The mage use the magic boost potion so if he used his [Dark binds] he would be able to trap the boar running towards him for some seconds but that would give Alex enough time to close the distance between them.

If the mage were to use his fireball spell he wouldn’t be able to kill the boar in one shot and he would automatically become the boar’s target till either one of them is dead

Instead of taking that chance the mage turned around and shot a fireball at Alex, Alex was some distance away so he quickly reacted and dived out of the way sending the fireball to the boar behind him.

The fireball hit the boar stopping the boar in its track, the boar snorted and immediately crashed into the sand on the ground. The fire wasn’t going to affect the boar much but it did stop the boar.

Alex quickly stood up from the ground but another fireball was already heading his way, he could jump out of the way but he purposely slowed himself down so the fireball could hit him.

The mage quickly turned around and jumped out of the boar’s attack at the last second, he still had his agility boost so the boar’s speed was no problem for him.

Instead of stopping the boar continued so it could circle the field and gain enough momentum to attack the mage.

The mage looked over at Alex and the smoke was clearing away and he was unscathed, not even his clothes got burnt and the boar behind him was still rubbing its body on the ground to get rid of the flames.

“You did something to yourself right” the mage shouted.

“I didn’t and you might want to focus on the boar coming toward you cause it’s really angry and once that boar is done, you’ll have two fanged boars to worry about” Alex smiled.

“I know you don’t have any spells apart from fireball and dark binds, or did you buy the mud trap too?” Alex asked.

“Are you a mage, how did you know that?” the mage asked.

“My best friend chose the mage class, but you did good with the magic boost or magic amplifier, but you can’t defeat me with that,” Alex said as he brought out his daggers.

“You can’t get close to me, I’m faster,” the mage said still watching the boar.

“But once I get close it’s over,” Alex said and immediately he heard a loud snort behind him.

Slowly Alex turned around and saw the boar staring at the mage with bloodshot eyes, part of the boar’s mouth and nose were burnt and it was already brushing its feet against the ground getting ready to charge.

The crowd had stopped cheering and were waiting in anticipation to see what would happen, the mage was stronger than they expected so they didn’t know who was going to win.

“Damn you all…” the mage shouted and took a battle stance with his hands stretched forward.

The mage shot three fireballs in rapid succession, the first one toward Alex and the other two toward the boars, Alex could dodge him if he wanted but he didn’t and for some reason, they were not as large as the first ones he shot.

‘He may and took a magic boost but his Mana is bound to run out after casting spells like this, I’m sure his Mana is already depleted’ Alex smiled as the notification came up.

Alex absorbed the flame but both of the boars suffered from the flames, even though their skins were tough they were not immune to fire like Alex was.

‘Okay then… let’s do this’ Alex mumbled as he dashed towards the mage.

“You are wasting your time” the mage shouted as he cast his fireball but to his surprise, nothing came out of his hands, “Shit my Mana”

The mage mumbled as he raised both his hands up, this was the reason he took the strength potion, he was faster than Alex so he was sure he would be able to dodge Alex’s attacks.

“Hand combat, time to test my visualizing theory” Alex muttered as he threw both his daggers back in his inventory.

The boars were trying to get the flame off them so they wouldn’t be a problem for both of them and this was Alex’s chance to try out his amplified flame energy.

Alex stopped just feet away from the mage and the mage advance as soon as Alex stopped, without giving Alex time to react the mage threw his first punch.

Alex used both of his hands to cover his face and in doing that he block his face, the attack was quite heavy but nothing he couldn’t handle, if a knight took the strength potion maybe he would have something to worry about but not in this case.

Alex moved backward and threw his own punch but the mage’s reaction was fast and he dodged both of Alex’s attacks while both of his attacks got Alex.

Alex moved backward after getting punched twice in the face, he knew he wasn’t good with hand combat and so was the mage, the only difference was that the mage was faster than him.

‘I don’t have to play along’ Alex said under his breath and charged forward again.

This time Alex was more reckless than earlier and he had only one plan, to catch the mage, Alex threw punches and the mage easily dodged and struck back immediately.

Alex tried to block by using his hands but he was going for something different, as soon as the mage punched him Alex caught the mage’s arm with his left hand.

The mage reacted immediately and threw another punch with all the force he could muster, Alex was wide open and the attack threw him off balance and he fell to the ground.

“You can’t win against me, my punch doesn’t do much damage but I have all the time I need” the mage spoke as Alex stood up from the ground.

The last attack was really powerful and Alex’s lip was parched and blood slowly rolled down his jaw, but as Alex stood up a large smile was plastered on his face, the same smile he had during the second round, the mage saw the smile and moved backward just in case.

“You don’t have to move away, just look down,” Alex said with a smile and the mage looked down.

One of Alex’s daggers was sticking outside of her stomach, he was supposed to feel pain the moment he was stabbed but that didn’t happen and now that he was looking at it the pain came.

[Inventory]

One of Alex’s daggers was in the mage’s stomach so he brought out the other two, he was going to end it before the mage could recover from the pain.

[Dark binds]

The mage placed his hands together and dark ropes sprouted from the ground and caught Alex in place before he could take a step forward, even though the mage could cast a fireball he was still able to use his dark binds to trap Alex.

“I have experience with pain” the mage spoke in a labored voice as he removed the dagger from his stomach and slowly walked toward Alex.

Alex struggled to break free from the binds but they were too strong then a word came to his mind and he closed his eyes.

“Are you ready to accept your death, why are your eyes closed?” the mage said as he stood in front of Alex with the dagger in his hand, the pain he felt from the dagger was excruciating but now they were gone.

“It seems you are really ready, and I’m going to win the 1M prize” the mage smirked as he raised the dagger up.

“Release…” Alex mumbled and immediately flame burst out from his entire body freeing him from the dark binds and burning the mage’s face.

Once again the crowd was stunned as none of them could believe what they just saw, because of the sudden burst of flames all of them thought Alex was a mage.
