“What happened? I thought you wanted an apology?” I asked Dee3 as she threw Ava out of her dungeon without getting the apology she sought from the latter.

“Thunder and Mitsy took pity on her and forgave her,” Dee3 answered, but seeing my puzzled expression she explained, “They think she is mentally challenged.”

It appeared, me mocking Ava’s intelligence saved her the embarrassment of apologizing to a bunch of cyborg animals whose intelligence I appeared to have overestimated. After all, what good was their super intelligence if they can’t catch sarcasm.

Shaking my head, I switched the topic to the matter of why I was here and in a rush, “Now can we talk shop?”

“Sure thing, as long as you ask anything but information about my source on curse caster’s core or tool,” Dee3 nodded, directly lying on the floor of the dungeon while Thunder crawled up beside her.

If it were some other time, I would have mocked Dee3, calling her a hippie and what not but today, I too laid down next to her. The floor was cleaner than the plates in Pam’s kitchen. So, it was easier for me to do so. Turning my head sideways and looking at Dee3’s beautiful face that was staring at the ceiling, I began, “I want you to access the C.I.B.’s systems to find Agent Marcus and all the files on him.”

“Can’t you do that yourself? Why do you need me for that?” Dee3 asked, turning her head sideways to lock her eyes with mine.

“Not at present. That is why I need your help,” I said without going into details about why I can’t do it or why I needed Agent Marcus’s current whereabouts and up-to-date files.

“Sure thing,” Dee3 agreed without giving it much thought because she trusted the boy and all he was asking for was an agent’s dossier. She had accessed the C.I.B.’s system for much less. She didn’t mind doing such a simple favor for a good friend.

Listening to Dee3 agree, I finally felt a sense of peace as I watched her access her personal supercomputer that she can remotely access anywhere in her dungeon or through one of her cyborg animals. However, before my heart could settle down, I heard Dee3 curse, “Shit!”

It caught me by surprise because it was hard to catch Dee3 cussing. If she were, then something serious bad had transpired. Therefore, I couldn’t help but ask her in concern, “What’s wrong?”

“Who is this Agent Marcus? Just typing in his name tripped all the alarms of the system. If not for my strong firewalls along with curse array formation covering the estate, they would have already triangulated our location,” Dee3 answered as she continued to get into the C.I.B.’s system without being traced.

“He is one of the Sky-tier agents who arrived as reinforcement earlier,” I answered as my brows once again narrowed into a deep frown, realizing that I was already late. The information about Marcus possessing a curse caster’s innate curse tool had reached the ears of all those that cared.

“The bald one?” Dee3 asked while still continuing her struggle online trying to get the dossier on Agent Marcus not just because she had promised her friend, but because all this secrecy around him made her curious.

“Yes, the one with dangerously receding hairline, at the edge of joining the bald club,” I said, noting that Dee3 was critical of one’s physical features. It was surprising, but I guess she was human after all. Also, it was easier to describe one with their physical traits.

“Joining the bald club? He’s already a member and could run to be president of the club,” Dee3 said, yet her attention remained focused on acquiring Agent Marcus’s latest dossier while making a clean break, without leaving behind any trace that could lead the C.I.B.’s cyber hound right to their doors.

“I don’t know. I think with a different hairstyle he could still avoid being enlisted in the bald club,” I argued, not just because I honestly thought so but also to keep Dee3 engaged. My conversation with her was having a similar effect as white noise in the background. Helping her concentrate harder.

“Oh, please. One visit from the wind and his roof will fly away. Then everyone will agree with me, that not only is he a member of the bald club but could be the president… got it!” Dee3 disagreed, but midway through the sentence she jumped to her feet like a skilled acrobat exclaiming that she succeeded in getting her hands on the information I asked for.

“Great, share it on my curse phone,” I said eagerly getting back on my feet. Hoping that Marcus was being kept somewhere close and with less security, which was unlikely considering the systems blared just typing in his name. At the least, the guards chosen shouldn’t be someone troublesome like the Crimson Eyes or even a Void-tier curse user.

A void-tier guard seemed like an overkill, but it was a possibility considering the lengths C.I.B. had gone through to keep any and all information on Agent Marcus’s current whereabouts a secret. Even Dee3 had to put in real effort to get this information, so it was clear that C.I.B. had pulled all the stops.

Such a fast and efficient response from a government organization was unheard of, even if it was the C.I.B. unless the president or someone of almost the same level of importance was involved.

Something told me that our president wasn’t short of a curse caster’s innate curse tool, then that someone had to be the Wisemen. It’s not like our country can’t use an extra curse caster’s innate curse tool, but we had a strong trade treaty with the entities from the ’World of Curses’ like the Curse Council, the Monarch, etc.

Meaning, we can ultimately choose to keep the curse caster’s innate curse tool, but we have to at least facilitate a trade talk with the parties involved and these entities, then whatever happens, happens. Neither side can complain.

Usually, the conditions offered by these entities were too good to pass on. So, these trade talks with these powerful entities from the ’World of Curses’ were not only encouraged by the country and looked forward to. But, there was also the matter of the product being to the liking of these entities. After all, they were known to be very picky. The fact that the product was a curse caster’s innate curse tool only brought them to our doors. If it managed to tickle their interest, then our country’s curse community would undergo another round of rapid development and Agent Marcus would join the ranks of the mortal world’s hidden trillionaires.

Despite understanding what this curse caster’s innate curse tool signified for the country, it’s curse community, and Agent Marcus, I still continued with my original plans. As much as I loved my country, I loved my family more. As far as the curse community was concerned I didn’t need to think twice to screw them over. Only pity was Agent Marcus, he would have to settle for being a multi billionaire instead of a trillionaire.
