Chapter 52: Not Her
Furious, Damien stormed out of the room and made his way to the bar on the second floor. His steps were heavy, his jaw clenched so tight it ached. He didn’t look at anyone as he entered; his presence alone was enough to make conversations die down.
He took a seat at the bar and lifted two fingers in a sharp signal.
“Whiskey,” he ordered. “The strongest you have.”
The bartender didn’t ask questions. Within seconds, a full bottle was placed in front of him along with a glass. Damien didn’t bother with the glass. He grabbed the bottle and took a long, burning swallow, welcoming the fire as it tore down his throat.
It didn’t calm him. Another drink followed. Then another. No matter how much he drank, Sofia’s face stayed in his mind—her rage, her pain, the way she had looked at him like he was something she hated. The word “monster” echoed in his head, over and over again.
He was halfway through the bottle of whiskey when a shadow fell over him. He didn’t need to look up to recognize the scent and expensive cologne.
”I’m hearing rumors, Damien,” Alexander said, his voice tight with controlled fury as he took the stool beside him. “Rumors that you offered Sofia to your friends like a piece of meat. Tell me that isn’t true.”
Damien let out a harsh, jagged laugh, his eyes bloodshot as he finally looked at the other Alpha. “So it was you. You’re the one who put your scent on her. You’re the one who kissed her.”
”I kissed her to hide her from a guard!” Alexander hissed, leaning in. “You are a monster, Damien. I pity the people you rule. How can you condemn her so easily? Looking at her, anyone with a soul can see she isn’t guilty of what you claim. You’re going to lose her. I bet my life on it—by the time you realize the truth, she’ll be gone, and you’ll have nothing but the ghost of her.”
”Get out,” Damien growled, his golden eyes flickering dangerously in the low light.
Alexander stood, giving him a look of pure disgust before walking away. Damien didn’t follow. Instead, he signaled the bartender for another bottle. He was drowning in frustration, his mind a chaotic loop of Sofia’s words.
A woman approached him—a high-end escort with dark hair and a predatory smile. She draped herself over his shoulder, her perfume cloying. “You look like a man who needs a distraction, Alpha.”
Damien looked at her, his vision slightly blurred by the whiskey. “How much for the night?”
”For you? Five thousand,” she purred.
”I’ll double it,” Damien barked, standing up with a stumble. “But you do exactly what I say. No talking. Just move.”
He led her back to the suite. In the bedroom, Sofia was still chained to the bed, her wrists aching from the metal. She heard the heavy thud of the suite door and her heart leapt, thinking Damien had come back to release her. But then she heard a woman’s giggle.
The sound of a belt hitting the floor echoed through the living room, followed by the rustle of clothes. Sofia squeezed her eyes shut, her chest tightening as the first moans reached her ears. Damien was right behind the door, intentionally making sure she heard every sound.
In the living room, Damien pushed the girl against the velvet couch. She was skilled, her hands moving with practiced ease as she knelt before him. She unzipped his slacks and took him into her mouth, sucking him with a rhythmic intensity that should have sent him over the edge. But as he looked down at her dark hair, all he could think about was the way Sofia’s inexperienced, trembling lips had felt on his cock. This girl was a pro, but she wasn’t her.
”Turn around,” Damien commanded, his voice thick with a mix of lust and misplaced rage.
The girl obeyed, bending over the back of the couch. As Damien rolled on a condom and entered her from behind, his hands gripped her full, rounded ass. For a fleeting second, the size of her hips reminded him of Sofia’s voluptuous frame, and he increased his pace, his stomach slapping against her skin in a brutal, relentless rhythm.
Thwack. Thwack. Thwack.
The sound of his stomach slapping against her rear echoed through the suite, carrying through the door to Sofia’s ears. She squeezed her eyes shut, her chest heaving with silent, broken sobs. Every moan from the other room felt like a physical lash against her skin.
He changed styles, flipping the girl over to her back and hoisting her legs onto his shoulders, thrusting deep. He wanted to feel something—anything—that wasn’t the hollow ache in his chest. He watched her breasts sway, but they weren’t the heavy, dark-nippled breasts he had tasted earlier.
Nothing felt right. The friction was there, the heat was there, but the connection was absent. Every time the girl moaned his name, it grated on his nerves. He wanted to hear Sofia’s muffled whimpers. He wanted the woman currently chained in the other room.
With a guttural groan of disgust, Damien pulled out abruptly before he could reach his peak. He stripped off the condom and tossed it aside, his chest heaving as he stared at the woman who was looking at him in confusion.
”Get out,” he snapped, reaching for his wallet and tossing a stack of bills onto the floor.
”But Alpha, we aren’t finished—”
“I said get out!” he roared.
The girl scrambled to gather her things and fled the suite. Damien stood in the center of the room, his head hanging low, the silence of the suite now even more suffocating than the moans. He turned his gaze toward the bedroom door, his hand trembling as he reached for the handle.
