The king had a few things to get in the castle before leaving. He was storing everything inside a ring—a spatial one. It was basically a type of inventory.

William was quite surprised by the amount of items the king put inside that thing. The ring had tremendously high storage.

Also, the king wasn’t the only one storing items. All the royal family members had similar rings, and they were all working together to gather everything. William, Victoria, and Kier were only there to watch.

Kier was so scared that he barely spoke. He was afraid William might decide to kill him for some reason. In fact, William was thinking about it.

“Kier, you know I’m being really merciful, right? I mean, you basically left me to die back then,” William said.

“I’m so sorry, but don’t worry—I’ll make up for it. What do you say about having someone to work for you and do anything? I can be that person for you.”

That wasn’t bad. William would actually enjoy having someone to help him and follow orders. It wasn’t like Kier was weak in the first place. He would be decent.

“Alright, deal. We can make a pact later, after we leave this island. What do you say? So you can’t do anything to betray me again,” William suggested.

“Of course,” Kier said with a long sigh. He was glad he’d found a way to survive.

It would cost him his freedom, but for Kier, that was way better than dying horribly.

Anyway, William asked the king what they were actually gathering before leaving the palace, but he didn’t really say—or rather, only gave some general answers.

“Just items that belong to our family, don’t worry,” the king said.

William then asked something that had been bothering him. “After we leave the demon island, are you willing to give me some of your demon scripts? I want to get stronger.”

The king didn’t look surprised. He had been expecting William to ask for something like that.

“Yes. I have a few copies you can use,” he said. “But we never use the original texts. The originals are always stored in a safe place.”

If Kier wanted to stay alive, he had to prove himself. “Yes, you do. Let’s fight those bastards.”

He looked excited and ready to fight. William liked that.

“If you need, I can help you too,” the king said, “though I don’t want to show up at the start. They’ll all try to attack me if I do.”

The king was someone all the soldiers around the palace would recognize. If he showed up, they would do everything they could to capture him.

It was better if the king stayed hidden and only revealed himself if William and Kier truly needed help. The best scenario would be the one where the king didn’t show up at all.

Victoria looked a little worried. “Are you sure you can win against them? There are a lot of them…”

After being inside that pool of blood, William had gained more than just a new kind of transformation. His attributes—his base stats—had increased by around 100 points each.

He had only noticed that after the fight with Jhen ended. A hundred points was a massive power boost. His strength was on another level now.

Because of that, he didn’t believe the weak soldiers around the palace stood a chance against him.

The confident way William spoke made Victoria relax. Every single time, he proved her wrong and did things she never imagined possible. She wouldn’t doubt him.

“This is one of the exits,” the king said, pointing at a door. “We’ll wait inside. You and Kier go out and fight.”

Victoria wanted to help, but William asked her to stay inside—just in case.

“If we need your help, we’ll come and knock on the door,” William said to the king.

“Understood.”

William and Kier left the palace. They had no idea what time of day it was before stepping outside. It was impossible to tell from inside the palace.

But when they finally emerged, they saw the sun rising. The day was just beginning.

“The day is just starting for these soldiers,” William said, sword in hand, slowly walking toward their camp. “And they have no idea it’s their last.”

If he could have simply ignored all those soldiers and left, he would’ve done it. They all would. But that wasn’t an option. They had to kill them. William had to kill them.

Kier walked beside him, ready to do whatever he could to help win the fight.

It didn’t take long for them to reach the camp where the soldiers were staying. At that point, it was basically a small village, with so many houses and tents clustered together.

Unlike William, Kier wasn’t feeling confident.

“You know there are a lot of them, right? Can we actually win?”

Even though both of them were powerful — with William being far stronger at that moment — the number of soldiers around the palace was still high.

It wouldn’t be an easy fight, and that was exactly why Kier was so scared.

William simply laughed. “Just watch this.”

After improving his bloodline, gaining more attributes, and achieving greater mastery over his black fire spells, William’s fireballs had reached a terrifying level.

He didn’t know exactly what to expect, but judging by what he saw in his system, the attack would be devastating.

They were still far from the camp, yet William was already casting two black fireballs — one in each hand.

The spells grew in size within seconds, and the heat they gave off was intense enough that Kier had to step back. The power behind them made both their hair whip in the wind, and even the nearby trees began to sway.

“Damn,” Kier muttered. “This looks like a fucking artillery strike.”

William aimed and hurled one of the fireballs, just to see the damage it could do. The massive sphere of flame shot toward the soldiers’ camp and reached it in seconds.

It was much faster than before — and way more deadly.

The soldiers saw the fireball coming and tried to react, but many were still asleep. They never stood a chance.

Boom! A massive explosion tore through the camp. Tents and houses went up in flames, and a gaping crater opened in the earth. Many soldiers died instantly. Others burned slowly, screaming.

William stared, stunned by the sheer destruction. The power was far greater than he expected.

“I think one fireball is enough to win this fight and deal with the survivors,” William said. “But let’s throw another one—just for fun.”

He tossed the second fireball. When the soldiers saw another blazing sphere flying toward them, they panicked.

“Another one?! RUN!”

They had assumed the first blast was a one-time attack with a long recharge. That was how powerful spells usually worked. But William could cast them back to back—at least as long as he had demon energy.

William and Kier watched the flames from afar.

“Let’s deal with the survivors.”

“U-Understood,” Kier replied.

The majority of the soldiers had perished in the two fireball blasts—at least all the ones near the camp.But a few patrol groups, scattered around the area, had seen the smoke and rushed back toward the destruction.

Despite the massive damage, there were still soldiers left to fight.But now, the battle was far easier.

As William and Kier approached, some of the surviving soldiers spotted them.

“Who are you? What do you want?” one of them shouted, clearly still shaken by what they had just witnessed.

“I’m here to kill all of you,” William said, calm and cold. “Will you let me?”

“Are you the one who threw those fireballs?” another soldier asked, his voice trembling.

William smiled. “Yes. Do you want another one? If so, I’ll gladly give it to you.”

He began casting again—fast.

The familiar heat and darkness surged around his hand, and another massive black fireball formed almost instantly.

When the soldiers saw it coming, they panicked.

“Another fireball! Find cover!”
