Chen Chuan gave it some thought. He only needed one saber, and the Frost King Saber had been with him from the start. The growth of its mutated tissue had also synchronized with his growth, so there wasn’t a need for him to get another saber. “Does Director Wu know a throwing art as well?” Chen Chuan asked as he looked at Officer Qiu in surprise.

“Of course. Throwing arts are really useful. To us martial artists, they’re sometimes even more convenient than guns. Plenty of people practice them at some point, but mastering them is difficult. Still, learning the basics isn’t all that hard,” Officer Qiu answered with a grin.

Chen Chuan nodded at that and shut the box while saying, “Please thank Director Wu for me, Officer Qiu.”

“Of course,” Officer Qiu promised. “That’s all we need to do at the department for now. I heard that you want to go home, right? Take a good rest. While there’s something quite important we need to tell you, it’s not urgent, so we can discuss it with you when you return to Central City.”

He then stood up and extended a hand to Chen Chuan.

Chen Chuan nodded, stood up too, and shook his hand before asking, “May I ask what you’ve done to Wei Wusheng’s body?”

“Yu Hongming, his master from the Heavenly Pardon Gang, has paid us compensation and reclaimed his body,” Officer Qiu answered.

Chen Chuan came to an understanding and said, “Thank you, Officer Qiu.”

After packing up, Chen Chuan left the department and cast a glance at the bright sun outside. Then, he contacted Ni Qianqian and said, “Officer Ni, I’m going to go back to Yangzhi City soon. Before I leave, I’d like to treat you to a meal, but I’m not familiar with the restaurants here. Why don’t you pick a place?”

“Okay,” Chen Chuan answered. He did a quick search for the place on his Realm Pass and reserved a private dining room in the hotel’s restaurant. Then, he checked the scenery around the hotel and found that it was built on a mountain. Not only did it receive a lot of good reviews as a dining place, but it was also a famous scenic spot.

Chen Chuan had been in Central City for around half a year, but spent most of that time training and had never gone to the recreational spots. After taking a look at the time, he found that there was only around an hour left until lunch, so he didn’t go back and just drove to the hotel.

“In the old era?” Chen Chuan asked after some thought.

“Yes. That was its name during the old era, but the first word was removed later on. I heard that before Central City was established, this place was a restaurant frequented by the royal family. They ate right here. Honestly, the hotel’s old name suits you pretty well right now.” Ni Qianqian tapped on the floor with her foot.

“I’m not that famous yet,” Chen Chuan stated.

“You’re not that far from being worldwide famous.” Ni Qianqian stirred her hot drink with a spoon. “Did you know that while Central Cities are built quite far apart from each other, I heard that the world governments and companies have been pushing for a Skyline Project. It aims to connect all the Central Cities together. Then, if anything happened in one of the cities, the whole world would know.”

Chen Chuan mulled over it. “That would require a lot of resources.”

“True. They’ve been wanting to do this for years, but have yet to start. If it was really necessary, something would have been done about it overnight.” Ni Qianqian took a sip of her hot drink. “The domestic and international political situation has been changing constantly. Someday, that moment might arrive, so you have to be prepared.”

Chen Chuan nodded at that. He cast a glance at the road that seemed to have split Central City in half and stretched all the way into the horizon. “I will.”

After the meal with Ni Qianqian, Chen Chuan drove to Treasure Fruits Market, the place he had gone to before to buy some souvenirs for his family and mentor. There, he bought some gifts to bring back home. When he returned to the Arcane Palace, he began packing up.

This time, he intended to stay at home for a month, so he had to bring all the medicine he needed for his training. He was also going to bring Dawncall.

Once he was almost done packing up, he contacted Gao Ming and asked, “Gao Ming, I’m heading back now. Do you need me to bring anything back to your family?”

“Don’t need to. You know that my parents are seldom home. Send hello to Uncle Fuli and Aunty Wan, though,” Gao Ming said.

“Sure,” Chen Chuan promised. They exchanged a few more words before ending the call, and Chen Chuan was ready to leave.

This time, he wore the uniform prepared by the Resolution Department. It was of a much better quality than the previous one in terms of the materials used and the style. When he put it on and wore the wide-brim hat, he looked heroic.

This uniform also came with a protective trench coat. Not only could it fend against the snow and wind, but it also had certain defensive properties. But the trench coat was for the winter, and Chen Chuan didn’t need it in this weather.

Once he was dressed, he checked whether he had missed packing anything before dragging his luggage and Dawncall’s nest downstairs.

After leaving his room, Chen Chuan took the elevator to the parking lot. Upon locating his car, he set about putting all his things into the trunk before placing Dawncall’s little nest on the back seat.

He had wanted to fix it in place, but Dawncall appeared to be really excited, since this was its first time out of the room. It looked out and chirped at Chen Chuan. He gave it only a brief thought before stretching his hand out to Dawncall and letting it climb up his arm until it reached his shoulder. Then, Chen Chuan returned to the driver seat and fastened the seatbelt before driving out of the campus.

The moment he left the Arcane Palace, he sensed something and took a look at the rearview mirror, only to find Hongfu standing on the upturned eaves. He stretched his hand out the window and gave her a wave.

Hongfu noticed it and turned around to watch as Chen Chuan drove away.
