Chapter 252: Separation And Arrival
The grassland inside the Chrono Cube stood quiet.
There were no clashes or explosions anyhowls.
Only stillness.
Zane stood there with a faint smile, his hands relaxed as he looked at the three figures in front of him.
Maera. Drevin. Selene.
All three stood facing him, their clothes torn, bodies covered with marks of training—but their presence had changed. It had been fifteen days inside the cube.
And today—
Their training was complete.
Zane looked at them and asked, “Ready to go?”
The three of them nodded almost at the same time.
“Yeah.”
Zane gave a small nod. Then he raised his hand slightly.
All around them, the E.I.R.A bots that were scattered across the grassland began to move. One by one, they flew toward him and shrank mid-air, turning back into small doll-like forms before entering his bag.
Once everything was collected—
Zane snapped his fingers.
In the next moment—
All four of them disappeared from the grassland.
—
Their eyes opened.
They were back.
The Chrono Cube floated in front of them for a brief moment before its surface slowly closed. The glowing lines dimmed as it returned to its dormant state, just like when Zane had first taken it out.
Then it shrank slightly and flew back into his bag.
The three students looked around.
They were under a tree, just outside the academy grounds.
Morning had arrived.
Both red suns were rising slowly in the sky, casting a deep crimson hue across everything. The light…the red sky felt… different.
It felt familiar.
For a moment, none of them spoke.
They had trained for fifteen days.
But here—
Only fifteen hours had passed.
It still felt unreal.
Zane, who had been quiet, looked at his hand for a moment as if thinking about something. Then he spoke.
“You three go ahead.”
They looked at him.
“Head toward Glimmereach and Thesmeris Kingdom.”
A brief pause.
“I’ll meet you there. You probably have to take teleportation gate next town as teleportation gate already been destroyed during the attack and are still under construction.”
Selene frowned slightly. “You’re not coming with us, Professor?”
Zane shook his head.
“I told you. I’ll meet you there.”
His tone was calm.
“I have something to take care of first.”
Maera stepped forward slightly. “But—”
Zane cut her off with a small smile.
“It won’t take long.”
Selene looked at him, a bit worried.
“…You won’t disappear like before, right?”
A pause.
“Promise us, Professor.”
Zane looked at her for a moment.
Then he smiled gently.
He reached out and patted her head, ruffling her hair slightly.
“Don’t worry.”
“I won’t disappear.”
“I’ll meet you there.”
At that moment, his technowatch lit up.
A small holographic figure popped out.
Eira—in her chibi form.
“Best of luck to all of you,” she said cheerfully.
The three nodded.
“…Thank you.”
Zane glanced at them one last time.
Then—
He vanished.
Leaving the three of them standing under the red morning sky.
—
Far beyond the world—
There was only silence.
Endless vacuum stretched in every direction, scattered with countless points of light. Stars shimmered like distant embers, cold and untouchable.
Among them, a massive blue star burned brightly.
Around it, several planets revolved in steady orbits, their paths calm and undisturbed.
Then—
Space distorted.
Zane appeared.
He stood there in the vacuum, completely unaffected, his gaze fixed on the blue star and the system around it.
For a moment, he said nothing.
Then his technowatch lit up.
Eira’s chibi form appeared, floating beside him.
“Boss, what happened?” she asked mentally. “Why did you come here so suddenly?”
Zane didn’t answer immediately.
He simply said—
“Watch.”
He raised his hand slightly.
Then flicked his finger.
A faint white-grey streak of mana shot forward.
It didn’t look impressive.
Not at first.
But the moment it traveled—
Everything in its path disappeared.
Space itself seemed to split as the energy passed through. It pierced straight through the blue star, cutting through its core without resistance, and continued forward until it vanished into the distance.
For a brief second—
Nothing happened.
Then—
The star collapsed.
A massive hole formed in its core, destabilizing it instantly.
And the next moment—
It exploded.
A supernova.
Blinding light burst outward, followed by an overwhelming wave of heat, energy, matter, gas, and mana. The explosion expanded rapidly, consuming everything around it.
And in the middle of it—
Zane stood.
Without any barrier or protection.
The storm of destruction clashed around him but couldn’t do anything.
Eira spoke again, slightly confused.
“…And what does that prove, boss?”
Zane sighed.
Then vanished.
He reappeared far away from the expanding explosion, watching it from a safe distance.
“…Did I make you as an artificial intelligence,” he said dryly, “or artificially dumb? Scan me…”
Eira frowned slightly. “I’m not that dumb…”
Still, she activated her scanner.
A beam passed over Zane—
And instantly failed.
Her expression changed.
“…Boss… all sensors got fried the moment they scanned you.”
Zane nodded.
“Exactly.”
He looked at his own hand for a moment.
“You already know this. I become so strong that now mystrength increases automatically every moment.”
His gaze shifted back toward the distant supernova.
