve ever cared about, then he’ll make you watch as he slowly tortures them before he kills them all right in front of you. And then, after he’s completely plunged you deep in despair, he’ll-kargh!” I draw my blade into his chest to shut him up.

“That’s enough ass kissing, okay? You guys really got it twisted, you know?” I say.

“Kuek… O-oh yeah? Urk… H-how so?” He asks painfully, a seemingly forced condescending smirk masking his face.

“Well, you see, Andrew’s the one who should be scared of me. Not the other way around… I’ll show you…just who, between me and Andrew…is the one you should fear.”

I activate my Resilient Regeneration Skill as all my injuries heal.

Number three can’t help but be amazed as even my arm grows back. His smirk from before is instantly turned to an expression of what looks like the combination of both horror and awe. Even the hair that got fried by the electrocution from his threads grows back in a matter of seconds.

“T-that… That can’t be! An Artifact!? Or were you actually a Priest Class Warrior this entire time!”

“None of the above.” I reply. “This is all the work of a Skill.”

“Impossible!” He shouts. “Regeneration Skills are the rarest of the rare! To think that you, who’s not even S-Rank could have it is-”

“Yeah, well I do have it so suck on that.” I retort with a pout as I circulate my Mana to my clothes, erasing the damages to my suit, making it heal.

“Man… Gotta say, I’m loving this Magic Armor. Even if they get damaged, they can easily get completely repaired by just imbuing them with Mana. They don’t stay dirty, smelly or stained so there’s no need to wash them either.”

I’m now back to being as clean as I was before the fight even started. The same can’t be said about my opponent however. I can tell he’s wearing Magic Armor as well but he doesn’t have the strength to imbue it with Mana to repair its damages. Additionally, not only is he missing an arm and both legs, there’s a blade sticking out of his chest while he simply just lies there waiting to die. So yeah, today’s just not his day.

“There, there sport, I’ll make it all go away, I promise…” I look around the soccer field to find his arm, mine and his legs, all of which were cut off during the battle. I then place them all on his body, yank off his threads from his left hand, then take my blade out of his chest.

“Kargh!” He wails in pain. A fitting response. “Urk…what are you doing?”

“Getting rid of the evidence.” I answer nonchalantly.

“Evidence?” He asks.

“Yeah, I’m about to turn you to ash now so uhh…any last words? No? Okay then, bye!”

“W-wait!-”

“-Nope.” I conjure out a ball of fire, compress it to the size of a button then launch it towards him. He wails as he burns alive.

“Damn it. Still nowhere near Uncle Chadwick’s level. I was hoping to turn him to ashes instantly but it seems like this will last for at least three minutes.”

I wait until the flames dissipate then blow wind around the ashes remaining to scatter them around.

“There. Now that that’s done…” I take the threads left scattered around the whole field and transfer them to the Item Space as well as First Dawn. “I’ll see what I do with those when I do…”

I then look around. The soccer field’s a mess.

Anyway. I leave the park seeing as I’m too mentally exhausted to even try and deal with it all.

“I’m sure Uncle Chadwick will figure something out.” A message pops up after I jump the park’s gates and start heading back to the hotel.
