Chapter 46 Psycho Killer

After numerous failed attempts to free herself, Bei Yunxue eventually gave up the struggle. Instead, she rested her head against Wang Feng’s chest, listening quietly to his heartbeats.

The sound was highly rhythmic, as if it were some kind of lullaby. In her exhaustion, Bei Yunxue had quickly forgotten about the stinky alcohol smell on Wang Feng’s body. Pillowing her head on Wang Feng’s chest, she fell into a deep sleep.

When Wang Feng woke up the next day, the first thing he realized was that his head was killing him; it felt heavy, as if someone had filled up his entire skull with lead.

Not only that, but he also felt a little breathless due to the huge weight pressing down on his chest.

However, he was instantly caught off guard when he saw Bei Yunxue practically lying on top of his chest. It was beyond his imagination that he had spent an entire night together with Sister Xue, and in such intimate posture at that.

Right now, he could feel the two soft mounds of flesh pressing against his lower abdomen as well as the heat coming from Bei Yunxue’s breaths.

Gently, he removed his arms from her body, and immediately, he frowned; he realized that he smelled like crap. He honestly had no idea how Sister Xue had managed to endure his intolerable smell for an entire night.

Gently, he shifted and repositioned Bei Yunxue on the bed and draped a blanket over her sleeping form. After that, he climbed out of bed slowly.

He went to the bathroom and took a cold shower, which immediately made him more alert. He had no idea how Sister Xue ended up falling asleep in his arms, though he assumed that it was because of something he had done.

Indeed, he had gotten totally wasted yesterday. She must have dragged him all the way to bed last night.

Under normal circumstances, Bei Yunxue should be awake at this hour. Heck, she should probably be back with their breakfast by this time.

Today was the exception. Last night probably wore her out, that must be why she was sleeping in. That thought caused Wang Feng to feel a pang of guilt.

He rushed through his morning routine and then changed into a set of clean clothes. He left the villa district. Bei Yunxue had always been the one who brought him breakfast. Since she was still asleep today, Wang Feng figured it was time for him to return the favor.

Shortly into his journey, Wang Feng realized, with much embarrassment, that although he had been staying in No.1 Zhu Cheng for quite some time, he had never been out to get breakfast before. He had absolutely no clue where the place was.

On the way back, Wang Feng found himself to be in a good mood, whistling as he walked. It was rare indeed for him to go out to get their breakfast. He assumed that this gesture of his would make Sister Xue very happy.

Opening the door, Wang Feng heard the sound of running water in the bathroom. “Sister Xue must be awake,” he thought.

Wang Feng set the table and then sat there with his chin in his palm. He gazed quietly in the direction of the bathroom. To say that a freshly-showered Sister Xue was pretty would not do her enough justice at all; he was sure that she would look like a frigging goddess when she came out.

Soon, the sound of water in the bathroom stopped. A minute later, Bei Yunxue, the beauty extraordinaire, emerged from the bathroom.

People were absolutely right to claim that a woman looked the most beautiful after a bath. When applied to someone like Bei Yunxue, the truth of that claim would reach a whole new level indeed.

Bei Yunxue wore a pair of silk pajamas, through which Wang Feng could see the outlines of her nipples. He did not have to be a genius to figure out that she was wearing absolutely nothing under her pajamas. “God, she is so f*ck*ng hot,” Wang Feng thought as he tried his best to prevent blood from spraying out from his nostrils right then and there.

Bei Yunxue had just washed her hair, so her hair was still damp and peppered with stray water droplets. Seeing her like this, Wang Feng felt a surge of feral need clawing his insides. His crotch responded instantly.

“You f*ck*ng pervert!” Wang Feng chided inwardly, tearing his gaze away. He could stare at other women all he wanted without holding anything back, but he would never allow himself to do that to Bei Yunxue. Bei Yunxue alone was the exception.

He did not know the precise reason for his scruples. He just knew that he should not be doing it to her; it was as if he had begun seeing Bei Yunxue not only as someone he liked, but also as someone he respected deeply.

Anyhow, it was an ambivalent feeling. Wang Feng did not even know how to explain it.

Bei Yunxue blushed right down to her neck when he noticed the heated look that Wang Feng had thrown at her just moments ago. She instantly thought of last night, the way she had spent an entire night in Wang Feng’s arms.

Even if nothing happened between them last night, they had still spent the night together. In the past, Bei Yunxue had never interacted much with adult men; and yet she had so casually spent the night with Wang Feng. It felt surreal, even to herself.

Right now, she really wanted to dig a hole for herself and then jump straight into it; she was too mortified.

Panicking, Bei Yunxue hightailed it upstairs. Her heart was racing like crazy, as if she was struggling with her guilty conscience.

After changing into her normal clothes, she had no choice but to head back downstairs. After all, it would be unreasonable for her to stay upstairs the entire time. She had to face this issue sooner or later.

Her face was so red that it looked like a ripe apple; Wang Feng felt an impulse to rush over to take a bite.

“Sister Xue, hurry up. Have some breakfast,” Wang Feng said calmly. He did not intend to keep teasing her.

The person who had come through the door was none other than Tang Airou. After spending the entire night on duty, she was now exhausted to the core. She did not even have time to have dinner last night.

When she got home and smelled the aroma of food, she rushed to the dining table instantly and, without another word, began devouring the food on the table. She ate without any scruples at all, as if nobody was even there.

“Tang Airou!” Wang Feng growled, starting at her coldly.

