Chapter 131: THE CONTINENTAL WAR REPORT
For a few seconds, the three hundred thousand surviving troops stood completely still in the mud. Then, the clatter of falling steel began. Iron-priests dropped their disabled chainswords. Blood-cultists let their sacrificial daggers slip from their fingers. The sound cascaded across the western banks as an entire multi-racial army surrendered to the Ka-Lam-Tee. They fell to their knees in the ash, bowing their heads toward the Bastion.
Up in the Void, Red watched his faction interface update in real-time. The green population text spiked violently.
[ POPULATION INCREASE DETECTED. ]
[ +312,405 MIXED-RACE FOLLOWERS ACQUIRED. ]
[ ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: THE SHEPHERD OF RUIN. ]
[ REWARD: 5,000,000 DP, +10% GLOBAL FAITH GENERATION. ]
Red closed the population tab and activated the regional comms again.
“Return to your territories,” Red commanded, projecting his voice across the kneeling masses. “Bury your dead. Rest in your camps. I will send my inquisitors to instruct you on your new functions within the week.”
The massive horde began to stir, rising to their feet. Down on the riverbank, a towering, cybernetically enhanced dwarf stepped forward. The Forgecaster’s former frontline commander raised a metal arm toward the sky, looking directly across the boiling moat.
“We cannot go back to the western marches, Ka-Lam-Tee!” the dwarf shouted, his voice grinding through a damaged vocal processor. “A creeping death devours the edge of the world. It eats the ground and the sky. It leaves nothing behind.”
Red glanced at his tactical map. The absolute violet static of the Void-Eater continued its relentless march across the deleted pantheon’s borders.
Although it was silent now, the next wave could start any moment.
“Return to the central plains and make camp,” Red transmitted back. “The anomaly will be contained. Do not speak of it again.”
The dwarf bowed his head, turning to lead the massive, defeated army eastward away from the encroaching static. Red muted the external audio channels and leaned back on his throne. He finally had a moment to breathe. The continental siege had triggered hundreds of system alerts while he was actively fighting the war. He opened his terminal log to review the backlog.
A cascade of golden and crimson text flooded his primary monitor.
[ UPDATE LOG ARCHIVE ] [
MILESTONE REACHED: 1,000,000 HOSTILE UNITS TERMINATED. ]
[ REWARD: TIER-6 MASS GRAVE BLUEPRINT ACQUIRED. ]

[ SYSTEM ALERT: ALCHEMICAL POLLUTION REACHING CRITICAL LEVELS IN SECTOR 4. ]
[ FACTION MILESTONE: FIRST SURVIVED ABSOLUTE DESCENT. ]
[ REWARD: VESSEL ’KRUG’ GAINS PERMANENT +20 TO BASE DURABILITY. ]
Red scrolled through the massive list of salvaged materials, combat modifiers, and terrain warnings. He dismissed the minor alerts and categorized the blueprints into his construction inventory. He possessed the funds and the workforce to completely redesign the entire hemisphere.
Before he could open the map editor tab, the center of his screen flashed with a blinding, pure white light. The ambient system notifications vanished, replaced by a single, massive document sealed with the game engine’s official server crest.
[ GENERATING COMPREHENSIVE CONTINENTAL WAR REPORT… ]
The pure white light receded from the primary monitor. A detailed, multi-tabbed interface materialized over the Void terminal. Red scrolled through the official game engine assessment of the three-day siege.

Red tapped the glass surface of his terminal to dismiss the floating text.
Losing less than three thousand units against a combined force of nearly four million represented an unprecedented ratio. Red viewed the numbers purely through the lens of industrial efficiency.
He traded a fraction of his mortal units for four dead gods, a completely vacant sector, and hundreds of thousands of new laborers. The return on investment broke the standard server metrics.
Down on the physical map, a deep, resonant groan shook the cratered bedrock. Old-Shell dragged his massive, bleeding bulk across the ruined eastern ridge. The ancient Shell-Kin’s calcified dome carried horrible scars from the Forgecaster’s hijacking.
Melted Star-Iron plating fused painfully with his organic scales, leaving deep, weeping burns across his back. The colossal reptile approached the Bastion walls and lowered his massive head entirely into the bloody mud.
He emitted a deep rumble. The beast recognized his forced betrayal during the siege and offered his absolute submission to the Ka-Lam-Tee.
“You endured the divine corruption,” Red stated. “You held the line. Rest your plating in the alchemical runoff. The foundries will forge you a stronger shell.”
Old-Shell closed his giant reptilian eyes and exhaled a long breath of steam. The beast lumbered toward the steaming edges of the thawed Continental Moat to soothe his burns in the Aegis water.
Elian waded through the flooded trenches nearby. The militia commander knelt in the ash and collected the scrap-iron dog tags from the severed halves of his fallen soldiers.
The Zephyr Lord’s wind-blades had dismantled the human frontline in seconds. Elian wiped the soot from a cracked metal tag and dropped it into a canvas pouch at his hip. He kept his head bowed. His hands shook as he reached for the next piece of bloodied metal.
Gorak stomped past the trench. The Troglodyte Warlord dragged the thawing corpse of a centaur-wight by the hind legs. He snapped off a chunk of true-ice from the carcass and tossed it into his massive jaws, crunching the frozen meat loudly.
“The Ka-Lam-Tee demands the meat,” Gorak grunted, pointing a bone-plated finger toward the massive bio-furnaces venting black smoke near the Bastion walls. “Throw the little ones in.”
“Gather the dead,” Red instructed. “Load them into the extraction carts. The foundries require the scrap-iron plating. The bio-vats require the organic material. We recycle everything.”
Elian paused. He looked at the canvas pouch full of names. He then looked up at the towering, mechanized smokestacks. He tightened his grip on his Star-Iron rifle and offered a rigid, immediate salute to the sky.
“As the Spiral commands,” Elian replied.
He turned to the surviving militia members and signaled them forward. The human soldiers abandoned their mourning and began tossing the severed bodies of their comrades onto the wooden extraction carts.
The Kobolds joined the effort, hauling the corpses of their own fallen infantry toward the alchemical processing vats.
Red watched the cleanup operation commence. He tapped his terminal screen and pulled up the regional map. The violet static of the Void-Eater continued to consume the western horizon.
The anomaly threatened to delete his newly conquered territory.
“You have eaten enough, Void Eater. Now it’s time to burn the fat.”
