The collapsing blood realm quaked harder as aura of darkness erupted from Lilith’s body, violent and consuming.

Obsidian-black armor formed around her, plates of pure night sealing over her figure. Edges gleamed with an unholy light, as if starlight had been trapped in stone. The armor curved to her form, making her appear both ethereal and terrifying — a war goddess draped in midnight dark steel.

Her hair whipped in the phantom winds of her own power, and her crimson eyes glowed like twin suns of blood.

She was beautiful, deadly, untouchable.

Nyx’s voice thundered in her mind, urgent and sharp.

Alex’s gaze locked onto her. His tone was cold, almost scolding as he saw the cracks forming on her body.

Lilith raised her hand, ignoring him. Shadows condensed into beasts — wolves, serpents, ravens, and horrors without name — clawing their way into reality. First by tens, then hundreds, then thousands, all circling Alex like a tide of nightmares.

But Alex noticed the cracks. Thin, glowing fractures spreading across Lilith’s skin and armor as if her very body was shattering under the strain.

For a heartbeat, he considered letting her die. The silence in his chest was heavy. Then he thought of the future battles, of the countless dangers waiting.

He cursed under his breath. “Damn it… oh, fuck it. Partner, let’s do this.”

After a few more seconds of filling her body with life energy.

Alex exhaled harshly, beads of sweat rolling down his temple.

“Damn it It really took a huge toll on me…” he muttered.

Around them, the Blood Realm groaned. Mirror-like cracks spidered across the crimson sky, the edges of reality splintering. Alex grimaced as he realized, ’Oh yeah… I’m responsible for this too.’

Then the whole blood realm collapsed.

A few moments later.

Lilith’s eyelashes fluttered. Slowly, her eyes opened.

Alex leaned back in the chair, expression unreadable.

“Damn right I saved you. But not because I wanted to. Trust me — I’m no hero. The only reason I didn’t kill you is because I owed you a favour and I saved you because I have some use for you. Also be glad that i have a big heart.”

Lilith smirked faintly, almost smiling despite almost dying a few moments ago.

“I went all out and still lost, huh? But for some reason… I don’t feel bad. It’s like a weight just lifted off my chest.”

She drew a breath to continue

But Alex cut her off sharply.

“I’m not interested in your sob story as why you did it. Listen here.”

He reached into his coat and produced a parchment sealed in black wax, sliding it across the desk toward her.

Lilith took it and as she read it her brows furrowed.

“This… this is a slave contract.”

Alex’s voice snapped like a whip.

“Listen first. I didn’t kill you because I owed you a favour — that makes us equal. Then I saved your life — that means you now owe me your life. So sign that.”

For a moment, Lilith stared at him, crimson eyes glinting.

“You really don’t know how to act humble, do you?”

Alex smirked.

“I’m the humblest person you’ll find in your entire life. So sign that, or…”

Lilith’s gaze sharpened.

“Or what?”

Alex hesitated, the bluff suddenly feeling thin.

“Or… I’ll kill you.”

Lilith tilted her head, genuinely baffled.

“Stop bluffing. Are you an idiot? You just said you saved my life.”

Inside his mind, Alex cursed. ’Damn it, she isn’t buying the bluff. What else can I threaten her with? I have too little information about her.’

A familiar voice chuckled in his head.

’Shut up, you useless thing,’Alex snapped inwardly.

Suddenly, Lilith stood up. The motion was smooth, predatory. Alex narrowed his eyes.

Alex’s mouth fell open. Before he could speak, Lilith dropped to one knee in front of him.

Her voice was steady, carrying the weight of centuries of bloodline and pride.

“I, Lilith Noctis Bloodrose, Crown Princess of the Bloodmoon Empire, heir to the bloodmoon empire line, do swear upon my blood and upon my life. From this moment until my final breath, I shall serve you, Alex Dragonheart, as your maid and blade. My life is yours, for you have saved it. My strength is yours, for you have spared it. Until my heart ceases to beat, I will stand by your side as your shield, your shadow, and your servant.”

Alex blinked.

Once.

Twice.

The third time as his mind refused to process what was just happening.

His eyes almost bulged out as if they might pop out anytime.

The system’s voice purred in his head, full of amusement.
