Chapter 49: Chapter 49: New Upgrades
[ Eren’s POV ]
I was moving toward my next match.
The three girls trailed somewhere behind me, but I didn’t care. I walked fast. Faster than necessary.
Because I was completely pissed right now.
The previous day had fucked up all my expectations.
I had walked out of that arena thinking there would be respect. Or at the very least, fear. I had displayed power. Dominated my opponents. Put on a show that should have made everyone remember my name.
But no.
Those motherfuckers in the competitor’s camp didn’t give a single shit about me.
It was understandable, I suppose. My opponents hadn’t held any powerful titles. They were weak. Nobodies. Defeating them wasn’t exactly an achievement worth celebrating.
But still. I had wanted attention.
I had been roaming around the camp that evening. Or to be more precise, I had been on a mission. Pussy hunting. Searching for any willing participant who might appreciate a champion’s company.
And then I met Celestine.
The bad day instantly turned into a worse day.
Before I could execute a tactical retreat, she had proposed that I stay at her house.
I had declined. Told her I was a down-to-earth kind of guy. That I would stay like everyone else in the common tents.
But then she mentioned that two more girls were staying there.
Thalia and Freya.
My stupid heart had raced. My mind had immediately conjured images. Fantasies. A night with the elf bombshell. Her cold exterior melting under my touch. Or Freya that icy thief finally breaking her frigid demeanor.
Both of them were so cold. So distant. It would have been incredibly satisfying to shatter that icy wall.
So I accepted. Shamelessly. Without a second thought.
Celestine had been confused by my sudden change of heart. But then that fool had gone into full jolly mode.
And then I regretted that decision.
I didn’t get to sleep with any of them.
I didn’t get a single wet pussy.
That place wasn’t just a house with one or two rooms. It was a fucking mansion. A villa with more bedrooms than I could count. So naturally, I slept alone. In my own isolated corner of the building.
They had even ignored me for most of the evening.
Celestine was nice enough. Chatty. Friendly. But those two cold-blooded animals barely acknowledged my existence.
When I had asked them what they thought of my match, fishing for compliments, obviously they had responded with questions of their own.
What did I want from this competition? What was my motive behind all of this?
How the hell was I supposed to answer that?
Tell them it aligned with my quest objectives? That I wanted to live out my own fantasy of that academic slop? That I was trying to get rich through betting? That I desperately needed immediate pussy?
After much deliberation, I had combined all those reasons into a single answer.
“I’m here for my amusement.”
All three jaws had dropped.
Thalia had gotten up immediately. Hissing with disgust. And left the room without another word.
Nothing had escalated after that. I didn’t receive the deserving pussy as a reward for my victory. The night had been utterly wasted.
I slept alone. Staring at the ceiling. Thinking about sneaking into one of their rooms. Seducing them with my natural beauty. Or maybe purchasing something useful from a shop like an aphrodisiac perhaps.
But then I had realized something.
It was just my mind talking. Driven by points. Driven by rage. Driven by frustration.
From deep inside, I didn’t actually want it.
It felt forced.
What I needed was genuine sex.
Celestine was under seventeen. A minor. Therefore, she wasn’t on my target list. That was a line even I wouldn’t cross.
Freya and Thalia were both of age. Both cold. Both constantly insulting me. Bullying an innocent soul like myself.
But instead of seeking revenge, instead of showing them their places–my heart had refused.
I didn’t understand why.
Then the realization had hit me.
Genuine sex? What the fuck was that?
I had literally manipulated my own mother into sleeping with me. I had seduced the maid Angelica through calculated moves. I had forced myself on my aunt and grandmother.
And why had I even brought up the underage factor for Celestine? Back on Earth, I hadn’t cared about age. If a girl had a hole, she was fair game.
So why was I feeling this way now?
Was it the emotions of this body I had taken over? Some remnant of the original Eren’s conscience bleeding through?
Or was it the eight years of suppressed desires finally manifesting in strange ways?
Nah I don’t think so I have same feeling same dark thoughts.
Then why?
A dark thought had crossed my mind.
’Don’t tell me I’m only attracted to MILFs now.’
No. That couldn’t be it.
Maybe it was something else entirely.
I pushed those thoughts aside from yesterday.
The past was the past. What mattered now was the present.
My fight.
I entered the arena with my battle axe resting on my shoulder.
Thalia walked beside me. Silent. Focused. A completely different person from the broken girl I had seen during our first match.
In front of us stood our opponents.
One was tall. Regal. Elegant in a way that screamed royalty.
The prince of the Elven Kingdom. Thalia’s cousin from what Celestine had told me.
Beside him stood another boy. Shorter. Less confident. His eyes darted around nervously, refusing to meet anyone’s gaze.
Poor bastard. He was my direct opponent. And I already had a special place reserved for him in my plans.
The announcer’s voice echoed across the arena. “Combatants! Prepare yourselves!”
All four of us pulled our summons.
I summoned both Marcus and Zenos. Crimson and azure energy swirled as they materialized on either side of me.
I looked across the field.
They had one summon each.
Before the match officially began, I activated my ace.
Appraisal Sight.
The cooldown had finally reset. I had ten seconds to gather as much information as possible.
I focused on the prince’s summon first.
A tall elf with a sleek ponytail materialized beside the royal. He wore light mithril armor with a high collar, paired with a long flowing coat. In his hands gleamed his weapons.

SUMMON ANALYSIS
─────────────────────
Vaelis — Rank: B
Weapon: Twin Crescent Sabers
► One silver (Waxing) — Lighter,
optimized for speed
► One black (Waning) — Heavier,
designed for impact
► Blades curved like crescent moons
Skills: Swordsmanship
─────────────────────
I was shocked.
Not because of the high rank. B-rank was impressive, certainly. Far above anything I had faced before.
But the skill.
“Swordsmanship.”
What the fuck did that even mean?
He had swords. Obviously he would use swordsmanship. That wasn’t a skill, that was just stating the obvious.
Skills were supposed to be unique. Special abilities that set a summon apart.
Unless…
Unless he was so ridiculously skilled that he didn’t need any flashy techniques. His mastery of the blade alone was enough.
It was basically a “fuck off” message written in stat form.
I quickly shifted my gaze to the other summon.
A malnourished man stood beside the timid boy. He wore tattered chainmail and a cracked helmet. Several teeth were missing from his mouth. His weapon was a rusted, bent spear that looked like it might snap at any moment.

SUMMON ANALYSIS
─────────────────────
The Penal Soldier — Rank: C
Weapon: Rusted, bent spear
Skill: [Shield Wall]
► Summons a spectral shield
─────────────────────
Damn.
This pathetic-looking summon was the same rank as Zenos.
And the prince’s summon was even higher.
I looked at my own spirits.
Before coming to this match, I had fed all my gold coins into the system. Every single one. I knew the level of opponent would rise with every round, and I needed every advantage I could get.
I opened my mental shop interface.
Checked my current balance.

CURRENT RESOURCES
─────────────────────
Gold Coins: 9,200
Gooning Points: 110
─────────────────────
Seeing all that money—my blood and sweat transformed into digital currency being prepared for sacrifice…
It hurt.
It genuinely hurt.
But it was for a greater good.
