Chapter 103: The Red Dragon Emperor Reappears
Chapter 103: Chapter 103: The Red Dragon Emperor Reappears
The void between dimensions was not a place of silence, but a screaming expanse of raw, unformed energy. It was a graveyard of failed realities and a nursery for monsters too large to inhabit a single world. Deep within this abyss, seated upon a throne carved from the calcified hearts of dying suns, sat the Red Dragon Emperor.
His physical form was an impossibility in the Eternal Sky Realm; his very presence would have caused the laws of physics in Eternia to shatter like glass.
He was a being of “Concepts” as much as flesh, a sovereign of a galaxy where fire was the only law. His eyes, each the size of a tectonic plate, blinked as he felt the final connection to the Red Dragon Spire in the Eternal Sky Realm snap.
He did not roar in anger. Anger was a mortal emotion. He felt only a clinical, cold irritation. One of his many fingers in the universe had been pricked.
”The ant has grown a wing,” the Emperor rumbled. His voice did not travel through air; it vibrated through the fabric of space-time, crossing the World Barriers through a forbidden channel of resonance he had maintained for millennia.
—
Far away, across the shimmering veil of dimensions, Holy Emperor Kael fell to his knees in the center of the Golden Cathedral. The marble floor beneath him cracked as the pressure of the Red Dragon’s voice descended upon his mind.
”My Lord,” Kael gasped, his eyes bleeding gold. “The Sea God… he has taken the Tower. He has unified the Southern and Western reaches. He is rewriting the gravity of the realm.”
”I know what he is doing, Kael,” the Red Dragon Emperor’s voice echoed in the Holy Emperor’s skull. “He is attempting the Grand Unification. He seeks to unify the fragments into a Whole World.”
Kael trembled. “Is that not what the ancient prophecies foretold? The return of the World-Continent?”
”The prophecies were a warning, you fool,” the Emperor hissed, and the Holy Emperor’s shadow began to smoke and char against the cathedral wall.
“Listen closely. The Eternal Sky Realm is currently a ’Sub-Reality.’ It is a fragment, a broken nursery. Because it is fragmented, it is shielded from the true scale of the Multiverse. It is a pond where small fish like you can play at being gods.”
The Red Dragon Emperor leaned forward on his throne, his scales shimmering with a terrifying, inter-dimensional light.
“But if that ant, Aegis, manages to make the world whole… the barriers will dissolve. The Eternal Sky Realm will transition from a sub-reality into a ’Prime World.’ It will be officially integrated into the Conqueror’s System.”
”The Conqueror’s System?” Kael whispered.
”The arena of the Great Powers,” the Red Dragon replied. “Once a world becomes whole, it gains the capacity to compete with other Prime Worlds. It grows. It evolves. It produces Emperors who can cross the Void and challenge Me. But I will not allow another competitor to rise from that stagnant pond. I will not see a new Prime World born on my doorstep.”
The Emperor’s gaze pierced through the dimensions, focusing on the violet glow of the Frost-Tide Empire. “The Sea God’s Heir must be punished. He carries the same stubborn spark as his master. The one who taught him the Water laws… the one rebelled against my wishes eons ago. Aegis is the ghost of that old grudge, and I want him erased.”
”What are your commands, My Lord?” Kael asked, his voice filled with a fanatical, terrified light.
”You will prepare the Final Crusade,” the Red Dragon Emperor commanded. “I am bypassing the System’s constraints to send you a Gift. It is a spark of my True Essence. You will use it to power the Solar Aegis. Do not merely fight him, Kael. Annihilate the very concept of his Island. Turn his ’Whole World’ into a cinder before the first stitch is complete.”
—
While the divine command echoed in the East, the Frost-Tide Empire was not idle. Within the 50x time-dilation, Aegis had spent the equivalent of another three months consolidating the Red Dragon Tower’s resources. The volcanic heat had been piped through the glacial regions of Iceland, creating a sprawling, temperate megalopolis where the population now exceeded ten million.
However, the “Planetary Gravity” trait had created an unintended consequence. The Empire was no longer just attracting islands; it was attracting the attention of every apex predator in the sky.
On the neutral floating continent of Gaea’s Heart, a secret meeting was taking place.
Gaia, the Giant God’s heir, stood in a grove of ancient glowing oaks. Beside him stood Ann, the heir of Mountain God, his face pale and drawn.
Across from them sat the High Warlord Threx of the Iron Sky Union, his mechanical limbs whirring with agitation.
”Aegis is a monster,” Threx spat, slamming a metal fist into a tree trunk. “He didn’t just take the Tower. He integrated it. My scouts say his soldiers are now equipped with ’Resonance-Steel.’ They are centuries ahead of us in tech because of that damned time field.”
”Aegis is destroying the balance,” Gaia said, her voice like the rustle of dry leaves. “The islands were meant to drift. They were meant to be separate, each with its own spirit, its own ecosystem. By stitching them together, he is strangling the life-force of the realm. The earth is screaming, Threx.”
Ann looked toward the violet horizon. “The Holy Emperor has sent word. He is calling for a Final Crusade. He says he has been granted a power from beyond the World Barriers. He wants us to join him.”
”Join the Holy Empire?” Threx scoffed. “Kael is a fanatic. He’d burn us all to ’save’ us.”
Ann countered,
”And Aegis will drown us all to ’unify’ us. Between a fire that burns and a tide that consumes, we must choose the fire. At least the Holy Empire leaves the islands as they are.”
