In the middle of the battle against Lucian and the twin hunters who had attacked him from behind, Luther the dark elf decided to drive his own sword through his stomach.

From the impact Lucian was hurled several meters away from his enemy, when he hit the ground he tried to stand and return to the fight, but he could not stop himself from coughing up blood.

Luther, with a satisfied smile, took Lucian’s sword from between his teeth and slowly approached him while speaking in a mocking tone.

“Stupid kid ha ha ha… How ironic, you’ll die by your own sword.”

“You’re not in a better position, old man… Your own sword is still running through your body, how long do you think you can last? You may be half-undead, but your body still runs on blood like everyone else’s,” Lucian said with a grin.

The silver blade traveled with its new master in a blink, advancing like a lethal whistle as its tip neared the heart of its former owner.

Lucian tried to dodge the attack, but his body was saturated with that poisonous magic that made him slower.

But when only a few inches remained before the blade pierced Lucian’s body, a massive block of metal suddenly appeared at Luther’s side, it was a shield.

Ebony had charged with all her strength toward Luther’s body like a human projectile, using her heavy shield in front.

Luther turned his gaze too late as the metal began crashing into his face, breaking his nose and driving his body back with a direct blow that sent him flying away.

Lucian had been saved for a moment thanks to Ebony, who now stood in front of him gripping her shield bravely with a completely focused gaze, yet despite the situation a smile escaped her.

“Now it’s my turn to enter the game you old bastard! Let’s see what the hell you’re made of!” the blonde girl shouted while slamming her shield hard against the ground, challenging her enemy.

“You damned bitch! You broke my nose!” the dark elf shouted in rage as he rose from the ground holding his nose, red blood beginning to pour out.

“For every drop of this blood I’ll make your soul cry a hundred times!”

Ebony, with a shameless smile, shrugged her shoulders as she spoke in a mocking tone.

“As if your blood were that important, can’t you see it’s red like the rest of ours? What kind of adult are you, even my grandpa could take more beatings.”

“You damned bitch!” Luther said before charging at Ebony, wielding Lucian’s saber in his right hand.

Ebony immediately began running toward the dark elf and when the impact was imminent she thrust her shield forward to receive her enemy’s attacks.

Luther, agitated and completely enraged, began striking Ebony’s shield with one blow after another, but seeing that Lucian’s sword was too weak to break that shield, he decided to leap to bypass her defense.

However roots burst from beneath the earth and wrapped around his left leg, thwarting his movement.

A few meters away Lucian pointed his hand at the dark elf while emanating magic as he cast his spell.

In that moment of surprise Ebony seized the chance to strike her enemy with all her strength while also releasing the power of her weapon.

When the blonde’s shield collided with the dark elf’s body, a great explosion erupted, releasing lightning that cracked the ground and split the terrain.

Ebony’s shield had been pierced by the dark elf’s purple sword, which had managed to go through the arm holding the shield and even stab into the blonde girl’s chest.

However the elf’s body had not come out unscathed either, he had been blasted into the forest, breaking several trees, yet even with his ribs now shattered the enemy was still alive.

“Ha ha ha ha… Now you’re dead, idiot… That sword is imbued with my favorite spell… It’s a condensation of dark magic so lethal that even a small cut will poison your soul and you’ll die within hours!” Luther shouted while breathing heavily.

When Lucian heard those words he hurried toward Ebony in an attempt to help her, as she began to feel the dark magic infiltrating her body.

The blonde girl began to suffer intense pain, but even through that pain she clung to her objective and turning her head toward Lucian she shouted.

“Ears, stop worrying and get this crap out of me… The fight’s not over and it won’t end with us dead!”

Hearing those words Lucian set aside his concern, this was not the time to hesitate, so walking to the other side of the shield he grabbed his enemy’s sword and pulled it out without hesitation, exposing his friend’s wounds.

For his part Luther had risen from the ground and seeing the scene could not help but be surprised by the girl’s courage and Lucian’s coldness.

“What the… Ha… Did I say hours? Forget it, she’ll bleed out in minutes… I admit it’s brave to shorten your friend’s life just to use my weapon against me… What are your names, kids?” the dark elf said as he approached, limping and leaving a trail of blood across the ground.
