Chapter 181: A New Form

“Slay them all!” a red demon woman clad in full steel armor with a furred cape ordered, standing tall and proud with her giant axe. “Don’t let them pass!”

“YES, GENERAL!”

“It’s her,” the demon general shouted, a smile forming on her face—a smile filled with love and joy, as warmth spread from her chest and all over her body.

“Mother!” the white-scaled naga standing next to her hissed, her face filled with pride and happiness as her red eyes spotted a figure inside the crimson flames. Yet the figure was different from what she remembered.

“Hiss… Mother looks different.”

Majestic bat wings that seemed to be made from a starry sky, silver hair, and crimson eyes. With a wave of her hand, the giant pillar of flames that covered the entire city faded into a mist, leaving a trail of awe, admiration, love, fear, and terror on all the demons’ faces as they fully gazed at the image of a three-meter-tall creature—a demon woman.

With every step Morgana took, the earth trembled and the air burned. A massive tail was flashing behind her, resembling a giant dragon’s tail. With red and pale skin, four demon horns—two curved like a ram’s and the others pointing upward, glowing crimson like a beating heart—she stood as a vision of power.

Morgana stood tall and proud, scanning the entire city. Her crimson eyes focused on her children for the first time. The very moment her eyes met theirs, a shockwave passed through them, filling their chests with overwhelming love. 

Then her eyes shifted to the rest of the demons, casting a cold gaze. In that single moment, all the demons—attackers and defenders—knelt and bowed their heads, not out of respect and love like Morgana’s daughters and their children, but from fear, a true terror born within the soul itself.

With one flap of her wings, Morgana took to the skies, hovering in the air, casting a shadow over the burning city and the demons. Then she extended her hands like a mother wishing to hold her newborn for the first time.

“From blood, we rise, and from blood, we live. Come, my son, your mother is calling.”

As the words left her lips, a red portal appeared above her head, where a giant crimson, reptile-like eye with a horizontal slit pupil appeared. The eye scanned the city for a moment before locking its gaze on Morgana. Then the eye blinked and began to cry. Tears of blood streamed down from the portal, falling to the ground. In less than a minute, the entire city was covered in blood, reaching to the ankles.

“S-Shit,“ a demon man cursed, looking around at the ground and his body, quickly dyed in blood. Then a small figure began to take shape under his feet. The man’s eyes widened as he gazed at the small, infant-like demon with crimson skin and white hair, its entire body covered in blood.

“B-Brother?” the demon infant spoke, its small hand reaching to its brother. Yet the demon man stepped back, glaring at the small creature with obvious disgust and anger.

“G-Go away, you bastard” the man shouted, swinging his sword and killing the demon baby—his brother.

“You bastard!” another voice called, this time a demon woman with long, curly black hair and red horns. Her face twisted in rage as her hands rose from the blood and grabbed her brother’s ankle.

“You’ll pay for what you have done to me.”

“W-What? Stop!”

The woman began pulling the demon man down, sinking him deeper into the blood. Then her mouth opened, and the blood flowed from her maw, falling directly into the demon man’s mouth, making him choke and suffocate.

“You killed me, brother”

“You’ll die and suffer for a thousand years.”

“NOOOOOOO!!”

The screams and cries echoed through the entire city, and the same thing happened to everyone inside the crimson sea. Some were dragged down by their brothers and sisters, while others were slaughtered by their mothers. In some cases, long hands made of blood burst through their bodies, tearing them apart before dragging what remained deep into the sea. Only her offspring and a few slaves were spared.

The demon city was being cleansed, and Morgana watched the whole process with a smile on her face—a cruel smile. Her crimson eyes shone, enjoying the screams of pain and agony.

A little payback for ten years of hellish torture.

“Gulp…” Her daughters gulped, watching the cruel end of their enemies. They were scared, yes. After all, this level of cruelty was a little much, even for demons. But they knew it was needed. All the ones who were killed deserved to be punished for the things they had done to them.

“Hiss… Sister, you okay?” the white naga next to General Morgana whispered, her face filled with terror and a hint of amusement.

“…” The general said nothing, her eyes locked on her mother. Not the city. She couldn’t care less about the others. The only one that mattered to her was her mother—the one who gave her life, the one she loved and admired.

“Mother,” Morgana whispered, reaching her hand toward the red sky. The smile never left her face.

“My daughter,” a gentle voice rang in the ears of the generals, a voice filled with love and kindness. “You did well, my child. Please wait a little and I’ll join you.”

“Of course, mother,” the general nodded, bowing her head. The warmth spread from her heart as the voice faded. It was the feeling she always dreamed about—a feeling of love, a feeling of completeness, a feeling of happiness, and a feeling of freedom. Today she got to meet her mother for the first time.

CLAP!

With a strong clap of her hands, Morgana commanded the blood sea to rise, and the blood obeyed, flowing upward and forming a massive ball that floated in the air. Then another clap, and the ball began to shrink until it was the size of an egg. Morgana held it in her hand for a moment before opening her mouth wide and devouring the ball of blood.

“Ahh… delicious,” Morgana moaned. The flavor was indescribable—a flavor that could beget a smile even from a dead person, a flavor that could raise a dead army and a flavor that could only be understood by Morgana herself.
