Chapter 49: Archangel’s Descent

Xior’s body felt light and warm due to the bright light wrapped around him like a parent protecting their child.

As he fell through the sky a set of six white wings grew out of his back and flapped to make him land safely on the ground.

Inside his mind he saw a average heighted woman, dressed in a white gown and blonde hair embrace his body.

She brought her face near his ear and whispered, “Nice to meet you Xior, I’m Uriel–an archangel from Eden also known as the Judge of Demons.”

Xior’s conscious was barely intact for him to understand her completely but he still stood straight.

Xior looked up towards the Nameless who was now moving its tentacles erratically. A fire sword conjured out of his hand, the heat so intense that it melted all the snow in the surroundings instantly.

This was hellfire, Uriel’s specialty. She is the Archangel who has killed the most amount of demons with her hellfire.

Inside his mind she said, “Do we start now?”

Xior nodded and then flapped his wings to fly towards the Nameless, it saw that Xior now had angel wings and swung its tentacles towards him but now since Uriel had half descended in his body he was powerful enough to put up an equal fight.

He swung the fire sword and it elongated cutting off a tentacle cleanly off of the Nameless. It screeched in pain as the fire from the sword clung to its body and started to burn.

He didn’t stop, he swung it again and this time aimed towards the main body, a deep cut was left through its lower body.

Becca looked at the scene unfold in awe, the Chiefs stood behind her and carefully watched the ensuing battle.

Somehow Xior was now fighting on par with the Nameless, she saw him get devoured by the Nameless not long ago and now he was fighting it on equal footings.

Xior flew towards the entrance of its mouth and shot a fireball the size of a car inside its mouth. Powered by hellfire, his own flames now burned hotter than ever.

They were capable of burning almost anything.

The Nameless had almost fully descended, as the final tentacle and the top of its main body came out of the portal its body shrunk slightly to aid in combat against Xior.

It took the form of the woman he saw inside the grey fog but many times bigger with tentacles slithering in the air.

She attacked him and tore off two of his wings, blood splashed on his remaining wings as Xior lost his balance.

The Nameless didn’t wait and dived towards him and tackled him, as she grabbed Xior’s body they both came down smashing into the ground like a meteor.

The Nameless didn’t stop at that, she smacked Xior continuously as he bled more and more, his face becoming unrecognizable with each strike.

He kneed the Nameless and pushed it off of him and conjured the fire sword once again and swung.

Their clash shook everyone, Xior cut off multiple tentacles at once while the Nameless woman dodged all of his sword swings.

Xior had only one wing on his back, the rest had been ripped off by the Nameless. Despite the apparent power boost Xior was in a bad position to manage all this extra weight on him.

The Nameless hit him and threw him into the ground.

She looked down the battered Xior, then she saw two black horns come out of Xior’s forehead and small dragon wings alongside the angel wings. System messages flooded his vision.

Xior looked at his status window quickly and noticed his stats had a massive boost due to Uriel’s presence. He looked at the Nameless woman and rushed her, he didn’t speak anything nor tried to bargain any kind of deal.

Once he decided to kill someone, he would do it without regret. They clashed once again but Xior’s swings felt heavier to the Nameless, she got pushed back and cut as Xior continued to swing his sword.

The tentacles of the Nameless woman started to get cut off more quickly than she could regenerate. She screamed in pain as the hellfire burned even her soul.

And on the other side Xior kept cutting her down, he was trying as hard as he was before. Uriel’s descent helped him stay alive and to have a fighting chance against a Nameless.

Xior’s attacks started to land more and more, her body broke down and she fell on her ass. Xior’s bloodied face with his black irises, two horns and the pair of dragon and angel wings sent shivers down her body.

It was as if he was not a normal human inheritor but the great Monarch himself. Xior opened his mouth as smoke came out of then he spew concentrated hellfire from his mouth burning the Nameless woman.

Her screams were heard by everyone, enemy and ally alike. Xior stabbed her with his own sword through the heart.

The metal sword glowed up red due to the hellfire from his mouth and started burning her heart.

This was the end of a Nameless, after he stopped only ashes remained where the undefeatable Nameless was.
