Chapter 118: Chapter 115- Is This Real or Not?

Sol and Yoon-Jae were walking down a rather large hall. The floors were tiled with golden jade slabs that reflected their figures.

The wall on the right contained paintings and murals of auspicious beasts on it. While the wall on the left, well, there was no wall there, only several large archways that showed the outside world.

The sun was high in the sky and was shining its golden rays through these archways. This light reflected on the golden slabs, which shone with dazzling light as a result.

This created an ephemeral atmosphere that made Sol feel this Heavenly Palace was something he would have seen if he had climbed the real Heavenly Staircase to the Nine Heavens.

Sol glance out of these archways and saw a breathtaking sight.

Wherever they were they were extremely high up. He could see the many pavilions down below that stretch for a few miles. It looked like a city, but he was more inclined to believe those pavilions were actually a part of this Heavenly Palace. Sol had once read in the books his Master gave him that those Deities had numerous concubines and would house each and every one of them in their palace. Perhaps, all those pavilions housed this Rune Deity’s concubines.

But beyond these pavilions, Sol saw mountains on the distant horizon.

’Just what is this place?’

He paused and stepped away from Yoon-Jae to walk over to one of the archways.

Yoon-Jae didn’t stop walking and instead said without turning his head back.

“Don’t bother.”

Sol reached one of the massive archways and extended his hand, but before it could pass through the archway to the outside world, blue runes appeared and blocked him.

While his hand was placed flat on these blue runes, Sol tried to examine them. However, that feeling he once had when he looked at his Master creating a teleportation rune array appeared, and he immediately looked away.

These runes were beyond anything he could understand right now. With that said, he was able to see that an extremely familiar linking method had been used to link the runes in this Formation Array.

This gave Sol more incentive to desire this Legacy Inheritance. He just has to solve this game to pass the trial.

Sol retrieved his hand and hurried to catch up to Yoon-Jae.

When he reached Yoon-Jae’s side, Sol asked.

“Have you found any signs of anyone inside the palace… uhm, that’s alive?”

“Not when I looked around, but the palace is large, so I don’t know.”

Yoon-Jae answer Sol, but the way he did made Sol turn to look at him. He realized he was upset.

“What’s wrong Brother Yoon-Jae? If you’re worried about getting out of here, then there’s no need to fret! I’m good at solving things like this. Since we now know that it wasn’t Victim Three, the servant, it must be Victim Two, or-”

Sol was lifting his fingers to list off the people he deemed as suspects, but Yoon-Jae suddenly snapped.

“It’s not that I’m worried about leaving this place Sol. It’s just that you’re taking this entire situation too lightly!”

Yoon-Jae’s voice bounced off the walls of the hall and echoed for some time.

Silence overcame the two for a moment before Sol lowered his head and said slowly.

“Please don’t be mad, Brother Yoon-Jae. I’m really not taking this lightly. I admit I want this Legacy Inheritance, but I’m focused on escaping with you. I’m resistant to this place’s suppression somewhat, so if any danger came to you or Little Zeel, I had planned on doing everything to protect you two.”

Yoon-Jae paused, but soon he released a sigh. He then turned to Sol and explained.

“That’s not what I’m talking about Sol. It’s the fact that you’ve convinced yourself this isn’t real.”

Sol was confused by that.

“What do you mean, Brother Yoon-Jae? Isn’t this a trial for a Legacy Inheritance in the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension, what else could it be?”

“Is it?”

Yoon-Jae said, before he turned to face forward, a solemn expression on his face.

“That might not be the case. I read about the teleportation methods used in the past. They weren’t as developed as the ones now where they can directly take you to your destination. Instead, there was a bridge. This bridge was in the form of a separate dimension that someone needed to be transported to. Then in this separate space, they were able to choose a destination to be transported to in the form of doors.”

Sol felt his heart tightened when he heard that.

That was exactly what they went through before coming here.

“This never came to mind at the time, but now it’s all I can think about. What if that teleportation array we came through teleported us here, to another place?”

Sol suddenly shook his head.

“I-I don’t understand, how can that be? Brother Yoon-Jae, that was a dead Deity in the room we left, an Immortal existence that is described to be as powerful as a God in the books I read. How… How is he still alive, I mean, how is he still here when the books I read said all the Deities died in the past? Are you sure this isn’t just a part of the trial?”

“Those books you read said that they were dead, but did it mention how they died?”

Sol froze, then slowly shook his head.

“If that’s the case then how can you claim they’re truly dead? Maybe that teleportation array on that iron rod wasn’t ordinary. We entered the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension through a Multidimensional Teleportation Array that can teleport someone from one dimension to another. I don’t know much about runes or teleportation arrays, but who’s to say there aren’t teleportation arrays out there that can teleport someone to another world? If there was an existence who can make that happen then it’s an Immortal Deity who’s said to be as powerful as a God.”

Sol’s body shook when he heard that.

“Brother Yoon-Jae, are you saying that we were teleported to another world?”

“Have you ever heard of a place called Alvian on the Eastern Continent?”

Sol shook his head. He was doing this a lot.

Not even in those old books did he see such a name.

But Sol still couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that everything they were experiencing could be real.

This has to be a trial, an extremely… extremely realistic trial.

Yoon-Jae soon came to a stop at a door.

“I don’t know if what I said made sense, but I do know that I don’t like this situation.”

After saying that, Yoon-Jae pushed open the door before leaning against the wall next to Sol. He was turning his head to the side, refusing to look inside.

As the door swung open, Sol had a clear view of the interior.

From how the room was decorated, one could instantly tell this was the room of a child.

However, Sol’s gaze wasn’t on any of these decorations.

Immediately after the door swung open, his gaze was forcefully drawn to the middle of the room.

There on the ground, with a pool of blood beneath her, was a cute little girl no older than seven or eight.
