Sol scratched his cheek, but he didn’t hesitate to hold Mar-Yue’s hand.

He understood her words before were meant for what would happen after she chose him.

Sol and Mar-Yue looked at Mar-Du as he continued to look at them with that expression. They felt he would do something, perhaps becoming so enraged that he slapped Sol to death out of anger, but instead, he simply glared at Sol before his figure disappeared.

When Mar-Yue saw this, she became worried.

“That isn’t like him. He wouldn’t normally back down like this; he probably hasn’t given up on separating us.”

“Leave my daughter.”

Mar-Yue smiled when she heard that, before she came in front of Sol and held his other hand.

Sol then took the initiative to lean down and kiss her; however, the moment his lips touched Mar-Yue’s own, he heard a familiar voice screaming in his head.

“Bastard, how dare you kiss my daughter?!”

Sol was so shocked by the voice that he jerked back from the kiss and looked around with a frightened look on his face.

“What is it?”

Mar-Yue asked worriedly when she saw Sol’s reaction.

“I… It’s nothing, I thought I heard something. Do you want to go back to the Festival?”

Mar-Yue shook her head.

“It’s already so late let’s just go back to your tent. You haven’t been sleeping, that’s why your face is like that.”

Mar-Yue then tugged Sol’s hand and led them back to his tent.

After they reached and entered, Sol walked over to the bed and picked up Abdu who was still sleeping.

Mar-Yue without much thought, climbed up onto the bed and lay down. Sol lay next to her and placed Abdu on his stomach.

Mar-Yue moved closer and placed her head on Sol’s chest before she reached out to pet Abdu.

Sol shifted his hand behind Mar-Yue’s head so it would be more comfortable for her. He was then about to wrap his arm around her, but a voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

“Bastard, what are you planning to do to my daughter?”

Sol’s hand paused, and he suddenly shifted his head to look in the corner of his tent.

It was pitch black, but the moonlight filtered through the gaps of his tent flaps to slightly illuminate Mar-Du’s face.

He had that same look on his face as he glared at Sol.

Sol smiled awkwardly before he withdrew his hand and placed it flat on the bed.

He then heard a snort in his mind before Mar-Du’s figure vanished from his tent.

It didn’t take long before Mar-Yue fell asleep, but Mar-Du’s appearance had unnerved Sol so much that it caused him to stay up for the majority of the night.

Only when a bit of sunlight started peering into his tent did he finally doze off. All while praying Mar-Du didn’t snap and off him in his sleep.

Sounds of laughter echoed out at the entrance of Sol’s tent as a few people walked by.

This caused Sol to groggily open his eyes.

“Did you get enough sleep? The adults of the tribe finally came back so everyone is making a ruckus.”

Sol heard a sweet voice say into his ear, while the breath of the person tickled his neck.

Sol glanced at Mar-Yue lying next to him, and the memories of the night prior came flooding back to him.

“I’m fine.”

Sol said, but Mar-Yue suddenly reached out and swept back his bangs.

“You say that, but why did the dark circles under your eyes get even worse?”

Sol smiled.

“It’s my first time sleeping with someone next to me, so I was a bit nervous throughout the night.”

“You don’t have any siblings?”

Sol shook his head.

Mar-Yue then said.

“After I was born, I was isolated from everyone in the Tribe. I wasn’t even told I had siblings. When it finally found out I clung to my sisters, but especially my brother. I never wanted to go anywhere he wasn’t. We even shared the same tent growing up.”

Sol could tell from how Mar-Dule and Mar-Yue interacted that they were close. They were twins after all.

As if remembering something, Sol said.

“Happy birthday.”

Mar-Yue beamed a smile; however, her expression suddenly changed.

“Ah! I forgot!”

Mar-Yue yelled before she jumped up from the bed.

Sol held Little Abdu as he sat up.

“Let’s go, I need to go to Third Aunt to get my dress made.”

Mar-Yue pulled up Sol, who placed Abdu on his head.

After leaving the tent, Mar-Yue dragged Sol in a certain direction. But perhaps they didn’t think this through.

Immediately after they came out of the tent, everyone in the surrounding area paused to look at them.

Both adults and youths alike had surprised looks on their faces.

Sol scratched his cheek, but Mar-Yue seemed oblivious to the stares.

Mar-Yue nodded, not suspecting anything off as she turned and entered the tent.

Sol heard the voice of a woman excitedly greeting Mar-Yue, but his attention shifted to the figure that suddenly appeared next to him.

Sol looked at Mar-Du, who still had that look on his face. In fact, it looked like it had gotten worse throughout the night.

Mar-Du swept his gaze across Sol and then said.

“Brat, hurry and leave my daughter. I won’t say it again.”
