Chapter 82: Ch 82: When the Mountain Opened Its Eyes
The camps of the Liberation Cult buzzed with a low, constant rhythm. Armor was repaired, weapons were reforged, and healers moved between tents with a quiet, practiced efficiency.
The army that had once looked like a gathering of desperate survivors had evolved into a living city that never truly slept, like a steel-and-stone monument to a single man’s will.
Aegis walked through the camp alone. He took no escort and carried no banners, yet his presence was a physical weight that made conversations soften and spines straighten as he passed by. Veterans nodded with a deep, silent respect. New recruits stared with wide eyes, their breaths hitching. Children of the liberated settlements stopped their playing to watch him, memorizing his shape as if he were a living myth walking among mortals.
He did not acknowledge the stares. His mind was elsewhere. The battlefield had changed again, shifting its fundamental resonance. He could feel it in the air and in the subtle, jagged distortion of mana flow beneath his boots.
The ground beneath him no longer felt like passive soil; it felt watchful.
Something big was coming.
That was when the scout arrived. The man was bloodied, his armor cracked in multiple places, and his boots caked with a dust so fine it looked like ash from a crematorium.
He dropped to one knee the moment his eyes met Aegis’s.
”Report,” Aegis said, his voice as calm as a frozen lake.
The scout swallowed hard, his throat clicking in the silence. “My Lord… we spotted it.”
Aegis stopped walking. “Spotted what?”
The scout hesitated, his hands trembling against the dirt. “A Titan Lord.”
“….”
The ripple of the news was instantaneous. Nearby soldiers froze mid-motion, and the ambient noise of the camp died as if someone had cut a throat. Bella appeared at Aegis’s side without a word, her eyes narrowing into cold slits.
”Size,” she asked.
The scout swallowed again, “At least 500 meters tall, my lady.”
Even the seasoned veterans inhaled sharply. “That’s not a Titan,” someone whispered from the crowd. “That’s a moving mountain.”
”Location,” Aegis said.
”Western Badlands,” the scout replied. “Near the collapsed fault zone. The ground… it’s moving around it. Like the earth itself is alive and screaming.”
Aegis nodded once. “Good work. Get to the healers.”
The scout hesitated, “My Lord… we lost half the team just getting close enough to see it.”
Aegis looked at him, his gaze heavy with a somber recognition. “Don’t worry. You will not lose them for nothing.”
The scout bowed deeply and staggered away. Bella turned to Aegis, her white hair catching the firelight. “You’re going,” she said. It was not a question.
”Yes.”
”Alone?”
”No,” he replied. “With you.”
A faint, dangerous smile touched her lips. “Good.”
The journey took less than an hour. Aegis and Bella moved faster than sound, skimming across the shattered terrain and fractured plateaus like streaks of light. The closer they got to the Western Badlands, the heavier the air became. Gravity began to thicken, pulling at their limbs. The ground vibrated constantly, like a low-frequency hum that suggested something gargantuan was breathing beneath the crust.
Then they saw it. The horizon didn’t just break; it shifted. What they had thought was a mountain range began to rise.
The Titan Lord emerged slowly and deliberately, as if the battlefield itself were giving birth to a nightmare.
It was 500 meters of coiled stone and necrotic flesh. Its body resembled a colossal earthworm, segmented and armored with layers of obsidian-like plates that sucked the light out of the sky. Massive horns curved from its head like demonic crowns, each one etched with ancient green runes that pulsed with a sickening light.
It was partially submerged in the land, its roots and tendrils burrowing deep into the crust, dragging entire hills along with its movement.
When it opened its eyes, the sky darkened.
[ Target Identified: Earth Titan Lord ]

[ Abilities: Absolute Earth Dominion, Titan Regeneration (Supreme), Gravitational Cataclysm ]
Bella exhaled slowly, her scepter glowing with a pale frost.
“So this is what they’ve been hiding in the deep,” she murmured.
Aegis did not speak. The Titan Lord turned, not randomly, but with a terrifying precision. It looked directly at him.
The ground rumbled. Then a shockwave of gravity erupted outward, flattening everything within a kilometer. Rock shattered into dust, and the very air bent under the pressure.
Aegis stepped forward, catching the wave head-on. The pressure slammed into him like a collapsing ocean, driving his boots several meters into the solid rock.
Bella raised her scepter instantly. “Ice Domain. Stabilize.”
A formation of absolute-zero frost spread outward, reinforcing the terrain and anchoring Aegis’s position against the crushing weight. The Titan Lord roared, a sound that was less a noise and more a vibration that threatened to liquefy internal organs.
