Chapter 200: Back To Training
In a Castle ,Everion
The round chamber was silent except for the low hum of divine wards etched into the walls.
At the center, a circular table of obsidian hovered slightly above the floor. Around it sat the hooded divine figures, their forms indistinct, their presence alone enough to bend the air. At the far end, the High Minister stood with his hands clasped behind his back, expression tightly controlled.
“Tyron should have returned by now,” the minister said, voice sharp.
“Did she reach Sylas?”
A guard stepped forward and dropped to one knee, head bowed deeply toward the hooded figures.
“My lords… we failed to capture Eirenyssa.”
The minister’s eyes narrowed.
“She escaped?”
“Yes,” the guard replied. “But instead of heading toward Lord Sylas’s palace… she fled to the mortal realm.”
The words lingered.
“…The mortal realm?” the minister repeated slowly.
His fingers tightened.
“And Tyron?” he asked. “He followed her, did he not?”
The guard nodded
“Lord Tyron did follow her to mortal realm with two divine guards but….”
The guard hesitated.
The hesitation was answer enough.
“But?” the minister snapped.
The guard lowered his head further.
“Lord Tyron’s life crystal… has shattered.”
For the first time, the room reacted.
A ripple passed through the divine figures. The light behind their hoods flickered faintly.
“That’s impossible,” the High Minister said, disbelief cutting through his composure.
“In her condition, that girl shouldn’t have been able to defeat even a low-ranking soldier—much less Tyron.”
His fist slammed into the table.
“Damn it…!”
One of the hooded figures—the same one who had detected Eirenyssa during the meeting—spoke calmly.
“The plan proceeds regardless.”
Another voice followed, deeper, carrying authority. The leader.
“If she is in the mortal realm,” the hooded leader said, “then she will be erased along with it.”
The minister’s expression steadied.
“Yes… of course,” he said quietly. “The mortal realm will fall anyway.”
The leader continued, unmoved.
“We return to the God Realm. Preparations are complete. A strike team of gods will be dispatched to annihilate the planet.”
One by one, the hooded figures rose.
Their forms blurred, light folding inward—
And then they vanished.
The chamber fell empty.
Only the High Minister remained.
He straightened his robes, a slow smile spreading across his face.
“After the mortal realm is destroyed,” he murmured, “those fools will thank me.”
The wards hummed softly.
Inside the teacher’s residence, the room was quiet—unnaturally so.
Zane sat on a simple chair near the window, one leg crossed over the other, eyes closed as if resting. Outside, Astralis Arcanum went on as usual. Students walked the paths. Mana lamps glowed softly. Nothing hinted at the weight pressing down on the world.
On the bed behind him, Eirenyssa sat upright, freshly healed but still exhausted, her long storm-gray hair spilling over her shoulders. She watched Zane’s back in silence.
Eira floated lazily through the air, her chibi form spinning once before stopping in front of him.
“What are you thinking about, boss?” she asked, curiosity clear in her tone.
Zane didn’t open his eyes.
“I’m thinking,” he said calmly, “about how I should deal with the God Realm problem.”
Eira tilted her head.
“When will they attack?” she asked, glancing toward Eirenyssa. “Now that she knows their plan—will they even attack ?”
Zane hummed softly.
“They will,” he said. “People like them don’t change plans lightly. And from their perspective, there’s a more efficient solution.”
He opened his eyes slightly, violet light glinting.
“If the person who knows the truth is on the very planet they intend to erase… what better way to silence her than to destroy her along with the planet ?”
Eira blinked, then nodded slowly.
“…That actually makes sense, boss.”
Zane turned his head toward the bed.
“Eirenyssa,” he said, voice even. “Tell me. When will they move?”
She straightened at once.
“If my understanding is correct,” she replied, choosing her words carefully, “they planned to act immediately after returning to the God Realm. Accounting for time difference…”
She paused, calculating.
“…About four days. Four days in Orimund’s time.”
Zane nodded once.
