Book 3, Chapter 234: Ambush

As the martial artists charged forward, the motorcade several kilometers ahead suddenly sped up on its way back.

The first motorcade that had passed by Chen Chuan and Lei Guangcheng’s motorcade had turned back and was now charging back.

If anyone looked from the sky, they would see the two motorcades forming a complete encirclement.

Once Mr. Yao noticed that something was off with the motorcade ahead, he knew that things were about to go bad, and he immediately had all the members bring out their guns. At the same time, he had the cars at the back of the motorcade get closer to the ones at the front so that they could set up a defensive formation to block any potential charges. The two snipers didn’t give up. They moved to another spot, but the moment they arrived at the border of the motorcade, they were attacked by their ambushers’ snipers and were unable to leave. Their only option was to get into a shootout with the enemy snipers.

This delay led to two more mortar shells landing among the motorcade. Fortunately, due to the smoke, they didn’t hit anything.

Even so, they couldn’t let this continue.

Mr. Yao scowled. The enemy had numbers on their side. If they wanted to destroy the two mortars, Mr. Yao would have to do it himself. The problem was, he was sure that the enemy had at least one Third Limit martial artist among them, and more might be hiding in the shadows, waiting, while his main task was to protect Lei Guangcheng. The moment he stepped away, he would be giving the enemy the chance to kill Lei Guangcheng.

Chen Chuan also noticed this from his car and knew that it would be difficult for Mr. Yao to handle the situation alone, so he gave some instructions to Wu Han and Wei Dong before stepping out of the car. Then, he walked out of the smoke.

He ignored it and headed toward the mortars.

An enemy nearby tried to lift his shield to cover the hole in the defense, but after he took just a few steps forward, a gunshot rang in the air, and his head burst open.

When one of the two snipers saw that there were no longer any shields acting as a nuisance, he fired at the target again.

Upon seeing this, Chen Chuan decided to leave this side of the fight to the motorcade. Instead, he shifted to another side and threw a few more stones to knock back the shields protecting the other mortar. The second sniper then got rid of the remaining mortar operator.

Mr. Yao saw this and felt some of the weight on his shoulders lessen, but that didn’t mean that he let down his guard. He could tell that this group had been sent by a powerful organization. Not only had they brought mortars, but they also had dozens of implant-enhanced combatants and more than one hundred bioweapons. This fighting force was enough for them to fight a small-scale war.

If not for the fact that their escort team was larger and more well-equipped than the standard escort team and had Chen Chuan’s team, they might have been defeated in an instant.

Just then, he received a message.

The motorcade from United Might had come back, but they were blocked off at the back.

When the limousine arrived at the front lines, it came to a slow stop. The car door was opened, and the person in the front passenger seat turned around. “Mr. Jiancheng, we’ve arrived. We’ll be leaving the rest to you.”

“That’s fine,” Jiancheng Sheng said seriously and got out with his saber in hand.
