Chapter 47: The Void Opens[2]

Rhogar’s consciousness lingered and he felt all the strength in his body leave him, he opens his eyes and sees his surroundings changed.

He sees Xior standing over him and him laying on blood red snow with corpses all around him.

He closes his eyes and a surge of pain fills his whole body, he was reminded of what happened ten years ago. His wife and daughter taken he met defeat the first time.

And now ten years later, he was defeated a second time. He wanted to scream and breakdown but he couldn’t.

He had built up a fake persona of a ruthless man and now he had to stay true to it for the sake of his children.

But he would not let the humans win, if he did then his wife and daughter would die. So he looks at Xior and stares into his black eyes which would scare most easily.

“You think you have won? You’re mistaken humans.” He says and chuckles as if he was truly evil. “This was just a glimpse. The true horror is yet to come.”

His arms glow and a purple light emits from them. A huge amount of mana is sucked in from the surroundings as it flows into the sky forming a thick black cloud.

Then a portal forms in the sky, it’s size is massive as a thick oppressive aura shoots out from it. Then a large tentacle comes out of it.

Followed by more tentacles, the popping sounds are heard as the normal people who look at the tentacles have their heads explode as they drop dead.

“DON’T LOOK AT THE TENTACLES.” Rain shouts as everyone closes their eyes except for Becca, Rain, Kayla, Xior and the Chiefs. They look at the monstrosity being summoned through the portal.

The unfortunate tribesmen who looked at it now lay dead with their heads exploded. Xior looked down at the Dragon Chief who was laughing. He kicked him hard knocking him out.

The Chiefs along with Becca and Rain looked at the tentacles at awe, now it was out enough that the main body was visible. It was similar to the corpse he absorbed under the mountain of the wolves.

The first tentacle touched the ground and slid across the surface uprooting everything and killing everything in its path.

Xior ran towards it and jumped in the air, sword in hand he swung it horizontally. An arc of fire cut through the tentacle but it only left a deep gnash on it instead of cutting it off.

Despair clouded his mind as he thought about things he could do to stop this thing because if he didn’t everyone would be killed and there was a chance of a gate opening outside the tower due to the intense mana right now.

He gritted his teeth, he knew he was not strong yet he didn’t back down. He swung his sword again and again.

“DAMNIT.” He roared as he finally managed to cut off one tentacle. The huge tentacle fell on the ground and split into smaller versions of the Nameless, just like Beatrice and her sibling were.

In the spur of the moment he forgot that, he had made a grave mistake. He crashed down on the ground. His head was spinning as he couldn’t decide on what to do.

The Chiefs and Becca had started fighting the offspring’s but he knew well how strong even those were.

In front of him a Nameless was descending in its true form and behind him his friends and allies were fighting its offspring’s.

He ran towards the half descended Nameless once again, this time he didn’t go for cutting the tentacles off but he left deep cuts one all of them. He was out of breath and almost out of mana.

But that didn’t stop him, system warnings and messages flooded his eyes but he didn’t stop to catch his breath.

He was scared, despite being strong he knew the extent of his power but that didn’t mean he would leave Becca to die a gruesome death here. He couldn’t care less about the others.

Right now only Becca was the one keeping him going and maybe, slightly Alice. He had found comfort in her since she too was a victim like him.

From beyond the portal the mouth of the Nameless could be seen, it was full of huge jagged teeth. It licked its teeth and formed a grin.

Then a deafening voice came from its mouth, [Y̸̯̐o̷̩͆u̸̡͝ ̶͍͠c̸̛̯a̵͎̅n̸̺̽n̴͍͂ȯ̶̡t̶̼̀ ̴̰̑s̵͇̓ẗ̴̘́o̵̞͂p̷̳͑ ̷̱̋m̴̩̈́ȇ̸̘.]

It was jumbled as if he had just learned the language but it was enough to bring Becca and the others to their knees. Xior’s ears bled as well as his nose but he stood straight.

His body shook violently under the pressure of its true voice. But with a single push he jumped straight to its mouth and swung his sword dozens of times and cut its body all over. Mid air a tentacle it moved one of its tentacles and hit Xior, he groaned as blood came out of his mouth.

It opened its mouth and Xior fell inside it, it chuckled.

Xior had lost conscious but his hands didn’t stop, inside the Nameless he kept on swinging his sword, his movements were slow but never ending.

A mist surrounded him and they slowed down eventually making them stop. He floated inside an endless abyss, it was dark…too dark.

Memories of his childhood came crashing into his mind, memories of his parents, his friends and of the world before the fall.

Xior found himself as a kid once again still inside his bed back at his home, he looked around in disbelief and ran out out of his room. In the living room he found two people, a man with short brown hair and eyes just like Xior’s and a woman with black long hair and blue eyes.

His parents were right in front of him somehow, he fell to his knees as tears flowed out of his eyes without stopping.

He sobbed as this felt like a dream which came true, then his parents turned to look towards them.

His tears stopped, his expression twisted and fear covered his face. His parents were faceless. He tried hard to remember what they looked like but he couldn’t remember them.

He backed away in fear as the faceless parents said something inaudible. The scene in front of him vanished as a tall woman with two heads and tentacles covering her body materialized in front of her.

His own body reverted back to his normal body, a chair materialized under her and she sat on it.

She said as she licked her lips.
