“Who are you? How dare you enter this room without permission? Did you not hear what the Lord told you not to come here?” Shen Xia was irritated by the disturbance as he yelled like crazy. But Bai Yunxian took it as a dog barking as he remained silent.

“T-that…! Young Lord, I met the Patriarch just now before coming. The Lord permitted me to come and deliver food for the Young Man.” The maid replied in a dry and shaking voice, her small frame was still trembling.

’Father gave permission to her?’

Shen Xia was still angry, but tried to look at the situation calmly. This girl seemed like one of the maids from Mother’s exclusive maids, and he couldn’t afford to anger his father over something as shallow as this when he was still only the successor.

“Are you Mother’s maid?”

“Y-yes, Young Master. The madam gave me instructions to take care of the young lord over there till she woke up, and he didn’t eat anything from yesterday night. I brought his meal here.” She answered as positively as possible.

If things went wrong then his father could eliminate him from the unstable position like the successor and give it to other cousin’s. He couldn’t afford to mess with him for now.

“Well then, leave the food here and return. I’ll take care of hi—” Shen Xia wanted to get the maid to leave, but got interrupted by Bai Yunxian himself.

“The maid can stay, rather, it should be you who needs to leave, Young Master.” Bai Yunxian said in a stern voice.

“What? X-xian’er, do you really want me to leave? I promise I’ll stay quite, so…” Shen Xia wanted to coax Bai Yunxian, but looking at his disgusted expression, Shen Xia felt a knot in his heart as he gave up.

“Who—?” Bai Yunxian stared at the maid in disbelief as he asked, but his voice got caught in the middle as his eyes glistened with tears.

This voice, it was so familiar that he didn’t need to confirm…

’Don’t tell me, is this what I think it is?’

“L-lord Yun?” Bai Yunxian asked with a trembling voice as he stared at the familiar face.

No wonder he felt the voice so familiar, as if he knows the person too.

“Right, I came here with a lot of difficulty just to get you out of here. And you…” Yun Shu turned around to finally look at Bai Yunxian properly and scold him, but went silent as she froze.
