Ronin and Benson arrived at the camp Ronin was in charge of just as the sky above began to dim slightly, the sunset’s light filtered through the trees unevenly.

The moment they crossed the outer perimeter, a strange noise reached their ears.

Ronin frowned immediately, his steps slowing as he tried to place the sound.

“What happened?” Ronin asked sharply.

The man grinned widely and gestured for them to follow.

Without waiting for confirmation, he turned and rushed deeper into the camp.

Ronin exchanged a quick look with Benson, both of them already feeling something was wrong, and followed.

They were led to a cellar near the back of the premises.

The moment Ronin stepped inside, his heart sank.

A brown-haired elf lay unconscious on the cold stone floor, her hands were loosely bound, and her breathing was shallow but steady.

Even without anyone saying it out loud, her identity was obvious.

“Boss,” the man said proudly, completely unaware of the tension in the air. “I heard from the others that her name is Seraphine. She’s the princess of the Elven Empire.”

He laughed loudly. “Hahaha! Boss, we’re gonna get promoted, aren’t we?”

Ronin broke into a cold sweat.

He looked around at the others standing nearby, but none of them could meet his eyes. Their faces were as pale as his.

This man did not know the obvious, his greed blinded his reasoning.

Without saying another word, Ronin turned and walked back toward Benson.

“Take her out,” Ronin said quietly but firmly. “Drop her back where this fckr picked her up, make it quick.”

He did not stay to argue with the foolish man. He did not even look back at the changing expression on his face.

Benson nodded immediately.

He walked toward the cellar door, broke the iron bar with one hand, and gently lifted Seraphine into his arms.

The man who had brought her here was now carrying an unbelievable expression.

His eyes widened, then filled with rage.

“Hey! What are you doing?” he shouted.

Benson ignored him and continued walking toward the exit, careful not to jostle Seraphine.

The man snapped at last as he saw his protest getting ignored.

Before Benson could leave the premises, the man lunged forward. “Tsk! Didn’t you hear me!!!”

Benson dodged slightly, kept Seraphine’s body against the wall to the side, and finally turned to face him.

“What’s wrong with your head?” Benson snapped. “Do you want to get us all killed?”

The man clenched his fists, his face was twisted with greed. “Lies. You and that bitch Ronin just want to take all the credit for bringing such a valuable thing.”

Benson stared at him in disbelief.

“Don’t you know the Elven Queen might start a rampage for her daughter?” Benson shouted back. “We will all get killed instantly.”

The man sneered. “Tsk! That is exactly why she would kneel as much as the cult wants at the negotiation table.”

His voice rose with excitement. “The cult will gain something big from this deal. And I will get my share, along with a long-awaited promotion.”

He pointed aggressively. “I will say this one last time. Leave her alone.”

At that moment, Ronin rushed back toward the entrance, sensing the rising chaos.

“What is happening?” Ronin demanded. “What the hell are you doing!!”

The man turned on him instantly. “Shut up, Ronin! I know what you’re trying to do. Stealing all the credit for such a good haul. I am…”

His words choked in his throat.

A heavy pressure descended from the sky.

Ronin felt his knees almost buckle. Benson shivered.

The rest of the cultists did not even understand what was happening, their bodies froze under the spatial lock as if something invisible had wrapped around them.

Ronin and Benson looked up.

The others could not.

In front of the image of the setting sun, William’s figure floated.

Every weapon in the surroundings began to shake.

Daggers rattled in their sheaths. Spears trembled against the walls. Swords rang as if struck by invisible hands.

The small armory of the base, where all the weapons were housed, burst apart.

Blades, swords, arrows, daggers, and spears shot into the air, ripped free by William’s will. Metal screamed as it twisted unnaturally, pulled into orbit around him.

The weapons swirled faster and faster, converging into a single mass that gradually started taking a shape.

A metallic serpentine form emerged, created by rows of blades circling precisely as one body.

The body was made entirely of sharpened metal. A living wyrm of blades, twisting and coiling in the air like a serpent, its presence felt outlandish and unreal.

It looked like something from a nightmare. William had only seen these types of creatures in the sci-fi movies in his past life.

The metallic wyrm hissed as it moved.

Before anyone could react, it surged upward, then turned sharply.

Gravity and spiritual energy dragged it downward.

Midway, the wyrm began spinning violently, its body rotating like a massive circular grinder. Its open maw aligned directly with the frozen cultist below.

No one witnessing the scene doubted his fate.

William rose into the air. Seraphine was now cradled securely in his arms. Without looking back, he vanished into the distance.

The wyrm lost its spiritual connection.

Its form collapsed.
