Chapter 332: Showing Dominance

William waited anxiously in front of the principal’s office door. He didn’t mind waiting a few minutes.

As soon as the door opened and he entered the office, the first thing he did was nod respectfully.

“Welcome,” said the principal. “Are you the new teacher?”

“Yes, that’s me,” said William.

The principal stared at him for a few moments. At that moment, he felt a little cornered, afraid that his disguise had been discovered.

However, in the end, the principal just said, surprised, “You showed up earlier than I expected.”

The guards at the Magic Academy had said the same thing. Everyone was surprised to see William show up so early.

Of course, he was there in disguise. He was using the ID of another William, but he wasn’t the real teacher.

The real teacher had been kidnapped and most likely killed by the necromancer cult.

William felt sad thinking about it; after all, someone had lost their life so he could enter the academy as a spy.

“The journey went well. Nothing happened on the road,” William said.

“That’s good. It’s always a relief when a trip goes smoothly,” the principal replied, glancing at his watch. “I’m glad you’re early—you have class in fifteen minutes.”

“Fifteen minutes?”

William hadn’t expected to start so soon. He came to the academy early to have time to prepare, but apparently that wouldn’t happen. The principal wanted him teaching right away.

“Yes,” the principal said. “The students have already missed one combat class, and we can’t afford to lose another. Their parents pay a fortune to make sure everything runs properly.”

Most of the academy’s students came from wealthy families, and their parents were always quick to pressure the staff to keep standards high.

“What classes do I have to attend?” William asked.

He wanted to know exactly what was in store for him. This was important because he had no idea what to expect or what his role as a professor at that academy would entail.

“I believe there’s a freshman class and a senior class,” the principal said. Then he stared at William’s missing arm and asked, “What happened to your arm?”

That information wasn’t in the files when he hired William as a professor. Well, it wasn’t because the real William had both arms.

“I didn’t tell you about this because it usually causes people not to hire me. I’m sorry about it,” William said.

The principal stared at him for a few seconds before saying, “That would never happen here. In fact, it might prove that you have the necessary experience to teach here. I assume you lost this during a fight.”

The principal didn’t want a teacher who had never actually fought. Seeing that William was missing an arm meant that he had the experience the principal needed.

William nodded. “Yes, I lost it during a fight.”

“All right, then. We can talk more later. Take these files.”

The principal was referring to the files about William’s classes. William needed to know where to go and the names of the students. The academy was massive, and he would be lost without something to guide him.

William checked the file and saw that the first class was for first-year students.

“That’s good,” he thought.

It would be better for him to adjust to this new environment by having a class with new students instead of seniors. He looked around the academy, trying to find where his class was.

From a distance, he saw a massive gymnasium. The students were waiting for him there.

They were all talking to each other before he came in. The students were laughing and acting as if they were on vacation with friends rather than in class.

William stepped in. Everyone looked at him the moment he entered. However, he had overheard them before entering. Most students thought they wouldn’t have combat class again because their teacher had yet to arrive. They were wrong.

“Silence, please,” William said.

The students fell completely silent. William knew, however, that it wouldn’t be that easy to earn their respect.

“I arrived at the academy earlier than expected, which is why you have class today instead of lazing around as you were doing before.”

At first, the students didn’t say a word. They just looked at William as though they were analyzing him.

Then one of them raised his hand to speak. William looked at the student and, deep down, sensed that he was about to say something unpleasant, but still allowed him to speak.

“Are you sure you have what it takes to teach us? I mean, you only have one arm…”

William stared at the student and said, “Let’s have a quick training fight.”

The student was caught off guard and didn’t know how to respond. William called to him again.

“Come on. Show me what you’ve got. I only have one arm, remember?”

They moved to the center of the gymnasium. All the other students watched curiously. None of them knew what to expect.

The student who said that was nervous about facing William, but William was completely relaxed. He was far superior to that student. In fact, he believed he was stronger than the other teachers and the principal.

Having only one arm—for the time being, while he waited for the other to grow back—didn’t change that.

William wanted to show them his superiority and force them to respect him.

The student stood still, staring at William.

“Will you move, or should I?” William asked.

He didn’t want to make the first move because, well, if he did, the student would lose. William wanted to block an attack first to show them how weak they were.

The student, reluctant, decided to move. He also used body-enhancing magic, so he looked forward to close combat with William.

There were a few punches and kicks. None of them could harm William. He blocked them all while teaching the other students.

“Never underestimate your opponent just because he doesn’t look strong,” he said.

“I could beat all the other teachers in this academy with just one arm.”

That was a powerful statement. The students held their breath, afraid of William.

“Now, I’ll allow you to hit me once,” he said.

He stopped moving. A student punched him right in the face, but nothing happened. His body was just too strong, and the attack didn’t hurt him.

“I could stand here the entire month, and you still wouldn’t hurt me,” he said.

The student apologized. “I’m sorry for the earlier comment. I’m embarrassed by it.”
