Chapter 224: Lady Valentine, the Evil Titan

“Oh? If it isn’t the weak titan I beat those days!” Roselyn shot back without missing a beat, her golden braid thrashing as she drove a fist through the third Born’s guard.

The twins’ smiles held, frozen and too cheerful, except thick veins were nearly popping on their foreheads, pulsing visibly beneath the pale skin.

“You insolent creature…” they hissed together, voices cracking with barely contained rage. “Titania had struck me with one dangerous attack! I keep telling you!”

“Yes, yes, don’t start crying now,” Roselyn casually remarked, spinning mid-air to deliver a golden shockwave that disintegrated three lesser Children creeping close in a single pulse.

“I am not crying?!” the boys said, wiping off the tears with their elbows in quick, embarrassed swipes.

The gesture was almost childish; their small fists rubbing at crimson-rimmed eyes that still glowed with Lady Valentine’s lingering presence.

“Ah, Valentine,” Roselyn leaped a few steps back to create distance, her blonde hair flailing through the air as she evaded a reflexive swipe from the regenerating Third Born.

She came in again immediately, fist cocked for another strike. “Now that you’re here, do me a favor and blast this guy’s neck and chest for me. Make it quick; I’m getting tired of punching the same regenerating lump over and over.”

The boys smiled mischievously, their lips curling into matching, wicked grins that looked far too sinister on their cute, flower-adorned faces.

“Very well,” they said in that deep, overlapping feminine voice. “If you want a blast, I shall provide one!”

A dark ball of concentrated void energy formed between their raised staffs;

With deft speed and strength, Roselyn grabbed the Third Born by its thick, rippling arms, spun the massive ten-foot titan like it weighed nothing, and positioned its body directly in the path of the incoming attack.

The dark ball slammed into the Third Born’s neck and chest with a deafening crack, it’s grey flesh exploding inward, as its chest cavity caved, it’s neck twisting at an unnatural angle as the void energy tore through it like paper.

“Wha—?!” The boys’ mouths fell open in perfect unison, jaws dropping in genuine shock before snapping shut into simultaneous growls of outrage.

“I knew you’d do that,” Roselyn stated calmly, removing her gaze from the regenerating titan—whose body was already bubbling and knitting back together—and locking eyes with the twins several meters away. “Go to sleep now. It’s been three minutes already.”

The boys’ eyes widened dramatically. “Eh?! But… But I have not spoken to you for too long! I mean, I have not even spent that long awake!”

“When I need a training partner, I’ll call you, okay?” Roselyn smiled—genuine this time, warm and almost fond. “Take the boys to safety and rest for now. I’m busy.”

Then the boys blushed a little, if you ask me, seeming a bit enthralled by Roselyn despite everything.

Their cheeks flushed pink beneath the crimson glow, eyes softening for a heartbeat before hardening again.

Then they huffed dramatically. “Hmph. You are always busy and never giving me much attention. But who needs the attention of a dishonorable warrior? Fine, I shall go away… and sleep lonely in the boys’ soul… wondering when I will have true freedom.”

“Guilt-tripping me won’t do much good,” Roselyn muttered under her breath, already turning back to the fight.

“Sh-Shut up!” The boys yelled simultaneously, fists clenched at their sides so tightly their small knuckles whitened.

Then they spun on their heels, wings buzzing furiously, and flew back toward Isabelle and me on the high vine with frustrated speed.

“You did well, Lady Valentine!” Isabelle praised as they landed, her voice bright and encouraging.

“Oh, be silent,” the boys folded their arms tightly across their frilly chests and rolled their eyes in perfect sync. “And find a way to toughen these boys up. Their bodies are far too convenient, so I wish to stay longer here without hurting them.”

“Ah, how nice of you.”

“I am not nice! I am the evil titan, Valentine!” The boys shouted in unison before their crimson gaze suddenly snapped to me. “By the way, who is that woman?”

“I’m a guy, though,” I waved awkwardly, trying to sound casual.

The boys took one good, long look at me, their heads tilting in eerie unison as the crimson glow intensified.

And their expressions shifted from annoyance to cold calculation.

“Hmmmm… But he seems to be the cause of this unusual gathering—”

“Hm? What did you mean by tha—” Isabelle tried to ask, but I interfered quickly.

“Isabelle, quick!” I yelled desperately, panic spiking through my voice. “Put her to sleep already!”

“Eh? Wh-Why?” The boys asked, genuinely shocked, voices cracking back toward their normal cute register.

“Understood.” But Isabelle didn’t hesitate.

She called out their names firmly—”Zerubabel! Armageddon!”—and the dark aura dissipated in an instant.

The oppressive weight lifted from the air like a storm cloud breaking apart.

The crimson glow faded from their eyes, leaving only clear green once more.

The jagged fangs receded into neat rows; the menacing posture softened back into sheepish, fidgety cuteness.

When they got themselves back, they looked at me and frowned; their small brows furrowing in identical confusion.

“What…?” I asked, still catching my breath.

“Valentine says she’ll castrate you when she’s out again,” the left beauty mark said flatly.

“Yeah, she says she will ’fucking rape you, you titan pig,’ whatever that means,” the right beauty mark added, innocently confused by the alien foul words. “Anyway, she’s still yelling loudly inside us.”

Isabelle giggled softly, covering her mouth with one hand, then leaned down a little and kissed each of them gently on the forehead (they were a bit shorter than her).

“You both did wonderfully. Now go back to the forest and take a nice nap. Big Sis Bell is proud.”

They blushed furiously at the praise and the kisses, mumbling shy “O-Okay…” before fluttering off toward the safety of the trees, their staffs still clutched tightly.

Was Valentine not truly killed by Roselyn all those centuries ago?

She kind of sounded like Roselyn was her favorite idol; somewhat obsessed and resentful, but clearly craving attention and validation from the very warrior who “slew” her.