“Four days, huh…”
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
“For now,” he continued, standing up, “you’ll stay here. Rest. You can’t return to Everion anyway—not with them watching.”
Eirenyssa nodded quietly. “Yes, my lord.”
Zane turned back toward the window, hands slipping into his coat pockets.
Outside, the sky was peaceful.
Too peaceful.
He chuckled under his breath, a dangerous glint in his eyes.
“Come on,” he muttered softly.
“Show yourselves, people of the God Realm…”
“So I can have a little more entertainment.”
Zane turned away from the window, the faint smirk still on his face.
“Until then,” he said casually, “let’s just do some teaching.”
There was a brief pause.
“After all… this story is about that too.”
Eira blinked, her chibi form tilting sideways in confusion.
“…Boss? What are you talking about?”
Zane waved it off lightly.
“Nothing,” he replied. “I was just thinking out loud.”
He picked up his techno-watch from the desk and fastened it around his wrist, the device humming softly as it synced.
“I should go meet my students,” he added. “I’ve been away since the guest lecture. Wouldn’t want them thinking their professor disappeared again.”
Eira floated after him.
“You really are calm for someone with gods planning planetary destruction.”
Zane smiled faintly as he walked toward the door.
“Calm?” he said. “No.”
He paused for half a second, eyes glinting.
“I’m just looking forward to it.”
“And you know me , with me
her nothing can go wrong.”
Eira floated beside zane
“That’s valid”
With that, he stepped out of the room, the door sliding shut behind him—leaving Eirenyssa resting in silence, and four days ticking quietly toward disaster.
In Class Caelis,
The class felt unusually dull.
Ron leaned back in his seat, staring at the ceiling.
…So boring.
Beside him, Lia fought a losing battle, pen moving sluggishly as her eyelids drooped. She forced herself to write, nodding off every few seconds.
Selene, sitting next to her, was at least taking proper notes—but even she sighed quietly, fingers pausing every now and then.
And beside Selene—
Jax was completely alseep.
Head down on the desk. Mouth slightly open. Drool soaking into his notebook.
Selene glanced sideways.
“…What am I supposed to do with this idiot?”
The bell rang.
The professor closed his book and left without ceremony.
Selene turned immediately and grabbed Jax’s shoulder.
“Wake up, Jax.”
No response.
She shook him harder.
“Jax.”
“…Selene… let me sleep…” he muttered, face still planted on the desk. “Just… five more… hours…”
A twitch appeared on Selene’s forehead.
She grabbed his ear and pinched it hard.
“WAKE UP, IDIOT!!”
Jax shot upright.
“WHERE—WHAT—ENEMY?!”
The class burst into laughter.
“Get down, Jax!” Selene hissed, face burning with embarrassment.
Jax slowly sat back down, rubbing his ear.
Ron was barely holding it in. Lia covered her mouth, shoulders shaking.
Selene crossed her arms.
“You’re going to fail if you don’t study properly.”
“But it’s boring,” Jax complained. “All the lectures are boring these days.”
Ron nodded in agreement.
“Yeah… feels the same to me.”
Jax leaned back.
“That’s what I’m saying! Without Professor Zane, everything’s dull. Training, lectures—”
“With him,” Ron added, “even training feels fun.”
Selene sighed.
“I heard he went with Professor Mira Sorenhal to Gravundar Kingdom for a guest lecture.”
Lia looked up.
“He should’ve returned by now, right…?”
“He should have,” Selene agreed.
Jax groaned dramatically.
“Ugh… when will he come back and save us from boredom?”
Then—
A familiar voice echoed through the hall.
“Your saviour is here.”
The door slid open.
Zane stepped inside, coat fluttering lightly, purple eyes glinting with amusement.
The class froze for half a second.
Then—
“PROFESSOR ZANE!!!”
The room erupted.
Zane smiled faintly, hands in his pockets.
“Alright,” he said calmly, eyes sweeping across them.
“Let’s get back to training, shall we?”
