Before she could even reach him, the pressure blasted outward in a violent wave—slamming into her like a physical wall and throwing her back several meters.

“Stay back!” Alex barked through clenched teeth. “Don’t come closer—it’s dangerous!”

His right hand—the one gripping the sword—was now a map of bulging, throbbing veins. They pulsed erratically, as if the blade itself was trying to force his blood out of his body.

Alex’s vision began to blur, edges of reality smearing into streaks of light.

’This weapon… it’s resisting me.’

The System’s voice immediately cut through the haze.

“Shut. Up.” Alex snarled, his voice low and venomous.

He tightened his grip despite the screaming agony.

The Celestial Sunblade began to tremble violently, its inner power surging and crashing like a hurricane trapped inside a bottle.

A voice, ancient and imperious, slithered into his mind.

“Release me, mortal. You are not worthy of wielding me. Let go… or I will devour you.”

“I’m not trying to own you,” Alex hissed through gritted teeth, sweat dripping down his brow. “I’m just borrowing you—for a damn good reason.”

The sword’s glow flared again. The voice went silent, as if… listening.

But then the pressure doubled. Power slammed into him like a tidal wave, and his palm split open, blood seeping between his fingers. The sword was trying to throw him out of itself.

Alex only gripped tighter.

His vision swayed. The edges of his consciousness darkened.

’I’m… going to pass out at this rate.’

The tree-like constellation symbol on the back of his right hand suddenly ignited, pulsing with light unlike anything he had ever felt. Not the soft white glow from before—this was raw, primal, reality-warping brilliance.

All around him sat warriors, generals, and leaders—sharing drinks, teasing each other, and boasting about the day’s triumphs.

To Alex’s left sat a breathtaking mermaid woman, her hair the color of the deepest ocean blues, eyes glimmering like sunlight through water. To his right was an elven woman so ethereal her beauty could rival that of a goddess, her long blond hair cascading like moonlight.

They were all laughing about how they had crushed their enemies.

But Alex’s attention was pulled elsewhere—across the fire, where a man with golden hair and golden eyes sat calmly, his regal presence impossible to ignore. He looked… almost exactly like Ethan.

And beside him stood a man with pure white hair like falling snow, eyes a sharp, noble violet.

The white-haired man grinned and leaned forward.

“Alex, what do you think? I performed the best this time in the war, didn’t I? I killed at least hundreds of demigods single-handedly! But this bastard Ethan won’t admit his defeat!”

The name clicked in Alex’s mind like a bolt of lightning.

’Wait—Ethan? Did he just…’

Without thinking, Alex shot to his feet, the sudden motion making everyone freeze and look at him.

“What did you say his name was again?! And who the hell are you guys?! And why the hell am I here?!”

His gaze darted back to the golden-haired man—Ethan—and his breath caught.

At Ethan’s waist, sheathed and gleaming faintly under the campfire light, was the Celestial Sunblade.

’That’s… impossible.’

The mermaid beside him immediately stood, worry flashing in her eyes.

“Baby, are you alright? You’re acting strange.”

She reached out to touch his face—

Alex slapped her hand away without hesitation.

“Back off, lady! No one is allowed to touch my divine beauty!”

The blue-haired woman pouted dramatically while the entire group around the fire burst out laughing.

“You don’t learn, do you, Senara?” someone teased.

Even while pouting, the mermaid woman—Senara—smiled faintly.

“It’s not hurting to try,” she said softly, “and one day, I will win his heart.”

The elven woman on Alex’s right smirked and slid her arm over his shoulder.

“Yeah, Senara, you don’t learn. This guy here is mine. After all, his beauty is second only to mine… so logically, he should be with me.”

A vein bulged on Alex’s forehead.

’This woman… did she just challenge my Handsomeness?!’

He was instantly reminded of a certain elven girl back at the academy who made the same mistake.

Removing her arm from his shoulder, Alex turned to glare at her.

“And who are you, miss second-rate beauty, to call me inferior? Even the gods weep at not having a face like mine, so who the hell are you calling inferior?”

The elven woman’s mouth twitched violently. The camp erupted into even louder laughter.

The mermaid woman—Senara—laughed hardest, clutching her stomach.

“There you have it, Clara—you also got the same answer you always get!”

Alex finally shouted over the noise.

“Stop laughing!”

The laughter cut off instantly.

“Tell me what the hell is happening! Where am I, and who are you people?!”

The white-haired man stood first, his brows knitting in concern.

“Alex, are you alright? You seem sick. Don’t you remember me? Rowan Evans, leader of the Human Alliance.”

The golden-haired man rose next, his calm voice following.

“I’m Ethan Smith.”

Senara stood gracefully, bowing her head slightly.

“I’m Senara Aqualis, leader of the Mermaid Clans.”

The elven woman, still bristling from earlier, crossed her arms and spoke sharply.

“I’m Clara Moonshade Lareth’Thalas, leader of the Elven Forces.”

Then, from the other side of the fire, two figures rose in unison—a man and a woman who looked like mirror images of each other. Both had midnight-black hair, blood-red eyes, and an aura that made the temperature drop.

“I am Kane Noctis Bloodrose,” the man said evenly.

The woman’s voice was soft, but every syllable was laced with something Alex couldn’t place.

“And I am Lilith Noctis Bloodrose.”

Alex’s breath hitched.

’Lilith…?’

She smiled at him silently, and for some reason, it sent an unexplainable shiver down his spine.

Suddenly a new voice broke the tension.

“What’s going on here? Why is the atmosphere so tense?”

A woman walked toward them gracefully, her golden hair catching the firelight like strands of sunlight. Her beauty was mesmerizing, and Alex’s heart jolted in recognition.

’Evelyn?!’

Before he could even process it, the golden-haired man who looked identical to Ethan rushed to her side.

“Big Sis Aurora! Come take a look—Alex is acting so strange.”

’Aurora…?’

The name echoed in Alex’s mind like a hammer blow.
