Aoi had always been the playful one among us, treating Ban-sama like an older brother or playmate.

She’d giggle and demand piggyback rides, climbing onto his back during peaceful walks in the rural districts.

However, he never judged her for staying childish, or ever told her to “grow up.” He just accepted it as her nature.

He let her nap in his lap while the rest of us talked, and ruffled her ears gently when she pouted. With him, she felt safe being infantile, behaving all immature and unburdened.
