Future progress

Luckily when I arrived at my base I found no sign of anyone having been there which was a relief. With that covered I took out the dude from my bag and put him in the corner to wait until I got back. I closed the “door” to the base and sprinted through the forest back towards the entrance to this floor so I could head back up to the Goliaths room. I couldn’t be bothered about the odd looks I received when I ran past the adventurers at the entrance and up the slope to the monster rex floor.-

The monster itself was wandering about the huge chamber that was the floor since monsters didn’t just vanish if you left their area. After I triggered the monster rex into appearing it pretty much locked everyone too weak to kill it from coming through that floor until someone who could came along. Lucky them then that I had very much planned to kill the beast rather than leaving it to be someone elses problem. “RAAAAAAAAA!” the monster rex roared when it laid eyes upon me as I stepped on it’s floor.-

I drew my weapon and held it so the sharp edge was at the ready before dashing forwards at the rex. It threw a wide punch at me as I got near that i used to run up it’s arm as I created a thin edge of erasure using RCT on my weapon. The beast got no chance to try and stop me as my weapon erased all matter in front of it’s edge as I swung it through the neck in one fluid motion. The body flailed about as the head rolled off since even decapitation wasn’t enough to kill this monster rex due to it’s innate regenerative and intense vitality.-

Without a head though the body couldn’t coordinate where to strike and thus flailed recklessly. I ignored that as I refined the bones and hide slightly before slicing open the torso with an erasure edge and sheathing my weapon so I could get my hands around the mana crystal. With a jerky pull the beast burst into smoke that got absorbed into my tattoos as the stone was ripped out whole. It was roughly the size of a basketball just like the previous one I obtained that even now was sitting in one of my cursed stone converters slowly being drained of all mana.-

In order to use the fucking thing to hold the cursed energy above the city it needed to be empty and that took a while with the outdated converters I currently used. This new stone would also be used for that purpose once I got it emptied of mana. I wouldn’t really have much choice in the matter to be honest as there was just too much cursed energy above the city for a single goliath stone to handle even if it was merely a focal point for the formation.-

I doubted even the addition of this new stone would be enough to handle all that energy. With that in mind I planned to collect at least two more such stones so the burden was spread between all four of the stones and if the energy rate wasn’t too much that should prove good enough. Still I collected my spoils even as people started to show up and look at me in a mix of emotions. Greed, lust, respect, amazement and shock were all amongst their faces but I ignored them as I packed away my loot.-

No one got in my way as I walked towards the path heading back down to floor eighteen and respectfully parted to allow me to pass. I had little doubt that rumors about me soloing the goliath would rapidly start to get around but I didn’t mind as if anything this would only serve to make me more important in the cities eyes. It would also work to tell everyone that none below level four had any chance of beating me. Even though I myself was not a level four I would probably start being treated as one as in the end all anyone cared about was power and if I matched a level four I was one in their eyes.-

The funny part in my opinion was that I hadn’t even gotten a single update to my falna since I leveled up to three and my power hadn’t grown since then so much as my variety of power due to my acquisition of RCT. Oh I knew without a doubt that when I did get my update though my stats were going to take a massive leap forward as I had the smoke from no less than seven level four monsters with one being this goliath.-

That didn’t even begin to cover the insanity of RCT no doubt showing up on my status along with the experiences I’ve had since leveling up. I had a gut feeling that [Cursebody] and [Curse-smith] were already ready to reach the next letter grade as well so the update to my falna was bound to be a doozy. The trick was going to be convincing Hestia to update me at all as she will get a taste of what I myself experienced during this time and the longer she waits the worse it’ll be.-

Thankfully she won’t have to deal with any of the backlash from my [Vessel of sin] skill as I have not killed anyone considered innocent by it. Admittedly I was a little traumatized by the war games backlash as well since she only got a small glance of it while I got ALL of it. Anyways I made sure to lose the few people trying to follow me in the sea of trees before I headed back to my base. The Evilus assassin glared at me hatefully when I walked in but I ignored that as I set my bags to the side.-

“You want to know why I killed the other two and left you alive as my test subject?” I asked the dude with a smirk as I took off my helm/mask. “It’s because of one of my skills you see. [Vessel of sin] it’s a skill that lets me get some benefits in exchange for some equal downsides but one such benefit is the ability to see souls and how sinful they are.” I explained not expecting an answer. He shuddered and my smirk grew wider as it became clear to him what the information I told him implied for the Evilus.
