Chapter 10: 10. Aura Farm

After Yuki stepped out of the Dungeon Gate, she was greeted with the Confused Look of the Hunter Association Agent that had cleared her entry into the dungeon.

“Huh? W—Why’s the gate disappearing? Where are the C-Ranks that went in with you?!” He asked, Unsure of how to approach the situation he was in.

It was obvious to Yuki that this agent was somehow involved with the brothers that had just tried to rob and rape her but she wasn’t interested in bringing him to Justice….yet.

Baam!

She walked up to him and slammed an Item on the Table, it was a black Scale. The Agent quickly put on a poker face and resumed his normal duties.

“Uhm, Ma’am” he said, sweating profusely

“What is that? And where are the C-Ranks???”

Yuki stared at him as if she was trying to blast eye lasers through his skull but decided it was against her best interest to release her aggression on him now.

“They’re Dead, they tried to assault me and got killed….by the Monsters”

The Agent tensed up upon hearing this, clenching his fists and butt in desperation and fear that the ’deal’ he had with the C-Ranks might have been exposed to her. “Uhm, b-be that as it may, How did you…An F-Rank…Defeat the dungeon boss and Close the Dungeon?”

Yuki folder her arm in a confident pose and pulled up her status screen to be visible to him, but just the Top part that showed her rank though.

The agent’s eyes widened in disbelief, he eyes darted between Yuki and her status like a million times before he regained his ability to speak again. “Ho—, How?! This is impossible! Hold on, please. I have to report this!”

But just as he was reaching for his communication device, she slammed the table again with her hand and pointed at the black Scale item she had slammed on the table earlier.

The Agent got Startled back into his senses, stared at the item and Resumed back a professional Posture befitting his position.

“Of course, Ma’am. I apologize for my discourteousness. Give me a moment, let me appraisal your item” he said.

He raised one arm over the scale and activated what seems to be an identify or appraisal skill, definitely something not as overpowered as Owen’s Dragon’s eye.

Ding—!

[Crazed Komodo Earth-Dragon scale (D-Grade)]

“Oh My God, you really did defeat the boss…” He trembled as he reached out for the item.

“Hmph!” Yuki puffed with pride. Disappointed at the minimal info his appraisal was able to get because when she had Owen Appraised it with his dragon eyes on their way out of the dungeon, it showed a much thorough description.

[Crazed Komodo Earth-Dragon Scale (D-Grade)]: A hardened grey scale shed from a Crazed Komodo Dragon. Despite its low grade, it retains minor resistance to slashing attacks and minor Heat resistance. Useful for basic Armor crafting, low-tier enchantments, or alchemical mixtures.

“So? How much credit is that?” Yuki asked with a hint of greed in her eyes.

“From just the raw evaluation, this would round up to 15,500 credits” The Agent replied, regaining back his composure as he pulled out his cell device on sent the full credit to Yuki.

“Yessss!” Yuki yelled as she couldn’t suppress her excitement in seeing the notification on her cell.

’Yuki, I thought we agreed you’d maintain some aura farming!’ Owen reprimanded her.

He was out of sight and within the severed dimension of Yuki’s beast space, but he could still communicate with her telepathically.

“Oh, Ehem! Thank you” Yuki said, regaining a more composed aura.

She then proceeded to leave but the agent called out to her.

“Ma’am! You’ll be getting a summons from the association soon, about your rank up”

“Whatever!” Yuki yelled as she hailed a cab to take her home.

Back in Yuki’s small apartment, Owen had been summoned out of the beast space. He took in the familiar sight and sighed in disappointment that Yuki still lived in this small apartment after two years of his death.

He knew this apartment held memories of abuse from her ex husband, Vonn. Memories that Yuki would rather forget and be better without but would not be able to escape it as long as she is in this apartment.

“That’s it!” Owen roared, his voice trembling the small apartment despite his size.

“Owen! What’s it?” Yuki asked startled, fearing that they were probably in danger.

The baby dragon flew into her Embrace, burying his sleek warm black scaly face right between her breasts. “I have decided” he declared.

“The first order of business, I am going to make you so rich that you would able to move out of this shit hole and afford a mansion befitting of your ’gigantic’ presence.”

He fumbled her breasts some more with his retracted claws, entirely too pleased with himself.

Heat flooded Yuki’s face, her cheeked reddened. She grabbed Owen by the scruff of his neck and lifted him away, holding him at an arm’s length while he dangled, tail whipping and utterly unrepentant.

She sighed, setting him down on the table. She smiled as memories resurfaced, of his clumsy self of when he was human. “Some things would never change” she thought to herself as she smiled.

Yuki’s gaze drifted from the stained ceiling to the peeling wallpaper of the walls, then the old furniture’s around the apartment then down to her own trembling hands. she clenched them into a fist and steeled her resolve.

“Let’s do it then” she said in a steady and determined tone. “let’s get rich”

Owen’s wings flapped against the table in agreement, his golden eyes blazing as they fixed onto Yuki with a smile that exposed his little baby dragon fangs.

Before either of them could speak again, Yuki’s phone buzzed on the counter. The screen lit up with a single message from the Hunter association:

–Report for questioning tomorrow. Do not be late.
