It was the first of September, which marked the start of the semester for the freshmen at the main campus.

Most of the students joined the main campus around this time of the year. While the main campus didn’t have any special restrictions on when the students could join, students who came to the campus a whole semester earlier were in the minority.

And no one would have suspected that in just one semester, Chen Chuan would have managed to walk the path other students would usually take three or more years to walk.

Still, this was just the beginning.

Chen Chuan remembered He Xiaoxing telling him that the limits of each stage referred to the peak a person could reach at a given stage of their martial arts development.

Theoretically speaking, only perfect people could achieve those peaks. While they seemed like a distant dream, Chen Chuan believed that he might be able to do it.

After fusing with his second self, he made up for many of his weaknesses, and his foundation became stronger in all aspects. If he could fuse with his second self another time, he might be able to achieve true perfection and even surpass the definition of perfect.

According to what He Xiaoxing told him, the First to Third Limits were one unit. If he had difficulty improving certain areas during the First and Second Limits, he could make up for those weaknesses and strengthen them during the Third Limit.

Hence, Chen Chuan’s next goal was to get stronger in every aspect in order to reach the theoretical peak.

This meant that he needed several times the training resources others needed, and he also needed to work much harder too.

While the path ahead was difficult, the thought of becoming stronger as he continued down this path made hope and motivation bloom in his heart.

He logged onto the university’s platform and checked his schedule.

After reaching the Third Limit, the students’ assessment points would automatically be maxed out. They no longer had to participate in any tests and could access all texts and books open to the students.

But Chen Chuan’s main concern was his subsequent training.

When he tried looking for suggestions, the platform told him that all knowledge regarding Third Limit training, the medicine required, and the services had to be applied for, approved by the university’s senior management, and finally agreed upon in the form of a signed contract. Until then, the university would not send specialists to give the student guidance.

When Chen Chuan saw this, he applied for all the necessary things through his Realm Pass. He received a notification telling him that his application had been submitted, and the university would give him an answer within five days.

But after going through all the courses available, he found that most of the paid courses on the platform were geared toward those below the Third Limit, and no one blatantly offered to teach how to use biofields.

If that were the case, he would have to ask for information from the lecturers themselves. They knew the situation within the university, so asking them was better than running around like a headless chicken.

Just then, he remembered Mr. Bai, the lecturer in charge of escorting the students to the arena. The man had told him back then that if Chen Chuan wanted, he could attend his lectures for free.

Chen Chuan had read up on Mr. Bai before and found that he taught theory, so he might be able to give Chen Chuan some suggestions in this area.

With his plan set, he looked for Mr. Bai’s profile picture and contacted him.

Around three seconds later, the call went through, and Mr. Bai asked in a joking tone, “You’re calling me on the first day of the new semester? Would you like to join my lecture?”

“I do have some questions for you, Mr. Bai,” Chen Chuan said.

“Well, I don’t have much to do right now. What would you like to ask? Go ahead,” Mr. Bai said with a chuckle.

While they were talking, Fan Cheng and Kong Yao were waiting outside Mr. Bai’s lecture hall.

In order to not be demoted to external students, they had to work hard to keep getting stronger.

Over the past two days, they had looked through the information of the lecturers on the platform, but the abundance of information had made them dizzy. They felt like they had to learn everything, because everything was important.

All of the lecturers’ statements said that if they didn’t take up their courses, they would have a hard time passing the tests and increasing their assessment points, which made them anxious.

They didn’t know how to tell which lecturer was suited for them, and if they picked the wrong one, wasting money would be the least of their concerns. They could cancel the course, but they could not get back the wasted time and would end up falling behind others.

An upperclassman had recommended Mr. Bai to them. While he only dabbled in martial arts theory, he was good friends with all the lecturers and could provide suggestions and plans based on each students’ strengths and specialities.

This was rare, since he was basically willing to point out a path for them. Hence, Fan Cheng and Kong Yao had hurried over.

However, they weren’t the only ones who had come to him for guidance this semester. Hence, they bought his course again to make sure they could see him and waited until they finally got their turn.

“Who’s Mr. Bai talking to? He’s spending so much time with them,” Fan Cheng grumbled, impatient.

