Chapter 150: SUPREME SOVEREIGN OF THE 17TH CONTINENT
“Why did you do that?” She asked with a curious yet confused look on her face.
“I needed to know if you were handing me a trap.” Red authorized the standard connection from his end. “I don’t need to cripple my own border wall. Keep your autonomy over the canopy. Just maintain the eastern perimeter.”
Sylara let out a shaky breath. The moths settled back onto her living silk dress. She pressed her hand to the standard document, locking in her mana signature for the second time.
The moment the contract bound them, the dark eastern sector on Red’s holographic globe violently shifted. The deep crimson border of his empire swept across the fungal forest, erasing the final blind spot on the map.
The entire sanctuary flashed a blinding, pristine white.
[ SYSTEM: MILESTONE REACHED – 100% TERRITORIAL SYNCHRONIZATION ]
[ REGIONAL ENGINE OVERRIDE AUTHORIZED ]
[ UNLOCKING CONTINENTAL ASCENSION REWARDS ]
Red stood from the obsidian throne as a cascade of golden text flooded the primary monitor, instantly dwarfing the payouts from the other achievements he had gotten so far.
[ ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: ABSOLUTE DOMINION ]
[ TITLE ACQUIRED: SUPREME SOVEREIGN OF THE 17TH CONTINENT ]
[ PERK ACQUIRED: PLANETARY SENSORY GRID (TIER MAX) ]
[ PERK ACQUIRED: AUTHORITY OF THE BEDROCK ]
[ REWARD: 500,000,000 DIVINE POINTS ]
Red stood from the obsidian throne as the cascade of golden text flooded the primary monitor.
The massive half-billion point payout slammed directly into his treasury. Combined with the reserves he had just acquired from the war, the digital counter violently ticked upward, crossing the ten-digit threshold in a matter of seconds. Before the dominion interface could even settle, a second, blinding alert overwrote the screen.
[ SYSTEM: MILESTONE REACHED – 1,000,000,000 DP THRESHOLD EXCEEDED ]
[ ASCENSION PROTOCOL INITIATED ]
[ RANK 13 (REALM SOVEREIGN) UPGRADED TO RANK 14 (CELESTIAL MONARCH) ]
[ NEXT ASCENSION (RANK 15): 2,500,000,000 DP ]
Red stared at the updated rank. Conquering the entire landmass had just bypassed years of passive farming in a single second.
The digital map of the Seventeenth Continent locked perfectly into place, pulsing with a unified golden aura. But the system didn’t stop there. The interface violently expanded, dragging the camera view out into the macro-server void. The massive, previously obscured landmasses of the Top 10 continents suddenly rendered in high definition on his screen.
[ WARNING: REGIONAL LOCK SHATTERED ]
[ CAUSE: PREMATURE CONTINENTAL UNIFICATION ]
[ BROADCASTING DOMINION STATUS TO MACRO-SERVER… ]
Red gripped the edge of the console. The system wasn’t just congratulating him locally, but also pinging the entire global board.
Across the dark void of the macro-map, massive red warning beacons began illuminating the borders of the central continents. The Summit warlords who were the entities currently dominating the top of the server were receiving the exact same notification.
“The regional lock dropped.” Sylara’s voice echoed through the comm-link, laced with sudden dread.
Red stared at the flashing global beacons. The ten-year reconstruction plan he had just mandated to his eighty vassal gods was seemingly dead. By unifying the map, the server had just broadcasted his exact coordinates and his new title to every apex predator in the game engine.
“No… this changes nothing. The seventeenth continent is an island. We are safe from unnoticed invasion. And the game system still keeps the same terms and conditions it did with the hemispheres of the continent. But with this… we have entered the Global Server.”
“That is true. We are safe but not for long. You have to ask your vassal gods to hurry and develop the continent. We have to make sure it isn’t invaded by any means,” Sylara seconded.
“Well, I don’t think the Global Gods would be stupid enough to invade the first notification they get. And even if they do, I will win. I will always win as long as a war happens over my territories.”
“How are you so confident?” Sylara asked curiously. “I am a rank 17 deity, and even I can’t have such confidence in winning Global Wars.”
“I think you are the problem for that. You don’t have confidence in anything.” Red retorted immediately. “No offense though.”
The white silk-moths resting along Sylara’s collarbone completely froze.
She blinked, her glowing translucent eyes widening slightly at the sheer bluntness of the remark. She pulled a strand of mycelium between her fingers, staring at him through the digital feed. “None taken. Though my lack of confidence is statistically justified. The Global Gods operate with treasuries that render our current metrics obsolete.”
“Their treasuries don’t matter if they have to cross an ocean to reach my Vanguard.” Red swiped a hand across the secondary monitor, bringing up the thirty-four mythic blueprints he had just distributed to his vassals. He highlighted the planetary defense rings. “The defender holds the absolute geographic advantage. And now that you are fully integrated into the network, I have your root system to anchor the heavy artillery.”
Sylara leaned slightly closer to her terminal, her gaze dropping to the glowing schematics reflecting on her screen. “You intend to wire the hyper-mana forges directly into the Omni-web?”
“I intend to turn the entire eastern coastline into a minefield.” Red tapped the glass interface. “If I route the excess power from the forges into your deep-strata fungal nodes, how far out into the ocean can you extend the sensory net?”
“Three hundred nautical miles.” The silk-moths fluttered with a sudden, rhythmic energy as she processed the logistical equation. “If you reinforce the ambient mana, I can bypass simple sensory feedback. I can weaponize the reef beds. The corrosive spores from the western deadlands could be grafted onto the underwater roots. Any naval armada attempting a beach landing would have their hulls dissolved from beneath before they even saw the shoreline.”
Red paused, his hand hovering over the console. He stared at the reclusive deity. “You want to compost the ocean floor. That’s a waste. I could always use fertilizers.”
“It is the most efficient method of perimeter denial,” Sylara replied quickly, her hands moving across her own unseen console. “We can layer the fungus spores over the coastal artillery batteries. If the central warlords attempt an aerial drop, the localized hive-minds can deploy a concentrated acidic fog to strip their infantry of—”
She stopped dead.
Her hands froze over her terminal. The rapid, tactical flow of her words vanished into the digital static. Sylara slowly looked up, catching her own reflection in the transmission feed. She was leaning aggressively forward, staring directly into Red’s eyes , and casually outlining the mass biological slaughter of invading armies.
The white silk-moths violently swarmed upward, completely obscuring her face and shoulders in a frantic, fluttering veil.
“I…” Sylara took three rapid steps back from her console, disappearing into the heavy shadows of her canopy. The glowing blue light of her form dimmed drastically. “I have overstepped. I am… talking too much. The acoustic volume of this discussion is exceeding my standard parameters.”
“You were just outlining a highly effective naval defense,” Red said, leaning back into the throne.
“I need to calibrate the deep strata.” Her voice trembled, echoing faintly from the dark background of the feed. “The integration process requires my immediate and absolute silence. I will… send a text-based logistical report. Eventually.”
“Sylara, the forges aren’t even built—”
“Good luck with the Global Server, Rubedo.”
The transmission abruptly severed. The primary monitor flashed black before defaulting back to the macro-server map.
Red sat in the silence of the Void sanctuary, staring at the empty screen. He reached down and absently stroked the silver fox resting on his lap.
The anomaly chirped in the quiet room.
He had just recruited a Rank 17 biological weapon who was utterly terrified of her own tactical brilliance. Red turned his attention back to the flashing red markers on the global map. The ten-year reconstruction had just been put on a strict, paranoid timeline, but for the first time since the summoning, he actually had the firepower to defend the borders from the unknowns.
