Chapter 164: It does smell nice

I got down from Fenric but didn’t look at his face. I saw how his body still trembled, and how from underneath, his dick was wrestling inside his skirt, but I pretended not to see.

In fact, I didn’t talk to him afterwards.

Just doing this wasn’t enough of a punishment. If anything, I felt like he enjoyed the attention in his own twisted way. And a punishment shouldn’t be likable, so I needed to be a little meaner.

Thinking about it, my lips curled as I devised the perfect ploy.

“Dani, we’ll be taking three fowls,” I said, and he nodded, still looking a bit dazed by the domestic drama he was witnessing.

As soon as I said that, Damar went to pick up the three fowls. The birds began to scurry, clucking in horror, their feathers fluttering everywhere in a frantic cloud. They sensed the vicious energy and saw the enemy they could not face, so they tried to flee.

Unfortunately for them, they were in a fence, and Damar was not so nice as to play with his food. He let out a sharp hiss, and the fowls in his hands practically choked back their own cries in pure terror.

It was quite hilarious to watch.

“Arinya,” Fenric called, his voice low and strained. I turned to look at him. He had finally gotten up and was doing his best to keep his reaction in check, though the heavy pulse at his neck gave him away.

I looked down at his waist, and the mere thought of me looking at him made him flinch as if I’d touched him again. But then, I coldly turned my head away, pretending not to have seen a thing, and called out to Damar instead.

“Damar, come on. Let’s set the fire and get the meal going.”

Damar nodded, his eyes flicking to Fenric with a look of silent, smug superiority before he followed me to a nearby free space where we got the fire going and set up rocks in no time.

As the scent of roasting meat began to waft through the air, I made sure to sit right next to Damar. I leaned against his shoulder, laughing softly at a small comment he made about the way the fowls looked better roasted than alive.

After roasting for a bit, Dani asked,

“Why are you burning the meat?”

I looked at him and felt that they probably don’t know about cooking yet.

“Well, most predators eat it raw,” I said and he nodded, knowing that fact. “But it tastes so much better when heated on fire and has a little something sprinkled on top.” I was referring to the salt. “Can’t you smell that sweetness? Doesn’t it just make you feel like eating it even though you don’t eat meat?” I asked and he nodded, gulping down the saliva he didn’t know had been building up in his mouth.

“It… It does smell nice.” He looked at it, tempted, but then he remembered that the fowls used for this meal were once his friends so the thought flew out of his mind right away.

He gagged, nearly throwing up, and immediately apologized for the discourtesy.

“I… I’m sorry, Ms Arinya, I just… I can’t.” He said and I waved it off.

“It’s fine. I don’t expect a herbivore to eat what carnivores eat anyway.” I said, and his ears fell back to his spine in sadness. “Hm, but I can’t have you watching while we eat either. It’s torture in its own right so why don’t I get you something? Do you eat fruits?” He nodded, and my eyes sighted, and little berry vines wrapped around the branch of a tree up ahead.

I turned to Damar.

“I’ll leave this to you guys while I get something for our little fiends, Dani,” I said, but this warranted a threatening gaze from both of them, and Dani felt it, alright.

I didn’t make the mistake of leaving him there to die from their glares so I hoisted him above me, making him sit on my neck with his hands holding my head.

“There we go. Let’s go for a little run, shall we?”

And with that, I skipped out of there, heading for the tree.

“Hold on tight,” I said, hoping he wouldn’t get scared, let go, and then fall.

From this height, he won’t die, but he’ll break a bone, and I’d like to avoid that.

I climbed the tree effortlessly with the light bunny on my neck and then grabbed the vine.

“Take a look at this. Are they edible?” I asked and his eyes sparkled at the berries.

“These are so precious.” He said. “And they’re delicious too.”

“Then I guess they’re edible.” I yanked the vine and then hurried down with him still clinging on and only stopped once we were back to where the meat was getting grilled.

“That… That was so fun.” Dani exclaimed in excitement, with leaves sticking out of his head.

I chuckled.

“Yeah. You don’t get a neck ride from a female tiger, after all.” I said and then sat down.

My heart was thumping, the excitement still lingering and then I rested my head on Damar’s shoulder.

“Did you have fun?” He asked and my eyes stayed on Dani as he happily ate the berries.

I closed my eyes and smiled.

“Yeah. It was so much fun.” I said and then opened my eyes to see the meat he had already set aside.

They must be cold by now.

I wonder how Fenric is doing.

I turned to look at him.

He sat a few feet away, the picture of misery. He was starving, both for food and for a single glance from me, but I acted as if he were just part of the scenery.

The way his hands were down to his crotch, and how he bit his lip, while looking like he was in pain told me he was having a hard time calming his erection.

I looked away before our eyes could meet. I just need to stick to the plan.

I picked up a piece of meat with the twigs, blew on it, and then offered it to Damar.

He opened his mouth and chewed.

“Is it good, Damar?” I asked loudly, wiping the corner of his mouth with my thumb.

“Yes,” Damar replied, his voice smooth and carrying a pleasing feeling.

I guessed he could sense what I was doing, and he was more than happy to play along.

Fenric let out a soft, pained whimper, his head hanging low. He was still struggling with his physical state, and the mental torture of being ignored while his rival was pampered was clearly breaking him.

I glanced over at him when I thought he wasn’t looking. Seeing him so dejected—this big, powerful warrior reduced to a sulking puppy—made my heart soften just a tiny bit. I couldn’t stay truly mean forever.

I started making excuses on his behalf.

It’s not like he asked her to come and talk to him, and he wasn’t really laughing at her jokes that seriously. He even went as far as telling the female that he had a wife, and a jealous one at that.

His only crime is being too hospitable and a really nice guy.

I pouted, thinking I’d done enough and it was truly time to forgive him.
