Chapter 51: Ch 51: Mastering The God Weapon
Chapter 51: Ch 51: Mastering The God Weapon
Felix had never thought his life would change so suddenly.
Only a day earlier, he had been hopping from island to island, haggling, thieving, and doing whatever it took to stay alive.
But now? Now he was flying at the head of an assault force.
Above him flew three blazing figures: Eterna, Flama, Diva. Their fiery wings painted the sky in crimson and gold.
Eterna flew at the center, her phoenix flames calm and controlled.
Flama darted playfully from side to side, leaving trails of fire behind her.
Diva followed slightly behind, her smaller wings flapping with determination.
Felix rode atop his peacock mount, gripping the reins tightly as the wind brushed past his face.
“This still feels like a dream…” he murmured in a barely audible voice.
Yet Flama heard it. She tilted her head mid-flight and looked down at him.
“Brother Felix,” she called sweetly, “Are you somehow scared?”
“Ahem!” Felix coughed awkwardly.
“I- I’m not scared.” he said boldly.
But upon feeling the gazes of three sisters, he sighed,
“Okay, maybe a little. Any sane human would be.”
Eterna’s expression was far more mature than her age suggested.
“Papa said courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s moving forward even when you’re afraid.”
Felix’s heart shook for a moment.
“You girls really call him Papa, huh?”
Diva beamed, “Of course! Papa saved us. Papa protects us. Papa is Papa.”
Flama nodded enthusiastically, “And Papa trusts you, Brother Felix! That means you’re in the family.”
Family?
The word hit Felix harder than any battlefield ever could.
He swallowed, then forced a smile.
“Alright. Then I’ll do my best not to embarrass myself in front of my little sisters.”
The first neighboring island came into view.
It was medium-sized, covered in rocky terrain and sparse vegetation. At its center stood a crude fortress made of stone and iron.
As the shadow of phoenix wings fell over the land, alarm bells rang non-stop. Soldiers were already seen scrambling.
As the head of this charge, Felix spoke first:
“Skylord of this island! This is your only warning. Lay down your arms and surrender immediately!”
He shouted by channeling every ounce of confidence he had.
After moment of silence, laughter echoed.
“Hahaha.”
From atop the fortress walls, a broad-shouldered man stepped forward with a Greatsword resting on his shoulder.
“Surrender? Who the fuck are you supposed to be?” the man scoffed arrogantly.
Felix took a deep breath, saying clearly:
“I am Felix Maxwell, Envoy of the Sea God— The one and only Lord of Aquabyss.”
“AHahaha,” The laughter intensified.
“The Sea God?” one soldier mocked.
“We never heard of him. But it sounds like some kind of delusional freak.”
Felix’s expression turned cold.
“I advise you to choose your next words carefully.”
The first man sneered, “Or what? You’ll cry to your master, lackey?”
Felix forced himself to stay calm.
“Yes, I am the Sea God’s lackey. And this is your final chance. Surrender. Now.”
For a brief second, the Skylord hesitated.
However, it quickly tranformed to savagery.
“Kill them!”
That was all it took to ignite the war.
“Brother Felix, move back!” Eterna commanded.
The sky ignited as the phoenix sisters descended like Infernos.
Flama attacked first.
“Fwooosh!”
Her wings flared wide as she unleashed a torrent of blazing fire.
The fortress walls glowed red-hot, then collapsed like melting wax.
Diva’s flamed targeted the ballistae and archer towers with frightening accuracy.
Eterna’s was on a league of her own. She was the second most powerful person after Aegis.
He presence alone suppressed the battlefield.
“Buzz!”
With a single sweep of her wings, a wave of pressure crushed the defenders below, pinning them to the ground.
Felix punched his cheeks, stunned.
This wasn’t a battle supposed to be. They were just here to scout first, then call the army from Dune Desert.
But the Three Phoenixes powers were overwhelming, forcing the enemy soldiers to flee in panic.
Even the Beasts howled in fright. They scattered away like rats.
That Skylord tried to mount a Crow, only to be smashed into the earth by an overwhelming force. “Bam!”
Within minutes, all resistance crumbled.
“We surrender! Unconditionally!”
Only then Felix landed near the shattered gates, stepping forward as the survivors dropped to their knees.
“It didn’t have to be this way people. We could settle it far peacefully,” he said quietly.
No one replied. They were too busy shaking with fear.
They quickly added as followers as the Skylord annouced deafeat.
Their Island vanished, but they will given residence in Dune Desert.
For now, they will follow the Army to the next target.
After a while, the Water Swordsmen, Diamomd-Fist Barbarians and 200 Humans joined them too.
With this rising force added to the charge,
One island fell. Then another. And another.
Each time, Felix gave the same offer.
Each time, arrogance or defiance sealed the respective Skylords fate.
By the time the sun dipped toward the horizon, smoke rose from multiple conquered islands.
Their banners lowered and their Skylords either dead or kneeling.
Felix hovered beside the phoenix sisters, exhaustion finally catching up to him.
“Your Papa’s world is terrifying,” he muttered with a sigh.
Flama giggled, “But it’s safe.”
Diva nodded sheepishly, “Very safe.”
Eterna looked toward the distant horizon, where Aquabyss Domain lay unseen.
“Papa said this is necessary. And he is never wrong.”
Felix followed her gaze.
For the first time, he truly understood.
This wasn’t just simple conquest. This was just the beginning of an empire.
—
While Felix and his followers were busy conquering neighboring islands, Aegis chose a distant rogue island as his destination.
The island was mid-sized and completely unoccupied, filled with jagged rocks, cracked ground, and endless stretches of sand.
There was no life and structures to feel loss for.
It was a perfect place for a monster’s training
Here, Aegis devoted himself to mastering his newly acquired weapon:
The God-Killer Trident.
“Humm…!”
Even resting in his hand, the weapon felt dangerous. Not violent in a wild sense, but absolute, as if it rejected restraint by its very nature.
Every swing carried dual natured power. Every thrust distorted the surrounding space.
This was not a weapon meant for careless use.
If he failed to master it properly, it would not discriminate between enemies and allies
And thus, he trained.
Days passed.
Each practice strike reshaped the island.
Sand turned to scorched glass. Solid rocks melted like wax.
Massive craters bloomed across the land, overlapping one another like scars.
At times, the air itself got torn apart by the trident’s power.
If anyone had witnessed the scene, they would have been terrified beyond limit.
Uh, except for one unfortunate soul.
A small squirrel.
It had originally lived peacefully among the rocks, gathering seeds, basking under the sun.
Then Aegis arrived.
Now, the poor creature was running for its life.
BOOOOM!
From its behind, a crater formed.
“Chi chi chi…” The squirrel screeched in panic.
Its tail puffed up to twice its size, then sprinted across the sand with pure survival instinct.
But then Another swing followed. “Buzzz!”
Its shockwave flipped the ground ahead, launching the squirrel into the air like a ragdoll.
It landed, rolled, staggered back to its feet, and continued fleeing without even daring to look back.
Its tiny brain had reached one conclusion: this island was cursed.
From a distance, Aegis paused mid-motion.
He noticed the little creature’s frantic movement.
“Hmm??”
He lowered the trident slightly and watched the squirrel scramble over a rock, trip, and disappear into a crack in the ground.
Aegis gazed at it for a second, then lowered his weapon.
“Guess I’ll have to switch locations.”
Water rippled beneath his feet as he vanished, leaving behind a ruined island, countless craters, and one traumatized squirrel that would forever fear shiny sticks in human hands.
Far away, once again the Sea God’s Heir continued his training.
And with every passing day, the God-Killer Trident bent a little more to his will.
