Chapter 146: Birth Of The New System
Zane’s Island,No-where—
Zane’s island in No-where remained calm and impossibly serene.
But deep inside the sprawling research and forge district, a single sound echoed again and again—
CLANG—
CLANG—
CLANG—
In one of the primary forges, Zane stood before a heavy obsidian-black anvil, the red glow of the Mystic Fire illuminating the entire room.
Three of the pearl fragments still floated inside the pinkish-red flame, suspended and slowly rotating as the fire kept them molten.
But Zane worked on the first one.
The molten fragment — glowing red, softened completely — floated down from the fire and rested itself onto the anvil’s surface as if obeying his silent command.
Zane’s expression was calm. Relaxed.
His posture steady.
His breathing unhurried.
He lifted the Tier-Zero forging hammer, its surface wrapped in a swirling sheath of Null Energy, grey light flowing around the head like a mist alive.
Then—
CLANG—
CLANG—
CLANG—
Each strike landed with perfect precision.
The Null-coated hammer sank into the glowing material just enough — never more, never less — shaping the molten pearl exactly how Zane intended.
Sparks of red and grey scattered with every hit, illuminating his white shirt beneath the black forging apron he wore.
Slowly, the material elongated.
Crystalized.
Sharpened into exact symmetrical angles.
Finally, Zane stopped.
He lifted his hand slightly, and the shaped object floated upward from the anvil — cooling instantly under his control.
What now hovered before him was a long hexagonal crystal, its internal glow a blend of crimson and silver.
Zane examined it.
Then he nodded lightly.
“One of the main bodies is ready,” he said.
He flicked his fingers, and the completed crystal drifted to the side, suspended within a containment formation.
Without wasting a breath, Zane turned toward the Mystic Fire again, where the remaining three pearl fragments continued to rotate lazily inside the flames.
He tightened his grip on the hammer.
“Next,” he murmured.
And he stepped forward as the glow of the fire reflected in his deep purple eyes.
The rhythmic hammering continued in the forge, each strike echoing through the chamber as Zane shaped the remaining three molten pearl fragments.
CLANG—
CLANG—
CLANG—
His movements were steady, exact.
The hammer wrapped in Null Energy struck with perfect precision, molding the glowing red fragments into identical shapes.
One after another, the soft molten pearls solidified into long hexagonal crystals, each one flawless and uniform.
Eventually, all four completed crystals floated neatly above the wide metal table — aligned, identical, shining faintly with a gentle internal glow.
Zane dusted his hands slightly.
“Okay,” he said quietly, “now is the time to make them fully.”
He set the hammer down.
A small circular crystal rose into the air, glowing faintly with pale blue-white light.
Zane looked at it.
“The Synthetic Memory Crystal, now.”
The small sphere drifted to the center, hovering perfectly between the four hexagonal crystals.
Then Zane waved his hand.
A strand of deep blue thread shimmered into existence — thin, star-speckled, flowing like a ribbon of the night sky.
Zane murmured,
“Now goes the Astrosilk.”
The celestial thread stretched, moving like a living strand of starlight.
It touched one crystal. Then another.
In seconds, the single thread connected all four crystals — linking them perfectly, weaving through the floating memory crystal at the center.
All five pieces pulsed softly, connected as if sharing a heartbeat.
Zane raised his hand again, conjuring orange runes glowing with arcane light.
He pushed the runes forward.
Fwoom—
The formations sank into the crystals, and instantly they began rotating — slow, steady, harmonious.
The Astrosilk glowed — then slowly faded away.
The memory crystal shimmered once — then vanished, absorbed fully.
Zane smiled.
“Next… Essence of Unity.”
Only two materials remained on the table.
The chartreuse-colored resin he prepared earlier…
And a small bottle filled with a radiant red liquid — not blood, but something far more refined.
The bottle floated upward.
A single drop of the red essence fell onto each crystal.
The droplets melted instantly into the hexagonal bodies — then solidified deep inside, forming a glowing red pearl core in the center of each one.
Zane nodded, satisfied.
“Good.”
He turned his attention to the final material.
“Now comes the last part.”
The chartreuse resin gel rose from its jar, swirling like glowing honey as it hovered above the four rotating crystals.
Then—
shhh—
It enveloped them completely, forming a bright chartreuse-colored sphere around the rotating hexagonal bodies.
Zane smiled faintly.
He clapped his hands.
The sphere instantly began to shrink — compressing tighter, tighter — until it was fully absorbed.
FLASH—!
A burst of white light filled the entire forge, bright enough to illuminate every corner of the chamber.