Gaia nodded slowly. “We cannot allow the World-Continent to form. If the World becomes whole, The Sea God and Abyssal might get resurrected. If that happens, we,.ther other heirs will lose our identity. We could also lose our connection to the system.”
”Then it’s settled,” Threx said, a grim smile touching his lips. “The Iron Sky Union, the Emerald Isles, and the Holy Empire. A Triple Alliance. We strike at the heart of the Frost-Tide.”
—
Back in the Frost-Tide Citadel, Aegis sat in the silence of his private meditation chamber. The God-Killer Trident lay across his knees, its red glow pulsing in rhythm with his heartbeat. Through the “Prayer of the Sea” trait, he could feel the shift in the world. He could feel the gathering of mana in the East.
It was a light so bright and artificial that it made his skin crawl.
”They are coming,” a voice said.
Aegis didn’t open his eyes. He knew the frost-tinted mana of the woman who had just entered.
“I know, Bella. The Triple Alliance. It’s the logical conclusion for them. Fear is a powerful unifier.”
Bella stepped forward, “It’s more than fear, Aegis. I felt a ripple in the World Barrier an hour ago. Something crossed over. Something old, and very, very hot.”
Aegis finally opened his eyes. They were no longer just blue; they were a swirling vortex of Abyssal black and golden divinity.
“The Red Dragon Emperor. He can’t enter personally, but he’s sending his ’Will.’ He wants to stop the Unification before the Conqueror’s System notices us.”
”He’s afraid,” Bella noted, a sharp smile touching her lips.
”No. He’s cautious,” Aegis corrected. “He knows that if Eternia becomes a Prime World, I will have the right to challenge the Sovereigns of other dimensions. He wants to keep us as a ’Sub-Reality’, a farm for his cultists and a playground for his whims.”
Aegis stood up, the Trident humming with a violent intensity.
“He thinks of me as an ant. He thinks of my
the Sea God’s teachings as a failed legacy. He wants to punish the ’Heir’ for the ’sins’ of the teacher.”
He walked to the balcony, looking out over his vast, thriving world. The 50x dilation had allowed them to build a civilization that shouldn’t exist for another thousand years. He saw children playing in parks where snow and tropical flowers coexisted. He saw soldiers training with weapons that could cleave mountains.
”Felix!” Aegis called out.
Felix appeared in the doorway, looking more like exactly like the High Chancellor he was. “My Lord?”
”The Final Crusade is being mobilized. The Holy Emperor is the conduit. Threx and Gaia are providing the flanking force. They will try to hit us before we reach Stage 13.”
”What are your orders?”
”We don’t wait for them,” Aegis said, his voice dropping to a register that made the sea below the Citadel churn in a massive whirlpool.
“If they want a crusade, we will give them an Apocalypse. We are moving the entire Frost-Tide Empire. We are heading directly for the Golden Cathedral.”
Felix blinked. “Moving the whole Continent? That will put an incredible strain on the Atlas Chains.”
”Then reinforce them with the souls of the Red Crusaders we captured,” Aegis said coldly. “We are no longer playing at defense. If the Red Dragon Emperor wants to see what an ’ant’ can do, I will show him. I will use the Holy Empire as the final piece of the puzzle. I will stitch his Golden Cathedral into my sea, and I will use the Emperor’s own ’Essence’ to jumpstart the Prime World transition.”
The order was given.
Inside the 50x field, the citizens of the Frost-Tide Empire felt a sudden, massive lurch. The sky above them turned from violet to a deep, bruising indigo.
The massive “Planetary Gravity” of the Empire was redirected. Instead of pulling small islands, the Empire began to pull itself through the sky toward the East.
It was a sight that would be recorded in the history books of a thousand worlds. A continent, millions of square meters of ice, volcano, and ocean, charging through the atmosphere like a juggernaut.
The wake created by its movement was a category-6 hurricane that flattened every minor floating rock in its path. The mana-pressure alone caused the weaker Skylords to fall unconscious.
In the Golden Cathedral, Kael looked at the horizon and saw the darkness coming. A wall of clouds, lightning, and sea-spray that stretched from the top of the stratosphere to the bottom of the abyss.
”He’s coming for us. And he isn’t even trying to hide it,” Kael whispered, clutching the Solar Relic.
The Solar Relic was a glowing, pulsing heart of dragon-fire sent by the Red Dragom Emperor.
”Then let him come,” a voice boomed from the relic, the Red Dragon’s influence manifesting as a projection of fire in the center of the hall.
“Prepare the Solar Aegis. Focus all the light of the Sky Realm into a single point. When he is within range, fire. Let us see if his ’Ocean’ master taught him how to survive the literal heart of a sun.”
The Triple Alliance began to move. Threx’s Iron Sky fleet took the left flank, thousands of mechanical dreadnoughts humming with electricity. Gaia and Ann took the right, riding massive, ancient sky-whales and spirits of the wind.
At the center, the Holy Empire glowed with a sterile, blinding white light, the Solar Aegis beginning to charge with a power that exceeded the System’s safety limits.
The stage was set for the Final Crusade. The ant against the Emperors. The Heir against the Ghost of the Void.
Deep within the Frost-Tide Citadel, Aegis gripped his trident, his eyes fixed on the golden light in the distance.
”Old men,” he whispered into the dark. “Watch me. I’m going to finish what you started. I’m going to make this world whole, and then… I’m coming for the Dragon.”