He was enraged. He had put so much effort into preparing this lovely breakfast for Sister Xue, only to have it ruined by this crazy b*itch, Tang Airou.

He and Sister Xue had not even had a single bite yet.

“What do you want?” Tang Airou did not even raise her head at Wang Feng’s voice. Instead, she shoved a piece of bread into her mouth with her beautiful hand.

“Nothing. Go ahead and eat,” Wang Feng said. Tang Airou really did look like she was famished, so Wang Feng did not try to stop her. Like it or not, she was still a woman he had prior skin contact with. How could he allow her to stay hungry?

“I’ll help myself then,” Tang Airou said. She did not have time to bicker with Wang Feng. Tang Airou, who had been hungry for an entire night, soon obliterated a good two-thirds of the food on the table.

After a while, Tang Airou raised her head. That was when she noticed Wang Feng and Bei Yunxue’s behavior; they stared at her for a while before giving each other helpless looks. “Why are you guys looking at me like that?” Tang Airou asked, suddenly feeling abashed.

Well, her table manners might have been a tad bit appalling just now.

Then again, she was fine with her best friend’s stare. But when she noticed that Wang Feng was staring at her too, Tang Airou glared him coldly. “Keep staring and I’ll dig out your eyeballs,” she said viciously.

“Why don’t you come here and try it, then?” Wang Feng glanced at Tang Airou in amusement. After that, he leaned back in his chair.

“You think I won’t?” Tang Airou’s glaring eyes grew wider. She could not believe what Wang Feng had just said.

“Ugh! Will you two stop acting like this?” Bei Yunxue intervened quickly when she saw that they were about to come to blows again.

“I didn’t provoke her,” Wang Feng said with a shrug.

“Fine. For Xiaoxue’s sake, I won’t give you shit today.” Tang Airou’s tone changed all of a sudden. “Come. Let’s go somewhere and chat. Ignore this pervert,” Tang Airou said, slinging her arm around Bei Yunxue’s shoulders.

Bei Yunxue gave a wry laugh and then allowed herself to be dragged forcefully by Tang Airou towards the living room.

Wang Feng did not bother to eavesdrop on their conversation. Lazily, he helped himself to the food on the table. Picking a fight with a lunatic like Tang Airou was not worth it anyway. Anything else could wait after he had filled his stomach.

Before Wang Feng could finish his meal, he heard Bei Yunxue’s shouting voice. “You can’t be serious! You mean there’s a psycho killer lurking around in Zhu Hai City?”

“Yeah. Six women had fallen prey to him already. We’re busting our asses day and night trying to crack this case,” Tang Airou said, her voice sounding a bit dejected.

The killer was very clever; no evidence or traces was left behind in every crime scene. That was why they had no real lead despite the fact that the entire police force had been working overnight yesterday.

“You won’t be in danger, right?” Bei Yunxue asked worriedly.

“Don’t worry. I’ve got a team with me, how much danger will I be in? You, however, should avoid going outdoors too often. This killer targets beautiful women,” Tang Airou said, though her voice suddenly became inaudible near the end.

Still, Wang Feng heard every word Tang Airou had said courtesy of his superior hearing.

Apparently, this killer was a legitimate psychopath who first murdered the women before raping their corpses. Wang Feng suddenly found himself losing all his appetite upon hearing such sick behavior.

Wang Feng had heard of sickos like this before, but only on TV. He did not expect to see them appearing in real life.

“Geez, he’s that scary?” Bei Yunxue asked, her face turning pale. Tang Airou’s words had obviously startled Bei Yunxue significantly.

Seeing that she had scared Bei Yunxue out of her wits, Tang Airou quickly placated, “It’s alright. Just avoid walking in dark corners and such. This guy won’t risk attacking you in open space.”

Just then, Wang Feng came into the living room. “Sister Xue, don’t worry. As long as I’m alive, I promise you that I won’t let anyone hurt you,” he said solemnly.

Bei Yunxue blushed at Wang Feng’s proclamation and quickly lowered her head.

“Go away, you pervert. This is none of your business,” Tang Airou said in annoyance.

“Look at you, worrying about others. I suggest you worry more about yourself,” Wang Feng said, his gaze going back and forth between the two mounds on Tang Airou’s chest. Panic rose within Tang Airou.

“Whatever. I’ll leave you guys to it. I’m going to rest,” Tang Airou said when she could no longer endure Wang Feng’s heated stare. She ran upstairs.

“Sister Xue, come have breakfast,” Wang Feng said, which earned him a low “mm” from Bei Yunxue.

The two of them did not have much appetite after hearing Tang Airou’s account of the murders. They ate a measly amount before abandoning the meal altogether.

Wang Feng did not head out after breakfast; he wanted to make full use of his time to train. Bei Yunxue, on the other hand, planned to go shopping for clothes. Wang Feng did not offer to tag along.

Wang Feng was not too worried about her being in danger since it was still day time. Reasonably assured of her safety, he went back to his room.

Nothing eventful happened in the villa throughout the day. The lunatic, Tang Airou, did not bother Wang Feng since she was conked out the moment she went into her room.

Bei Yunxue returned at the brink of dusk, but with a bunch of big and small bags hanging on one arm. She bought clothes for herself as well as Tang Airou. She had even picked out a few shirts for Wang Feng, which had Tang Airou whining and grumbling for a long time.

Then again, since she was in the middle of a murder investigation, she only had time to shoot a few glares at Wang Feng before hurrying out the door.
