Chapter 34 Overdid It Again

The massage went on for more than ten minutes before Wang Feng stilled his movements. When he deactivated his X-ray vision, his mind felt incredibly heavy. He had not slacked off even once for the past ten minutes. He had given everything in his attempt to alleviate Bei Yunxue’s pain.

It was that single-mindedness, however, that caused the unbearable pain he was feeling right now. He knew that he overdid it again. In fact, he had done so to a much greater degree compared to a few days ago. It felt like a massive rock was pressing down on his brain. Even his consciousness had become muddled.

Continual use of his X-ray vision to scrutinize objects on the molecular scale was extremely taxing.

Raising his head and glancing at Bei Yunxue, Wang Feng noticed that she had already fallen asleep. He did not disturb her. After covering her up with a blanket, Wang Feng plodded out of the room with heavy steps.

The moment he closed the door to Bei Yunxue’s bedroom, he was hit by a surge of vertigo; everything in his head was spinning. He could no longer bear the heaviness in his mind. He collapsed onto the floor with a loud “smack”.

He had no idea how much time had passed when he woke up. Outside, the sky was a smear of scarlet; night was approaching.

His brain felt heavy, as if it were filled with lead. Even the slightest movement could cause his head to spin.

There was a vague sting on his cheek, like a burning, scorching sensation.

The room was very quiet. He caught a whiff of fragrance next to his nose. Wang Feng studied room’s setup and realized that he was not in his own room at all. Instead, he was lying in Bei Yunxue’s bed.

This time, in order to ease Bei Yunxue’s pain, he had severely overdone; so much so that even his X-ray vision was temporarily lost.

About an hour or so into his training, the door opened. Bei Yunxue came in with a basin of water.

She seemed to be fully healed up now, though Wang Feng had to conk out for God knows how long in exchange for her current well-being.

Bei Yunxue cried out in surprise when she noticed Wang Feng’s open eyes. “Ah, you’re finally awake.”

They found Wang Feng passed out in front of her door early in the morning following the day he had helped her. The state that Wang Feng was in when they found him had shocked them greatly.

His face was pale and entirely bloodless. Even his breathing was so weak that it was barely audible. Had it not been for Tang Airou’s knowledge in first-aid, they might have to send Wang Feng to the hospital.

“Sister Xue, how long was I out for?” Wang Feng asked, looking at Bei Yunxue.

“Around two days, I guess. You have no idea how terrified I was,” Bei Yunxue said, placing the wash basin aside before she sat down beside Wang Feng. Worry and alarm lined her face.

“I’m alright now. I’ll recover after a day or two,” Wang Feng said. Just then, Bei Yunxue smacked a hand on her head as she realized something. “Wait, hold on. I’ll prepare something for you to eat.”

She was already leaving the room amidst her speech. A smile revealed itself on Wang Feng’s face. It felt different to be fussed over by another person.

He was indeed very hungry after being unconscious for two days. Training in the art of Qi Gathering was a far cry than what was portrayed on TV, which involved the practitioner going into starvation mode. Even while in training, his body still relied on food for fuel.

Not long after that, Bei Yunxue brought the food. The food came in copious portions and with lots of high protein meat. There were also chicken soup and the like. The sight of them had Wang Feng salivating.

After gobbling down the food hastily, Wang Feng did feel a little bit better.

“Sister Xue, did you make all these?” Wang Feng asked suddenly, raising his head.

“Ah?” Bei Yunxue jumped at the question. After that, her face reddened slightly and she said, “I… I can’t cook. I bought these yesterday.”

“No wonder it tasted so familiar, like that restaurant in front of our district,” Wang Feng said slowly, smacking his lips.

“By the way, Sister Xue. Why does my face hurt so much? Can you help me take a look and tell me what’s wrong?” Wang Feng said, pointing at his face.

His face did feel a bit painful. Could it be another side effect of his X-ray vision?

“Um… I think it’s better if you look at it yourself in front of the mirror,” Bei Yunxue said, completely avoiding the question. She cleared away the plates hastily and then left the room.

When Bei Yunxue left, Wang Feng grumbled to himself softly before he slowly got out of bed.

He stared into the mirror, which showed his red face. In his rage, his nose twisted into a grotesque angle.

Now he knew why his face hurt so much. His entire face was covered with marks the size and shape of a palm. There were even red lumps as a result of endless pinching.

Needless to say, this was most definitely the work of another person. The only people staying in the entire villa were the three of them. It was impossible for Wang Feng to hit himself, and he was sure that Bei Yunxue would never hit him. The only remaining person who could possibly do this… was Tang Airou, that crazy woman.

Could it be that she had subjected him to bouts of vicious torture while he was out? At the thought, Wang Feng felt a little overwhelmed by a barrage of conflicting and inexpressible emotions. It was trying to weep but the tears just would not come.

“You need to forget everything you’ve seen!” Bei Yunxue shouted all of a sudden.

“I never saw anything,” Wang Feng said, raising his brows.

“You…” Bei Yunxue was furious beyond words.

“Haha,” Sounds of carefree laughter emanated from Wang Feng’s lips, though he did not continue his teasing. Instead, he made a beeline towards his room.

In the bathroom, Bei Yunxue, whose face was still sporting a full blush, cursed Tang Airou, “Tang Airou, you d*mn b*tch. This is all your fault.”

She never had to guts to wear these revealing underwear at all. But Tang Airou’s incessant coaxing and nagging had worn down her resistance and she ended up buying these yesterday.

What she never saw coming was for Wang Feng to discover them on the very first day she wore them. Gosh, how would she even look him in the eye after this?

At the thought, her blush deepened further and her heart filled with shame.

In his room, Wang Feng checked his phone and realized that he had numerous missed calls. One of them was from his mother. The rests were from He Tian.

Wang Feng barely had to think to know why his mother had called him. He did not bother with returning his mother’s call; he was afraid that his ears would sport a new set of calluses and blisters if he did.

Wang Feng did find it a bit strange for He Tian to leave him so many calls.

He called He Tian’s phone, which was quickly picked up.

“Big Brother He, you’ve been looking for me?” Wang Feng asked.

“You brat. You never picked up any of my calls for the past two days. I thought you’ve gone missing or something,” He Tian half-chided through the phone, though his tone did not sound accusatory.

“I had a few things to take care of for the past two days. I didn’t have my phone with me. So, what is it?” Wang Feng repeated his question.

“I wanted to inform you that our master will be receiving a VIP a few days from now. He wants you to drop by and learn a few things. The meeting will be held in our building. Just come here straight when you’re there,” He Tian said. Wang Feng was mildly surprised at what he heard.

His master was none other than that scary old man he had met before. Despite being advanced in age, that old man’s combat prowess was far too terrifying. Deep down, Wang Feng knew that he was far from being a match for the old man.

Wang Feng never did find out about the old man’s true identity. Other than the fact that he was a complete badass, Wang Feng knew nothing else about the old man.

Wang Feng accepted the invitation without giving it much thought. “Don’t worry. I’ll be there.”

He had no idea who this VIP was. But if he had been asked to attend, then it was most likely something good. This would be a great opportunity for him to become even stronger.
