Chapter 121: The Continental War (9)
Up in the Void, the Glacial Sovereign slammed his fists against his primary console. His absolute zero crown flared with erratic magical feedback. He watched in absolute horror as the physical geometry of the server defied its own code.
“He’s shifting the grid!” the Sovereign barked through the localized alliance channel, his digital avatar glitching with panic. “Forgecaster, your Titan is submerged! Blood-Mage, pull the Abomination back—”
“I can’t!” the Rank 11 Blood-Mage screamed from his own Void terminal, frantically typing override commands that flashed red with systemic denial errors. “He built a hexagonal firewall out of the eastern ridge! The Abomination is boxed in, and it has absolutely no biomass to consume!”
The Rank 12 Zephyr Lord rapidly typed across his interface, tearing through the system logs to identify the anomaly. “What kind of artifact is he using? That isn’t a domain spell, it’s an administrative override! Was he hiding an S-Rank terrain trait this entire time?”
The Glacial Sovereign opened the server’s public registry to check Rubedo’s profile. The data loaded on his screen, and the magical frost generating across his armor instantly stopped. The Sovereign sat back in his ice-throne, staring blankly at the glowing golden text.
“He was hiding more than a trait,” the Sovereign whispered, a profound sense of dread draining the color from his digital avatar. “Look at his player card.”
The other three deities pulled up the profile. A collective, stunned silence fell over the alliance channel, broken only by the continuous warning alarms of their plummeting DP reserves. The familiar Rank 7 Ascendant Lord tag was completely gone.
The text now read: Entity Rubedo. Rank 11. Continental Architect.
“He jumped four tiers,” the Blood-Mage stammered, watching his console as his trapped Abomination began taking massive structural damage. “That takes a hundred million Divine Points! How is that mathematically possible?”
“He hoarded his milestones,” the Sovereign realized, the sheer scale of the psychological trap finally dawning on him. “He sandbagged his ascension for months just to bait us into his kill-zone. We aren’t fighting a mid-tier anomaly. We just walked into the meat-grinder of a continent-class powerhouse.”
Meanwhile, Red was focused on the Glacial behemoth. The towering mass of blue ice was currently stranded on the eastern banks, its absolute zero aura wildly trying to freeze the boiling Aegis water.
Unlike the other three creations, this was different. Red couldn’t drown it into a boiling river since it would just freeze the river. He couldn’t trap or explode it either.
A new cluster of pings flared on Red’s tactical overlay. The vassal gods’ armies of millions of armored centaurs, beast-tamers, and elemental infantry had finally crashed into the rear guard of the Sovereign’s frozen vanguard.
Up in their respective Void instances, the Rank 9 elemental twins and the Rank 10 war god synchronized their assault, desperately trying to annihilate the enemy before the gray static of the Void-Eater consumed their own troops.
“Ascendant Lord—no, Architect,” the Rank 10 war god transmitted directly to Red’s console, his voice tight with newfound reverence. “My heavy cavalry is engaging the Behemoth’s rear, but its frost aura is flash-freezing their armor. We need an environmental breach.”
“Understood. Adjusting the thermostat,” Red replied.
He highlighted a massive, subterranean vein of pressurized thermal vents located three miles south. With a smooth drag of his finger, Red pulled the entire geothermal network directly beneath the Glacial Behemoth’s feet.
However, he didn’t stop there. He selected a mile-long stretch of the boiling, hyper-regenerative Continental Moat and seamlessly curved it inland, creating a physical loop of scalding teal water that completely ringed the ice giant.
Down on the physical map, the sudden influx of extreme subterranean heat and boiling Aegis water created a massive thermal shockwave. The Behemoth’s legs began to violently hiss and crack.
“The structural integrity is compromised,” Red transmitted to the vassal gods. “Shatter the ice.”
The Rank 9 elemental twins seized the opening from their Void terminals. They commanded their physical mages to unleash a synchronized barrage of hyper-compressed kinetic blasts. The spells slammed into the Behemoth’s thermally weakened joints.
The massive ice titan let out a deafening, structural groan before its legs shattered entirely, sending millions of tons of absolute zero ice crashing down into the boiling mud to be trampled by the vassal war god’s charging centaurs.
Red minimized the Behemoth’s telemetry and swapped to the live feed of the artificial canyon he had built for the Flesh Abomination.
Down in the newly formed kill-box, the biological titan was thrashing wildly against the sheer, impenetrable bedrock. Cut off from the corpses of the vanguard, the colossal mound of pulsating flesh and screaming mouths had nothing to fuel its hyper-cellular regeneration.
Gorak hit the canyon floor like a meteor. The Troglodyte Warlord’s massive, bone-plated exoskeleton cracked the stone upon impact. He didn’t bother with weapons, choosing instead to lunge forward and sink his Star-Iron gauntlets deep into a cluster of the abomination’s wailing maws.
He planted his feet and ripped his arms outward, tearing a massive, bloody fissure directly into the beast’s central mass with sheer, alchemically enhanced brute strength.
“It bleeds just like the weak!” Gorak roared, burying his armored shoulder into the wound to widen the gap.
Above him, the canyon walls echoed with the metallic scrape of Iron-Scale’s rapid descent. The Kobold Inquisitor swung through the shadows on his Clockwork Grappling Spools, calculating the exact trajectory of the beast’s erratic thrashing.
He released the tension wire at the apex of his swing, plummeting directly toward the massive fissure Gorak had just torn open.
He spun mid-air, slicing through the thick, pulsating tendons that held the abomination’s primary nerve clusters together. The beast let out a continent-shaking shriek as the precision strike severed its motor functions on its left flank, causing thousands of tons of dead weight to slump heavily against the canyon wall.
Before the flesh could even attempt to knit itself back together, High Prophet Krug stepped calmly through the carnage.
Krug raised his iron greataxe high above his head, the weapon radiating the intense, burning heat of the Violet Flame. He aimed directly for the open, severed nerve cluster.
Krug brought the greataxe down with absolute fanaticism, burying the burning iron deep into the exposed biological circuitry.
The Violet Flame violently expanded, acting as a direct counter to the biological magic. The alchemical fire rapidly cauterized the abomination’s internal structure, burning away the Rank 11 Blood-Mage’s spells and turning the regenerating tissue into hardened, blackened ash.
The titan violently spasmed, unable to heal, unable to eat, and entirely at the mercy of Red’s industrial meat-grinder.
Up in the Void, the Rank 11 Blood-Mage sat motionless before his console, watching his DP reserves dropping drastically as the system registered the fatal, irreversible damage to his pinnacle creation.
“Praise the Spiral!”
