“Can’t it wait? I have so many things to explore and experiment,” Janice said, planning to test the limits and applications of her enhanced curse senses. Right now, she was recording her thoughts so as not to forget any of her brilliant ideas. She could get up, explore one idea, and forget the others, so it was important for her to record all of her ideas. That way, when she was done with one, she wouldn’t have to struggle or waste time trying to recall the others.

“Are you sure? Because I can guarantee you that this will earn you twice as much as you did from the Sole Ring deal,” Ace vouched, to get Janice’s full attention. He knew her mind was overloaded with the endless possibilities of her newly enhanced curse senses in her daily life and curse crafting.

Janice turned sharply to lock eyes with Ace to see if he was serious about the numbers and asked, “How certain are you?”

“What I have is worth more, but the final outcome depends on you and your family.”

Ace didn’t dare to make any extra promises now that he had Janice’s undivided attention. Also, he was confident about his goods, but no one can be certain about the market.

“So, what did you just happen to find this time?” Janice asked Ace sarcastically, recalling how he’d tricked her and Delores into thinking that finding the Sole Ring near her resort was just a lucky coincidence. Now, they believed it wasn’t a coincidence, but they had no evidence. Not to mention, they made a lot from that deal despite the risks, so it was best for both that the bones remained buried. Nobody would gain anything from digging them up.

“Here, it’s all in this USB drive,” Ace said, passing a small black USB drive. It contained everything he had on the forgotten colony of Roanoak and the Roanoans. He did so because he trusted Janice and also because it would be much easier for her to assess the value of the product.

Ace eyed Elinor from the corner of his eyes as Janice took the USB drive from him, only to find her staring into the void while her irises glowed like custom LED headlights. In his shock, he asked, “What’s up with her?”

“She’s listening to the World’s Mysteries,” Dee3 answered while Delores sighed, “With her enhanced curse senses, her attainments in curse spells will grow to another level.”

Witnessing another generation of McSuile descendants outgrow her, Delores couldn’t help but sigh in helplessness. She had been stuck in Ocean-tier for a while now, while her master’s kids, whose diapers she used to change, were now in Sky or Void tier. Their children, too, were now achieving similar heights in their chosen field. Adding to this the fact that her master was missing, Delores was beginning to feel irrelevant in the McSuile empire that she helped build. Times like these reminded her that the new McSuile empire didn’t need an old-timer like her.

“How does one do that?” Ace asked Delores, curious about listening to the world’s mysteries, while Janice looked through the contents of the USB drive on her Cursepad.

“It’s like asking how one is capable of listening? You’re born with it, I guess,” Delores answered to the best of her knowledge, but also rolled her eyes at Ace, thinking, another one who thinks he’s special. Not that she underestimated Ace’s capabilities; it’s just that if you have to ask how one listens to the World’s Mysteries, then you don’t have what it takes to do so. It’s just that simple.

Every stereotype had a series of true incidents behind it, and the stereotype about the Curse Casters did too. It all started with Curse Masters who could listen to the World’s Mysteries but had no idea what it was. The rest believed they had gone insane from their curse core awakening ceremony until they began to show the miracles and disasters they were capable of by borrowing the powers of the World’s Mysteries.

Those shunned and wronged by society, having gained unfathomable power, usually tended to go too far trying to hurt society like it did to them. The same was true in the case of the first of the curse casters, especially in the mortal world, where curse masters didn’t have enough experience when it came to the world’s mysteries.

“It’s more than that,” Dee3 corrected Delores and began to explain, “Just like one’s curse energy affinity, it is determined during the condensing of one’s curse core. For reasons still unknown, some people’s curse cores are able to tune in to the frequency of the world, allowing them to listen to its mysteries. “Is it true for the curse slaves too?” Ace asked out of curiosity, only to find Dee3 shake her head, informing, “As far as I know, there haven’t been any records of a curse slave being able to listen to the World’s Mysteries. But you cannot rule out the possibility, considering they are able to awaken some of the most powerful innate curse arts both worlds have seen. If there were such a case, I would like to meet and study them, because I believe they might be able to use the World’s Mysteries’ prowess to break their realm limitations. This is just an assumption of mine. But I strongly believe it’s a possibility.”