“Mr. Bai was beaming when he went into the lecture hall just now. He must be talking to a lecturer. In any case, it’s our turn next. We just have to wait,” Kong Yao said, but she didn’t look too sure.

Fan Cheng sighed and tugged at his hair from time to time, which inevitably led to him plucking out a few strands. Fortunately, martial artists’ hair grew fast, and they had heads full of thick hair, so he didn’t have to worry about going bald for the time being.

Chen Chuan told Mr. Bai about his goal. “I’d like to learn techniques related to biofields. Could you give me some pointers?”

Mr. Bai smiled. “I can give you some suggestions, but when it comes to teaching you, I don’t think I’m qualified for that. I can recommend a lecturer for you, though. Jiang Tian. He’s very easy to talk to as well, so his lectures won’t be boring. I believe he’d be suitable for you.”

“Mr. Jiang?”

“Do you know him?”

“Mr. Jiang was the examiner for my technique exam,” Chen Chuan explained.

Mr. Bai remembered something and laughed. “I heard that he nearly lost because he got over his head while testing a student. So, you’re that student? I’m no longer surprised, then. But that’s great. I won’t have to introduce you two. I’ll call Mr. Jiang later and tell him about it.”

“Thank you, Mr. Bai,” Chen Chuan said.

“You’re welcome. Since you came to me as a lecturer, let me say a few more things, if you don’t find me too long-winded,” Mr. Bai offered.

“Please tell me, Mr. Bai,” Chen Chuan said.

“You know that I focus on martial arts theory and am not a fighter. But theory can help you determine what sort of enemy you’re facing, understand yourself, know what path you’re taking, and where you’re headed to in the future,” Mr. Bai said earnestly.

“Don’t look down on theory. Once you understand it, you won’t feel lost anymore. With unhindered thoughts, you can form a strong will, which will be beneficial for your training of the mind.

“Even during real fights, theory can help you analyze and find your enemies’ weaknesses.

“No Third Limit martial artists would be crippled in the mind. All of them have their own ways to understand and analyze themselves and their enemies.”

Chen Chuan mulled over this before answering seriously, “Thank you for your advice, Mr. Bai.”

Mr. Bai smiled. He could tell based on Chen Chuan’s tone that he had taken his words to heart, and that made him feel accomplished. “If you have any questions in the future, feel free to approach me. I look forward to speaking with you.”

With their conversation ended, Mr. Bai walked out of the lecture hall. Fan Cheng and Kong Yao immediately went up to him.

With a rather stern face, he said, “Thank you for waiting. I had something important to do just now.”

“It’s not a problem at all. I’m sure whatever you had to do was more important. We can wait a little, it’s fine,” Fan Cheng quickly said.

“Alright. Let’s begin, then. Come with me. Let me see how good your basics are.”

“Okay.” Fan Cheng and Kong Yao quickly followed after him.

After the conversation, Chen Chuan contacted Jiang Tian, and the call soon went through. Jiang Tian’s voice traveled into his ears. “Chen Chuan?”

“Hello, Mr. Jiang. It’s me, Chen Chuan,” he replied.

“Mr. Bai sent a message to me just now. I’m free in the mornings, so just come over to Training Hall Five on the eighty-second floor,” Jiang Tian said with a grin.

“I’ll come over right now,” Chen Chuan said.

After packing up some essentials, he grabbed the Frost King Saber and took the elevator to the eighty-second floor. Then, he walked along the corridor until he found Training Hall Five.

When he walked in, he found Jiang Tian dressed in loose-fitting martial arts clothes. His long hair looked as artistic as before. At present, he stood on warm-toned floorboards. Behind him were a long row of windows. When the sun shone in through the windows, the hall was all lit up.

Jiang Tian said, “Everyone has their own biofield. You can think of it as the amalgamation of all their vital information. A normal person’s biofield is weak and restrained within themselves, so it’s difficult for others to sense them. As for martial artists, due to their mutated tissue, their biofields are strong and flashy. They can even affect their surroundings somewhat.

“Releasing your biofield lets other people learn about you, though, so keeping it in is better. However, trying to keep your biofield within yourself when you encounter an enemy might not be the best strategy.

“Now, let me sense your biofield.”