When the light faded…
Four long, white hexagonal crystals floated before Zane.
Each one shimmered with a faint greenish-yellow tint, and in each center sat an engraved red pearl, pulsing gently.
They revolved lazily around one another — perfectly synchronized.
Zane exhaled softly.
“Now… the final touch.”
He raised his hand.
Complex, interlocking orange runes appeared in the air — swirling, twisting, forming an intricate matrix.
He sent them forward.
The runes wrapped around the four crystals—
BZZZ—SHING—
The crystals flashed brightly, then snapped together, joining edge to edge like a perfect divine mechanism.
A soft hum filled the forge.
Zane smiled.
“…It’s complete.”
.
.
.
Four long hexagonal joined crystals floated in the air before Zane — each flawless, each identical, each with a newly condensed red pearl core beating faintly like a heart.
They rotated lazily in a perfect ring, almost as if they were testing their own balance.
Eira, who had been silently observing the entire forging process without blinking, finally dared to speak.
Her tiny holographic figure flickered near Zane’s wrist, voice soft:
“Boss… what is this system? What does it actually do?”
Zane didn’t answer immediately.
He watched the floating crystals for a long moment — as if evaluating them not with his eyes, but with something deeper.
The faint glow from the crystals painted delicate lines of light across his face, creating a mixture of calmness and quiet authority.
Finally, he nodded.
“This system,” he said slowly, “is built on the concept of teamwork… and bond.”
Eira drifted closer, curiosity glowing bright in her holographic eyes.
Zane pointed at the four crystals floating in a perfect ring.
“These crystals are node systems. Four parts of one system, connected to each other.
Given to four different users — and all four systems stay linked.”
He continued calmly,
“The benefits it gives are team-related. Combination-based skills.
And the unique feature is two unique meters in this system…
Eira blinked rapidly. “Two meters?”
Zane raised one finger.
“First — The Battle Bond Meter.”
“It rises or falls depending on cooperation in battle.”
“It’s temporary and reacts quickly.”
“When the meter rises, the users receive buffs.
Better speed, power, reflexes… anything the system deems necessary.”
His voice lowered slightly:
“And this meter can even work with a non-system user.
The outsider won’t see the meter, but they’ll still get buffs if the battle bond increases with a system user but their buffs will be slightly weaker than system users .”
Eira’s mouth fell open a little. “Temporary buffs that even non-users can get… that’s ridiculously overpowered in the right hands.”
Zane shrugged casually. “Temporary. And only when their teamwork is real.”
He lifted his second finger.
“There are also individual quests and team missions. The system will judge what they need.”
With rewards…?” Eira asked.
“With rewards,” Zane confirmed. “Mostly.”
She nodded.
“And all users will gain slightly enhanced growth and receive one unique blessing tailored to their talents.”
Zane smirked faintly.
“But the best feature…” he said, “is something the users won’t see at first.”
“The Syncro Meter.”
“Unlike the battle bond meter, only the system users can get benefits from it .”
He explained with calm precision:
“There are two types,” he continued.
“Small Syncro Meter – “They show personal sync, trust, synergy… all of it.
Each user gets three of these, like a relationship panel.”
Eira leaned forward, fascinated.
“And if one of these small meters fills completely…?”
Zane’s voice lowered, tone deepening.
“If a small syncro meter with someone reaches full, those two users unlock a special combination skill – something only they can use together.”
Eira’s expression lit up with excitement. “That’s… that’s incredibly powerful.”
Zane smiled faintly.
“And then there’s the Team Syncro Meter — the big one.”
“When the entire team syncs deeply — when all their bonds align — the team unlocks a special ability.”
His eyes glowed deep purple as he said it.
“With that special Ability… the four user can defeat someone far, far stronger than them.
A foe they have no business fighting normally.”
Eira’s mouth fell open a little.
“That strong…?”
Zane nodded. “And, well, there are many small features too.”
Eira hesitated, then asked quietly:
“Boss… what is that mysterious team skill they unlock? The one from the Team Syncro Meter?”
Zane smirked — a slow, knowing smirk.
“Let it be a surprise for everyone.”
Eira blinked fast.
“…Everyone??”
Zane ignored her confusion and turned his gaze back to the glowing crystals.
Eira cleared her holographic throat. “…Anyway, Boss… what is the name of this system?”
Zane placed a hand on his chin, thoughtful.
The joined crystals rotated softly, their greenish radiance reflecting in his eyes.
After a few seconds, he spoke.
“The name of the system shall be…”
He smiled.
“Synchronis System.”
The crystals pulsed in agreement — as if the name itself activated something deep within them.
