Chapter 89: Healer’s Flame vs Bloody Flesh (1)
The assassin standing in the doorway extended his hand toward Ebony and, after casting his spell, reddish magic wrapped around the tips of his fingers like a thick mist.
Ebony, staring at her enemy, prepared for battle, fixing her gaze on the man with the plague doctor mask, ready to face whatever spell he launched head-on.
However, the attack did not come from the front, but from behind: the maids grabbed the blonde’s arms.
Their chests held no heartbeat, and they moved only through the reddish magic flowing through their bodies. There was no life in their eyes and no will in their gestures, only that magic pushing dead muscles to turn them into weapons.
“You miserable bastard!” Ebony shouted, furious. Rage surged through her the moment she realized what he had done to those women.
“For someone who managed to kill Richard, you must be interesting. So fight without holding back,” the assassin with the plague doctor mask tilted his head. His voice sounded amused, almost polite, which somehow made it even more unpleasant.
In an instant he bent his fingers, and the maids began biting Ebony. Their jaws clamped down on her arms and shoulders without hesitation, like animals guided by invisible strings that knew neither compassion nor limit.
The blonde tried to break free without using too much strength. She twisted her body, pulled her arms, and struggled to escape without breaking anything, although every passing second left her more trapped among teeth, nails, and lifeless flesh.
But it was impossible to escape that situation without harming the women’s bodies. The more she restrained herself, the worse her position became, and the more she hesitated, the more advantage she gave that damned man smiling in the doorway.
With anger, biting her lower lip, Ebony grabbed one of them and threw her toward her enemy in a single motion. It wasn’t a clean decision, but one made in fury and urgency, born from having no immediate way out.
The assassin dodged the body, which ended up flying out of the room. He barely moved, taking a precise step that let the woman pass as if he were merely avoiding a chair left in the middle of the path.
Ebony began throwing every body within reach like forty-kilo projectiles. She lifted and hurled them one after another, using brute strength to clear space and force the enemy to stop playing around.
But her enemy, dressed in black, only laughed at every attempt while dodging the bodies. His small figure moved lightly between each impact, as if that grotesque rain of dead women were nothing more than an entertaining spectacle.
They were thrown with such force that when they crashed against the walls, blood splattered across the stone. Each hit sounded dry and brutal, leaving fresh stains and making the room look worse with every impact.
“Damn vermin, just stay still!” the blonde shouted while holding a maid by the hair in each hand. Her breathing was already uneven, but she kept forcing her body forward, driven more by rage than reason.
“Make me, bitch!” The assassin bent his fingers again, and the maids thrown against the walls stood up.
They did so clumsily and brokenly, like shattered puppets that still obeyed every command from their puppeteer.
The sound of bones snapping from the strain and the damage of the impacts echoed throughout the room. Horrible cracks accompanied every movement of those women, making it clear their bodies were already being pushed far beyond their limits.
The women’s bodies began launching themselves at the blonde. They did not run like normal people or fight with technique; they simply threw themselves at her with blind violence, driven by the red magic that still controlled them.
But Ebony, instead of receiving the attack or continuing to hurt them, leaped upward with force. Her legs exploded with power, pulling her out of the trap just before those dead hands could grab her again.
With a twist she adjusted her body in midair and slammed her feet against the ceiling several meters above. The impact was brief but enough to give her support, and her body bent like a spring ready to drop onto her enemy.
Using all her strength and aiming directly at him, she launched herself in a reckless charge while shouting in fury. It was not an elegant maneuver but a brutal, direct assault meant to smash his face once and for all.
But the assassin suddenly clapped his hands together while his body expelled that reddish magic. The energy burst out in a thick, violent pulse, as if all the blood spilled in that room answered to his will.

In an instant, two of the women’s bodies were torn apart as if the red magic ground their flesh into pieces. There was no time to understand it; their bodies simply collapsed into themselves, transformed into material for that monstrous spell.
Every piece of their bodies shot forward in front of the assassin and began swirling together in less than a second, forming a circular shield of flesh and bone where two grotesque faces began screaming in agony.
Ebony, who had prepared a punch, ended up striking the shield, which did not move a single centimeter from the impact. Her arm trembled from the force of the collision, but the thing absorbed the blow as if it had expected it.
The faces began screaming in pain while tears streamed from their eyes. It wasn’t a simple wall of flesh; it was something worse, something that still reacted as if suffering had not ended even after death.
Horrified, Ebony saw the flesh move as if it were still alive. But beyond the grotesque horror, the real problem was that she could not break that defense with brute strength, and that only enraged her more.
“Nice try, girl! Keep it up!” the assassin said, pointing forward with palms overflowing with red magic.
The mockery in his voice was obvious, and the way he enjoyed it made the idea of killing him almost a necessity.
The flesh shield shot forward, carrying Ebony with it until she slammed against the ceiling. The mass moved with absurd force, pushing her like a living wall determined to crush her without leaving her room to breathe.
It was as if that defensive mass of flesh wanted to crush the blonde. It pressed against her, squeezing and pushing while bones and pieces of body cracked within that sick structure.
Ebony had the twisted faces screaming directly into her ear. The wails of those trapped faces just inches away made everything worse, because it wasn’t only the impact that hurt—hearing that suffering so close to her head hurt as well.
“(I’ve hated this magic since long before… You bastard! You’ll pay for this, you’ll pay!)” the blonde thought.
She was still suffering from Mage’s Sickness, which meant abusing her magic was dangerous. Even so, the idea of holding back was no longer useful.
“(To hell with it! If I’m going to die, I’ll die ruining your damn plans!) PURIFY!”

A massive explosion erupted on the ceiling, a blast of green flames that completely destroyed the flesh shield.
The assassin watched in amazement as the shield of flesh that had once crushed experienced warriors was reduced to pulp.
A rain of blood fell as Ebony dropped to the floor, her fists wrapped in green flames. Her rage-filled gaze locked onto her enemy as she shouted:
“Let’s see if your shitty magic can be purified into fucking ashes!”
