Deniz bites his lower lip, trying to hold back a laugh. I pout dramatically. “Are you laughing at me?”

Finally, he releases it—a soft, uncontrollable laugh that fills the space around us. For a moment, the funfair seems to fade away. It’s just him… and his laugh.

He raises an eyebrow.

“Your face says otherwise.”

I force a smile, straightening my back.

“Be brave. Let’s go.”

We walk toward the ride. He glances at me again.

“Are you sure you can handle it?”

I stop and look at him.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean…” He hesitates. “Aren’t you scared?”

I burst out laughing—loud, dramatic.

“Why would I be scared? I already told you, I’m not an omega. I’m an alpha. Alphas don’t get scared.”

He nods, clearly unconvinced.

The staff opens the gate. I sit down, heart racing. The safety bar clicks into place with a heavy lock. Deniz looks at me.

I inhale deeply. My hands feel cold—too cold.

I smile at him anyway.

He nods, confused.

The coaster starts moving.

My body begins to tremble. I reach out and grab Deniz’s hand tightly.

“Hold me,” I say confidently. “If you’re scared.”

“Evening air,” I lie quickly. “It’s cold.”

My heart pounds so loud I swear he can hear it.

I squeeze his hand with everything I have, eyes squeezed shut, soul leaving my body.

My voice loud and shocked.

“When is it going to stoooooo—!”

“Noooooo—”

“Stooooooooooop —this!”

The ride finally stops.

My face is burning, heart pounding so hard it feels like it might leap out of my chest. My body won’t stop trembling. Deniz steps out calmly, like nothing happened. I try to stand—my legs weak, shaking beneath me, hair completely messed up.

I try to stand up again —and almost collapse.

Deniz’s hand closes around mine immediately, steady and warm, helping me down from the roller coaster.

“Are you okay?” he asks, worry written all over his face.

I don’t answer. The words are stuck in my throat—or maybe after screaming that loudly, my throat simply refuses to work.

He guides me to a nearby bench and sits me down gently. Within seconds he’s back, handing me a bottle of water, already opened.

I take it and drink without stopping, barely breathing.

Deniz sits beside me.

“I’m sorry,” he says quietly. “I shouldn’t have bought the tickets.”

I finally manage to speak, voice rough.

“It’s okay… I’m fine.”

Embarrassment burns hotter than fear now. My hair is a mess, probably sticking everywhere.

Deniz lifts his hand hesitantly and smooths my hair, fingers gentle. I look at him, eyes a little wet without realizing. His thumb brushes away the moisture at the corner of my eye.

“If you want to go back,” he says, “we can.”

“No,” I say immediately, stubborn as ever.

He nods. “Okay.”

Then voices cut through the air.

Two girls nearby are whispering, glancing in my direction.

“That omega screamed so loudly on the ride.”

“Yeah, so noisy.”

My cheeks burn. Anger flashes through me.

“I’m not an omega!” I snap.

They flinch and walk away quickly.

Deniz squeezes my hand.

“Calm down.”

My cheeks burn with anger as I look at him.

“Why does everyone keep saying I’m an omega?”

Deniz doesn’t answer right away. He just looks at me—silent, searching. Then, slowly, his hand lifts again, fingers brushing through my hair. His touch is hesitant this time, almost unsure.

When he speaks, his voice is low, different from before.

“Because you’re beautiful,” he says quietly. “Your silver hair shines like moonlight. Your eyes… they glow. Not every alpha has this kind of beauty.”

I freeze.

His words sink deep into my chest, heavier than I expect.

Before I can ask more—before I can say anything at all—he stands up suddenly, clearly trying to escape the moment.

“Let’s… eat something,” he says, changing the subject too fast.

I stand and follow him quietly, my mind stuck on one word.
