They didn’t get any choice about five minutes later when I erected a massive wall of ice around the property to keep them out. Finally getting some peace and quiet I got to work blending the bone material of the skull into the walls and ceiling of my workshop. For extra safety I even treated the whole thing like a weapon and gave it the [durandal] property. Thanks to this I could say with firm satisfaction that my workshop was nigh impenetrable now. Even after that though a good half the skull still existed.-
That was after considering the amount it shrank from refinement to boot. I didn’t bother getting fancy with it and simply turned it into a house sized block and stuffed it into the far side of my newly renovated and expanded workshop. The original workshop was more or less just the foundation as I added more material to make it bigger and sturdier. Naturally I had to show off a little and had the entire outside walls covered in realistic depictions of all the monsters I’ve slain up to now. Those familiar with my statues would easily recognize the similarities as a result.-
The leg bones were also refined and fused with the leftover skull material making a huge block of bone material taking up a solid quarter of my workshop now. The hide was thankfully much easier to store as once refined I just rolled it up and put it next to the bone block, barely took any room at all relatively speaking. As I said before though the Knuckelavee’s materials I could refine and store in my previous workshop. The poison was jarred carefully, the blades and bones refined and turned into ingots. –
The flesh, organs and blood were sectioned up and ready for Miach. The stones of both the Knuckelavee and giant were the most annoying however as they were ridiculously powerful. My current conversion devices simply worked too fucking slow on them. That didn’t even begin to cover the giants stone that was the size of a fucking house that not only had a massive amount of energy in it but was also too big to be converted by the devices. I certainly wasn’t going to do it manually as that was more than enough mana to cause me to explode from the attempt.-
In the end I had to create a couple of new devices that just bled off the mana into the atmosphere without converting it to cursed energy. As a positive note of this the mana concentration of the property was sky high making those that used the stuff recover from training faster than normal. The plants in the garden were frankly thrilled about it too as they grew brighter and more vibrant. Naturally the mana density in the air would slowly leave through the hole in the barrier but it would take years at least with so much.-
With the stones now bled of all their mana I now had to fill them with cursed energy. This was going to be a slow process to be honest as I just didn’t have nearly enough in my own internal reservoir to do it at once. For the Knuckelavee it wasn’t so bad since my full amount filled it a quarter of the way but for the giants stone my full amount was at most a single percent of the total needed. I could only sigh about it and steel myself to drinking several mana potions to fill both stones up in a few days.-
My current regeneration of cursed energy was about four to five times a day without potions and ten to twelve with them. I filled the Knuckelavee stone by the end of the day but the next ten days after that I felt absolutely wrung out and almost spiritually sore from the potion abuse. Finally though the giants stone was done and I could move on to the actual fun part of all this, crafting. Admittedly I didn’t actually need the stones at the moment but I’d rather have them ready and not need them than not ready when I did.-
Anyways I stripped off an inch thick plate of the giants bone and with a shake of my hand shaped it into the familiar coffin shape that my previous healing coffin had. I sought out Cassandra to once again use her healing magic as I worked to imbue the new coffin with as much healing and regenerative ability as I could even stuffing RCT positive energy in there. When I was finally done the coffin literally glowed a bright white color and had such a potent healing ability that I had to store it on a special stone floor because it made killing any weeds near it impossible.-
To really test it I beat Bell within an inch of his life in a spar before tossing him in the coffin and waiting. It worked great as he was hale and hearty not more than fifteen minutes later. I was almost tempted to use the thing at that point to improve the endurance stats of the others but Hestia told me no. Apparently traumatizing your familia in the name of progress was unacceptable, sigh. Ethically dubious stat grinding methods aside the new healing coffin was a great boon to us.-
I got to work on my next project after that in the form of the Knuckelavee weapon. It took me a bit to hammer out what exactly I wanted and from that the best way to handle the creation. I chose in the end to make a sort of set instead of a single thing as it simply fit the best. First I took some of the giant hide and shaped it into a single plain glove that I then with great effort coated the finger tips in thin draconite. I then stuffed on durability properties and poison resistance in particular. –
Finally I got to the real meat of the set and took some of the bone material of the Knuckelavee and shaped it into a small rectangular form that was hollow inside. I then got to work on a set of ten senbon or combat needles out of the beasts blade. I specifically made sure to focus all my attention on making these needles not only carry and generate the beasts own toxin but fused in other toxic monster parts to make it even MORE toxic. I then created a technique on the box and needles so that the needles would always teleport back into the box once the last one struck anything.