He pushed the door open.
The room was dim, lit only by the golden glow of the city lights filtering through the curtains. Sofia was exactly where he had left her—chained to the mahogany posts. Her face was turned away from him, but the way her ample chest rose and fell in jagged heaves told him she had heard everything.
Damien didn’t say a word. He walked to the edge of the bed, the smell of the other woman still clinging to him, an intentional insult he now regretted.
Sofia slowly turned her head. Her sea-blue eyes were bloodshot, her chubby cheeks stained with dried tears, but the look she gave him wasn’t one of defeat. It was a jagged, glass-sharp smile.
”Finished already?” she whispered, her voice a raspy, bitter edge. “I expected more from a Great Alpha. Or did you find that even with a ’professional,’ you couldn’t quite perform with a guilty conscience?”
Damien’s jaw tightened, his fingers curling into fists. “Shut up, Sofia.”
”What’s the matter, Damien? Did she not moan loud enough?” she mocked, her full hips shifting defiantly against the silk, causing the chains to rattle with a sharp, rhythmic clink. “Did you have to close your eyes and pretend she was someone else? Someone who doesn’t look at you with the disgust you deserve?”
”I said, shut up,” he growled, stepping closer, his presence looming over her like a thundercloud.
”You are a monster, Damien… a beast… I hate you!”
The fuse snapped.
With a guttural roar, Damien lunged onto the bed, his weight pinning her body deep into the mattress. He grabbed her face with one hand, his thumb digging into her soft jaw, forcing her to look into the golden fire of his eyes.
”Don’t provoke me, Sofia,” he warned.
Sofia glared at him. “And if I do, what will you do, monster?” She spat in his face, her saliva sliding across his cheek.
Damien didn’t respond with words. He crashed his lips against hers in a kiss that tasted of whiskey, salt, and raw, possessive desperation. It wasn’t the practiced, hollow kiss of the escort; it was a collision of two souls who hated each other as much as they craved each other.
Sofia let out a muffled scream into his mouth, her bound hands tugging fruitlessly at the chains. But as his tongue invaded her mouth and his hand slid down to grip her heavy, bare breast, her body betrayed her. Her thighs fell open, seeking the heat of him despite the rage in her mind.
Damien pulled back just enough to look at her, his teeth bared. “You think I’m a monster, Sofia? Fine. Let’s see how much you hate the monster when he’s inside you.”
He didn’t reach for a condom. He moved his hand down, his fingers finding her wet and ready despite her anger. He unzipped his slacks, his eyes never leaving hers, and with one heavy, agonizingly slow thrust, he buried himself deep within her.
Sofia’s head hit the headboard, a sharp gasp escaping her lips as her hips arched upward to meet him. The chains snapped taut, the metal groaning as she gripped them for leverage.
Damien began to move, a relentless rhythm that drove the air from her lungs. He watched her face—the way her eyes fluttered shut, the way her breasts swayed with every impact of his chest against hers.
He leaned down, his chest crushing her breasts, and captured one dark, swollen nipple in his mouth. He sucked hard, his tongue swirling around the peak with a punishing hunger, while his hand slid between their joined bodies to find her clitoris.
Sofia let out a broken, high-pitched keening sound. Her full hips bucked upward, her internal muscles clenching around him in a desperate, instinctive rhythm. Even as she hated him, her body was singing under his touch. Damien’s thumb pleasure her relentlessly, his pace increasing until the sound of their bodies colliding was the only thing filling the room.
“Look at me,” Damien growled, his voice a guttural vibration.
Sofia opened her eyes, her sea-blue gaze hazy with a mixture of agony and undeniable pleasure. She watched him as he drove into her, his golden eyes burning with a possessive fire that seemed to consume them both. Every thrust was deeper, more meaningful than the hollow movements he’d shared with the woman in the other room. This was raw; this was real.
Suddenly, he felt the familiar, mounting tension in his loins; he knew he was about to cum.
”Damien… please,” she gasped, her head thrashing against the pillow, the chains rattling violently as she neared her own peak.
He didn’t pull away. He couldn’t. With a final, soul-deep thrust that buried him to the hilt against her rounded thighs, Damien roared her name. He gripped her waist, his fingers bruising her skin, and released everything inside her.
He felt the hot pulse of his seed filling her. Sofia’s body shuddered around him, her own release crashing over her in waves that left her sobbing and breathless.
For a long minute, the only sound was their ragged breathing and the fading clink of the metal chains. Damien remained buried inside her, his forehead resting against hers, the scent of sex thick in the air. The whiskey fog was clearing, replaced by a cold, sharp reality.
Then and there, he realized that whatever he felt for Sofia had gone beyond hate… it had gone beyond slave and master.