Aegis launched himself forward. The God-Killer Trident appeared in his grasp, humming with a violent, blue energy. He struck. The trident pierced the Titan Lord’s outer armor, carving a deep, smoking trench along its segmented body.
“Boom!”
Stone exploded in every direction.
Then the wound closed. It didn’t heal; it simply ceased to exist, the stone flowing back into place instantly.
Aegis’s eyes narrowed. “This is ridiculous.”
The Titan Lord retaliated. Its massive body surged upward, segments contracting before launching a horn the size of a fortress downward. Aegis crossed his arms, taking the blow.
Booom!
The impact drove him into the earth like a fallen meteor, splitting the battlefield open for miles.
Bella’s eyes widened. “Arlan!”
He burst back out a second later, blood running down his forehead but his expression unchanged.
“That one had some weight to it,” he muttered.
The Titan Lord did not pause. Its body coiled, gravitational fields stacking atop each other until space itself began to warp visibly around it.
Bella attacked. “Ice Sovereignty. Shatter!” A spear of absolute zero slammed into the Titan Lord’s head, freezing an entire segment solid in a heartbeat.
The Titan Lord twisted, and the frozen section shattered into a million shards.
And then it regenerated.
Bella clicked her tongue in frustration. “Regeneration at this scale is obscene. Its as if we’re cutting water.”
Aegis moved again. He leapt, driving the trident into a joint between the armored segments and channeling compressed water pressure directly into the creature’s core. The pressure detonated, rupturing several segments and causing the Titan Lord to scream. Then the ground beneath Aegis simply ceased to be. A gravitational sinkhole formed, dragging him into the dark.
Aegis fell, and kept falling. The Titan Lord had dragged him into its own domain underground.
Bella reacted immediately, her eyes glowing green. “Life Chains!”
Instantly, Roots of luminous energy plunged into the earth, stabilizing the collapsing cavern.
”Aegis!”
He answered by punching upward. The earth exploded in a fountain of rock and dust.
Aegis emerged, breathing harder now, his cloak shredded.
“King Rank,” he muttered. “As expected.”
The Titan Lord loomed over him, completely unbroken, its wounds closing faster than he could inflict them.
For the first time since the war began, Aegis felt it: pressure. Not fear, but a genuine resistance from the world itself.
Bella landed beside him. “You can’t brute force this, Aegis. Not while it’s connected to the ley-lines.”
”I know,” Aegis replied.
The Titan Lord reared back, gathering energy for a strike that looked capable of ending the region. The battlefield trembled, and mountains in the distance began to collapse under the sheer pull of its mana.
Aegis closed his eyes and let out a long, slow breath.
”Sea God’s Crown – 2nd form,” he said softly.
The world answered. Water appeared from nowhere, not as a liquid, but as an authority. A vast, invisible ocean pressed down upon reality itself. The air shimmered blue, and the ground darkened as moisture condensed instantly into the stone.
At last, a spectral crown formed above Aegis’s head, forged from deep-sea light and ancient, crushing tides.
His presence changed. Bella staggered back, her eyes widening.
“Arlan… your aura…”
[ Authority Unsealed: Sea God’s Crown ]
[ Power Rank Temporarily Elevated: King ]
Aegis opened his eyes, and they glowed with the cold, crushing light of the abyss. The Titan Lord struck, its mountain-sized horn descending with enough force to crack the world. Aegis simply raised the trident.
The blow stopped. Five hundred meters of absolute mass halted mid-motion as if it had hit a wall of diamond.
Next, water pressure wrapped around the Titan Lord’s body like invisible unbreakable chains.
”You rule the earth. But the sea erodes all mountains.”
He moved. This time, the Titan Lord could not keep up. Aegis vanished and reappeared along its body, the trident carving precise, devastating paths. Each strike was reinforced by absolute authority, preventing the creature’s regeneration for a vital, split second.
That was all he needed. Segment after segment collapsed under the pressure. The Titan Lord roared in a true panic now, its gravitational fields destabilizing and flickering.
Bella joined the assault, her magic amplified by the heavy dampness Aegis had brought to the air. “Ice and Life. Dual Execution!” Colossal Ice Knights manifested, driving their frozen blades into the exposed wounds, poisoning the Titan’s recovery with surging, uncontrollable life energy.
Aegis soared upward, silhouetted against the darkened sun. He raised the God-Killer Trident with both hands.
“This ends now.”
The trident descended. The impact was silent for a heartbeat, and then the Titan Lord’s body imploded. It was compressed by oceanic pressure until even King Rank regeneration could not find a foothold.
Naturally, a Sky Crystal the size of a house burst free, glowing with a blinded light.
The Titan Lord collapsed.
