Chapter 333: Impacting the Whole Academy

The way all the students treated William changed drastically after he showcased his power. No one wanted to get into his nerves anymore, and the fact that he had only one arm vanished from their minds.

After the class ended, William had some free time before going into his next class. During his free time, he went into a small restaurant inside the academy grounds to grab something to eat.

There, he met one of the teachers. She was a gorgeous lady, dressed in a tight black dress and with dark hair. She had a tattoo on her forearm.

“So you are the new teacher, right?” she said, drinking her orange juice. “I’ve heard about you.”

William sat next to her and ordered something to eat.

“How do you know it’s me?” he asked.

She chuckled, “I mean, you look older compared to the students with your long hair and beard. Also, everyone is talking about the new teacher who only has one arm.”

William knew that deep down, most of the teachers — like the students — didn’t see him as a fit for the academy. They thought that he was just not good enough to be a teacher. They thought he was just a crippled man.

“You do have a valid point,” William said, extending his right arm for a handshake, “I’m William.”

“Carrie.”

“So what do you teach, Carrie?”

“Summoning,” she said, “it’s not a specific element but more like a sub-element. A student with the fire affinity can summon fire entities, for example.”

“Oh?”

William got curious about it. He didn’t know something like that existed. Well, of course, he knew more powerful mages could use summons, but he didn’t know there was a specific subject about it.

Also, Carrie stated that one didn’t need to be a powerful mage to start summoning.

“The biggest misconception people have is that only powerful mages can use summons of their elements, and that’s wrong. There are summons from all levels of power in the Elemental Realm; all you need to do is learn how to summon them.”

William wondered for a moment if his necromancy summons came from the same realm or if it was from somewhere else. He didn’t ask her that, obviously.

“But hey, William,” Carrie said, “Some people are saying you said something about the other teachers during your first class? Like you could beat them all up with just one arm. Is that true?”

“Don’t tell me the news spread this fast? My class ended like ten minutes ago,” William replied.

For a moment, William thought that Carrie would get angry because of what he said, but she looked relaxed. In fact, she even joked about it.

“People in this academy have nothing else to do, so they love gossip,” she said, “you should be careful about what you say.”

“I’ll. Thanks.”

The waiter came with William’s food, and with it, Carrie left, stating that she had some business to attend to and couldn’t stay longer. William didn’t mind it. It was already good enough that she talked with him in a friendly manner after what he said.

William ate his food with no hurry, savoring every bite. To his surprise, the principal came to the restaurant to speak with him.

When he saw him, the first thing that came to William’s mind was that he was in some deep shit about what he said or did during his first class, but in fact, the principal came to congratulate him about it.

“A few first-year students came to speak with me, saying how they liked the new teacher. Some are even saying that I should increase your classes in the first year and let other teachers deal with the senior students.”

“They said that?”

“Yes, they did. And I think that’s a good idea. I really feel like you could have the most impact on the first-year students, considering your approach to the class, and how they seemed to like you. It’s the first time the students are actually asking me to have extra classes during their free time.”

The students were eager to have more classes with William, and because of that, the principal was thinking of changing the classes.

“You can have the rest of the day to rest,” he said, “I’ll see how I can make this work, and tomorrow, I’ll talk to you about this.”

After that, the principal left, leaving William startled. He was not expecting that to happen. His first class had a profound impact on the entire academy.

Was that a good thing? In the end, William was there on a secret mission for the necromancy cult.

Anyway, he finished his meal and went to his room. One of the academy guards showed him the way. It was a specific building where all the teachers lived.

Of course, most of them were not there because they had classes and other commitments. Only Willima received the day off.
