I wasn’t sure what to say to the revelation Amelia had just blurted out. It was definitely surprising, but at the same time, everything clicked in my mind. So many things that had been weird about her behavior suddenly made a lot more sense. The blushing, the glancing in my direction rather than looking away, her trying to get closer to me or just staring in my direction for no reason.
Amelia liked me.
To be honest, I had no idea why she liked me. I hadn’t done anything worth her love. I just wanted to kill Zero. That was the only reason why I was even here in the first place.
There was also Ava, who was someone I truly cared about, and I did not want to hurt her by doing something that might anger her. I wasn’t exactly sure about our relationship between the two of us. However, I knew that she was interested in me just like Amelia currently was. In fact, Amelia was a lot closer to me and for a much longer amount of time compared to when I had been with Ava back in the Atlantis Kingdom, where she had run away from me.
Who knows what would have happened if she hadn’t run away.
I had no choice but to dismiss those thoughts of mine as Amelia looked at me and suddenly opened her mouth.
“I’ve liked you ever since… you know that hug when we were around the fire camp.”
I wasn’t too sure what to tell her. She wasn’t the same as Ava. I currently didn’t feel much toward her.
She was beautiful, and her body was also incredible with the right proportions. She was also the queen of an entire kingdom. However, I wasn’t close enough to her, and I didn’t know enough about her to say that I liked her. She was definitely my friend, though. It just hadn’t been enough time since I had met her.
“You’ve liked me since then… him. I guess it does make sense now that I think about it,” I muttered quietly.
After all, I didn’t want everyone around us to hear our conversation. I didn’t want to humiliate Amelia or say anything that could make the others mock her as a result.
When she looked at me, I wasn’t sure what to say or do. I knew she wanted me to say what I felt… but I didn’t want to hurt her.
“Uh… I don’t know what to say.”
She smiled slightly. “Just say how you feel about me. That’s it. It’s fine if you don’t feel the same way. I won’t be mad…”
However, while she said that she wouldn’t be mad, I could already tell that she would become extremely sad over it. I needed to come up with an answer that basically didn’t answer the question while answering it. A bit like politicians would do so well, dodging the questions but also answering them very vaguely, and I just thought of the perfect response that worked everything.
“It’s complicated. I can’t really formulate it with my words.”
“Then, show it to me with your actions,” she whispered in my ear as she got even closer to me.
My hands were still around the waist, and I had to say that she found a loophole in my question. She was good, very good.
‘What do I do now…’ I said internally, thinking of another way to get out of this situation.
I moved my hands from her waist and moved them to her back, slowly caressing them.
“I don’t know if I like you yet… this is all too sudden, and I can’t give you an answer right now.”
Amelia looked down as she pouted slightly. “Is it because I’m not pretty enough… is my body not enough?”
She started looking at herself, observing her curves, even grabbing them without any care as she continued to pout in my direction. I couldn’t say that this whole situation wasn’t turning me on because she was…very sexy, especially since the clothes she was wearing were practically stuck on her body, highlighting all of her curves very well… if I looked closely enough, I could even the shape of her nipples through the shirt she was wearing.
Yeah, it was getting harder to control myself because of how she acted. But! I managed to hold down. I didn’t want to take advantage of her like this, especially since we had just met a few days ago.
“It’s not about your appearance.” I gave her a good look. “…you’re definitely very attractive, and I’m sure any man would like to go out with you. But… I’m not like all men. I’m different.”
She smiled as I gave her that compliment. However, that smile suddenly left her face when I finished my sentence. “D-Does that mean that you don’t like me?”
I shook my head. “I don’t know yet. It’s too sudden. I need to know you better.”
She nodded. She understood what I was talking about. However, she was still disappointed that I hadn’t answered her advances. She clearly wanted more from me, but I just couldn’t bring myself to tell her what she wanted to hear. Not yet, at least.
“I see… well if you can’t tell me yet. Can we stay like this until we get out of the Icy Lake? I want to stay close to you,” Amelia muttered as she still had this red hue around her cheeks. She really did look cute.
“Sure, we can stay like this,” I answered, slowly patting the top of her head. “This feels nice for me too, don’t worry.”
I wasn’t one who would complain about having the queen of a kingdom on my lap, practically offering herself to me. Honestly, if it was any other men in my place, they would have probably given in by now. After all, her body and beauty were just on another level.
However, as I said often, I was different from the rest.