“But after going into that trash item Chrono Cube… it started increasing ten times faster as the time was also 10 times faster.”
A brief pause.
“Before, something like that…” he gestured toward the explosion, “…would take a casual wave of my hand.”
Then he flicked his finger again slightly.
“Now… it only takes this.”
Eira stayed quiet.
Zane continued, his tone more serious now.
“And I’ve started emitting something… like cosmic radiation.”
“I’ve been suppressing it till now.”
Another pause.
“But if my students had been exposed to it…”
His eyes narrowed slightly.
“They would have died instantly.”
Silence.
The weight of that statement lingered.
Zane exhaled slowly.
“I need to place another seal.”
“To bring my strength back down to its original level.”
He looked at the light of the supernova.
Then sighed again.
“…Being too strong is also kind of annoying.”
—
Back to maera and group,
The three of them moved quickly.
The academy was already behind them, and the road ahead led toward the nearest town. None of them spoke much. There was a quiet urgency in their steps now. Training was over—this wasn’t preparation anymore.
This was real.
By the time they reached the town, they had already changed out of their torn clothes. The place was busy, filled with people moving about their daily routines, completely unaware of what was about to unfold in another part of the world.
They didn’t stop.
Straight to the teleportation gate station.
Maera stepped forward first and spoke to the guard.
“To Thesmeris Kingdom’s royal city.”
The guard looked at them for a moment, then shook his head.
“Can’t go there.”
Maera frowned slightly. “Why?”
“Due to the wedding,” the guard replied casually. “Crown Prince of Glimmereach Kingdom and Crown Princess of Thesmeris Kingdom are getting married.”
He crossed his arms.
“All direct teleportation routes to the royal city are closed due to security reasons .”
A brief pause.
“If you want to go, you’ll have to take a gate to Coin Town. It’s the nearest point.”
Maera thinks something for a moment, but then nodded.
“…Fine.”
She and Selene both took out coins.
Drevin stayed silent for a second… then slowly reached into his pocket.
He took out nine gold coins.
There was a slight pause.
Then he handed them over—with visible pain.
The guard nodded, took the coins, and began setting the coordinates.
The runes around the gate activated, glowing softly.
Then—
A blue swirling portal formed within the frame.
“Enter.”
The three of them stepped forward without hesitation.
—
A brief distortion.
Then—
They opened their eyes.
They had arrived.
Coin Town.
As they stepped out of the gate, Drevin suddenly staggered slightly.
“…ugh…”
He held his stomach, his face turning a bit pale.
Selene and Maera looked at him immediately.
Maera spoke first, a bit amused.
“Take a deep breath, Drevin. Its your first time using a teleportation gate, right?”
Drevin nodded, still trying to stabilize himself. “…Yeah…”
He inhaled deeply, forcing himself to straighten up again, his expression returning to normal as if nothing had happened.
Just then, the guard on this side stepped forward.
“Payment.”
Drevin blinked.
“…You have to pay here too?”
Maera nodded casually. “Both sides.”
Drevin’s face stiffened.
“…I don’t have any money left.”
He looked down slightly.
“That was my last saving.”
Selene sighed.
Then stepped forward and handed over the coins.
“I’ll cover it.”
She glanced at him.
“You can pay me back later.”
Drevin looked at her for a moment.
Then gave a small nod.
“…Thanks.”
The guard took the coins and stepped aside.
And just like that—
They were in Coin Town.
One step closer.
.
.
.
They didn’t waste time.
The moment they stepped out of the gate, the three of them moved together toward their destination. No detours, no breaks—just straight ahead.
Their pace was fast.
The urgency was clear on all three faces.
After around twenty minutes—
They slowed down.
Because they could see it.
Their destination.
From a distance, the view opened up into a vast and breathtaking landscape.
The Kingdom of Thesmeris spread across wide fertile plains, its royal city alive with movement. White stone buildings stood close together, forming a dense and busy city filled with markets, traders, and the constant clinking of coins. Even from afar, the sound of activity seemed to carry through the air.
At the center—
A massive royal palace stood tall, dominating the city below.
But that wasn’t what caught their attention the most.
High above, slightly to the east, floated another city.
The Kingdom of Glimmereach, specifically it’s Royal City.
It hovered in the sky, supported by thick veins of special rock that glowed with a soft blue-white light. The entire kingdom remained suspended effortlessly in the air, its presence casting a slow-moving shadow over Thesmeris below.
Crystal towers rose from its surface, along with stone structures and small hanging gardens that drifted gently with the floating land.
The sky itself burned in shades of orange, gold, and deep red, lit by the two crimson suns.
Between the two kingdoms—
Sky-barges moved back and forth, carrying guests for the royal wedding. Nobles, merchants, and dignitaries traveled between the ground city and the floating one, connecting both worlds in celebration.
For a moment—
The three of them just stood there, taking it in.
Then Selene exhaled slightly.
“…Finally.”
“We’re here.”
