Chapter 70: Broken Healing vs Grand Freeze (2)
Ebony held the Dark Elf’s head in one hand, the one that had cost them so much to defeat, and the magic staff in the other.
“Heal,” the blonde said with a faint smile.

A green glow enveloped the entire head. It tried to regenerate, but it couldn’t reconnect to anything below the neck.
In an instant, the head’s eyes snapped open; its consciousness returned, forced to remain trapped inside its brain.
“What the hell? How am I still with—? AHHHH!” the talking head screamed as it tried to move and felt the total absence of its body.
“Welcome back to the world of the living. Don’t worry, you’re still dead, but I had to bring you back to use your power,” Ebony replied, glancing into the distance where Marcus was beginning to recover.
“You damn brat! How dare you bring me back to life? I’m not helping you with shit!” the Dark Elf shouted furiously.
“Relax, you don’t have to, I don’t need your permission, hehe,” Ebony said mockingly.
“Fuck you, idiot! And how the hell am I alive? What does any of this mean? This is unnatural, even for a half-undead like me!” the elf’s head yelled indignantly.
“Well, I figured that since I can purify and heal objects thanks to my broken trait, maybe I could use you as a long-term tool,” Ebony explained.
“Me? A tool? FUCK YOU, idiot! I am Luther, the most feared Dark Elf in the entire East! I will never be your damn tool!”
“Relax, I promise I’ll take good care of you,” Ebony said, satisfied.
Then she gripped the staff like a spear and stabbed it through the sack filled with powdered crystals.
“(In the original game, headhunters could force spells by doing this with dark magic. In my case, I can do it without making any nasty pacts… I just hope this works.)” the blonde thought, swallowing hard.
“Heal! Purify! Heal! Purify!” she shouted as the head in her hand complained nonstop and Ebony aimed at the sack.

By charging the head with her own magic while purifying that same magic at the same time, Ebony managed to activate its magical nature, forcing it to expel its corrupted mana.
Little by little, corrupted magic poured from the head’s mouth, soaking into the sack and seeping into the Fire Crystal powder.
“Pointy ears, now!” the blonde shouted, and beneath her feet a green magic circle flared as a root lifted her into the sky.
Marcus, seeing his enemy rising high above, suspected she was planning something reckless, so without hesitation he sprinted to stop her.
Lucian quickly wounded several Yetis in front of him, but his senses warned him of the old man rushing forward. Without hesitation, he leapt in front of Marcus to block him and buy time.
“A half-elf, huh? How fitting company for a Visitor. You know, I might end up delivering more than one specimen to the Demon King,” Marcus said, his face still sweaty from the pain earlier.
“That attempt will cost you dearly, old man. Don’t think I’m some cheap treasure for a traitor like you,” Lucian replied, Ebony had already told them, at least briefly, what had happened.
Meanwhile, dozens of meters above, Ebony focused her gaze on her target: the ceiling of the cavern.
With all her strength, she hurled the staff with the sack impaled on its tip like a spear, sending the payload flying toward the cavern’s roof.
Above their heads, magical storm clouds hovered, releasing snow to sustain the Frost Goblins.
The staff carried the sack through the air, piercing the clouds and crashing into the rocky ceiling.
A massive explosion erupted among the artificial clouds; it was so powerful that they flashed brightly for a moment.
“What the hell did you do, woman? What did you use my magic for?” the Dark Elf’s head demanded angrily.
“I just balanced the environment,” Ebony replied, anxious to see if her plan would work.
Within seconds, the once-gray clouds turned black and began releasing small violet lightning bolts.
Then, from the cavern’s cloudy ceiling, a reddish liquid began to drip, the same color as Fire Crystals. It started to rain.
“Rain? All that for rain?” Marcus asked, holding Lucian by the throat.
But his surprise was immediate when a drop landed on his skin and burned, forcing him to release Lucian on reflex.
Marcus quickly understood, the rain was acidic. Not the strongest acid on the continent, but enough to create something disastrous for Frost Goblins: heat.
These D-rank creatures were prone to dying from overheating; at the slightest rise in temperature, they would flee to the coldest place they could find.
The burns caused by the acid began irritating some goblins and the Yetis fighting the intruders, and the wounds only worsened over time.
Terrified, some tried to punch the rain as if it were to blame, while others fled the citadel in panic.
“What are you doing, cowards? Get back here!” Marcus shouted angrily as his body suffered light burns from the acid.
His troops completely abandoned him, and Daniel and Lucian took advantage of the moment to attack.
But the old man, fierce and determined not to lose, defended himself with his one intact arm, deflecting axe strikes and dodging the elf’s blade.
“Idiots! You’ll die too if we keep fighting under this rain!” he shouted before landing a direct punch to Lucian’s stomach.
Lucian was sent flying, crashing through the walls of a house where frightened goblins were huddled inside.
“Hey, old man!” Ebony shouted as she descended from above, aiming both legs at her enemy to crush him.
Marcus dodged with minimal effort, and her attack shattered the ground upon impact.
Using her healing magic, Ebony quickly restored her broken legs from the fall, then faced the old man and tossed the elf’s head toward Daniel.
“Take this idiot’s head and go finish the plan. Kill every goblin hiding.”
Ebony ordered, locking eyes with her former ally. Her skin was reddening from the acid burns, unlike the blonde, who, thanks to constant healing, remained seemingly unscathed.
“Good, girl. Let’s see what you’re made of if you really want a one-on-one fight,” Marcus said as he watched Daniel run off, enduring the rain’s pain on his face.
The old man then assumed a stance, ready to begin the battle beneath the acid rain.
